Now is that the time? I better getgo ing to getgo and getgas. Time changes a lot of things. Now I have to give massive kudos to this awesome Lakewood gas station which is not only shiny and new but has free air for anybody. That's one of the coolest things I've ever heard. Nobody gives free air - these guys do. It was a godsend on this particular night, as I had a slow leak. I was impressed and happy about it. So this was where I ended up changing my tire and it took about three hours (1am-4am) and other than an Ashton Kutcher look alike who popped in to put free air in his tire there was never a point where anybody bothered me or hit me up for anything - so it's definitely in a safe area. I think I saw more cops out here than regular cars. The tire changing was a nightmare, but the gas station was awesome. It's well-lit even when it's closed. I guess that's my only complaint is that they close late at night - but other than that it's the perfect gas station. read more

Some employees are fairly rude. One just stared at me at the register for a minute without saying anything. Things are frequently out of stock. Machines are broken. They don't have any cups for beverages often. I love the GetGo selection so if I'm in a pinch I'll pick another location when I can. read more

The Lakewood GetGo Gas Station, which is also a cafe and market, is great. I have no real complaints neither do I really know how to review a gas station....LOL. Those of us who drive need fuel/gas for our cars so reviewing a gas station is tough. I either come here or go to the location on West 117th street in Cleveland. Anytime you buy petrol/gas, you get 3 cents off a gallon if you show your Giant Eagle rewards card. So just give them your phone number that is linked to your rewards card or give them your actual rewards card and you save 3 cents instantly. That's fantastic. Yikes! Horrible experience. Pumps don't work and there's no sign. The intercom button for "push to speak with attendant" didn't work neither ( always curious if it was just for show). After waiting a long time in line to advise the staff, Employees did not seem to care. Actually they didn't comprehend that I was telling them pump wasn't working. This is the new GetGo store that just opened at the corner of Bunts and Detroit. To compare it to the old GetGo that was down the street is just completely unfair but I'll do it anyway. Fueling: Huge, open gas station layout with at least double the pumps the old one had. I've yet to wait for a spot although most pumps are usually full. Nice and bright and open until midnight. No more foodperks. Now you get $0.03 off per gallon just for using your GE card even if you have no fuelperks. Bomber. I never got more than like a dollar off in foodperks anyway so this is a bonus for me. The convenience store: the old GetGo was so packed and small that I never even bothered going inside - plus if you did you'd get the stink-eye from the guy waiting for a pump spot. (I have been both the recipient and the giver of the stink-eye). This new place is AWESOME! I don't usually get too excited about gas stations/convenience stores, but seriously, if you could name a bunch of stuff you'd want, this place has it all. Some of the highlights: Sub shop: I was skeptical - thought it would be Subway quality (gross) or worse. WRONG! These subs are great! So many options to pick from and totally reasonable price. 14" sub was about $8.50 and that was more of a specialty one - some of the less elaborate would be cheaper. The multigrain bread was great and you have the option to toast your sub - yum yum yum! This was a really nice surprise. I would say the quality is definitely at Potbelly level, far and away better than Subway. Drink counter - wow do you have options here! All the usual sodas, Icees, etc. Plus about 5 coffee choices, espresso drinks, and an ice cream shake machine. Use your Giant Eagle card and get every 6th drink free. Yeah that's right, not every 11th - every 6th! Super good deal and the coffee is actually pretty good. You have about 10 choices for creamer and even can choose organic half-and-half! Never have I seen this before anywhere much less at a gas station. They even have a little cafe area with tables, free wifi and a microwave in case you need to heat up that burrito you just bought (why did you do that when you could get a fresh yummy sub?) Excellent and MUCH needed larger gas station/convenience store in mid-Lakewood. Highly recommend the coffee and subs. read more

The food here is pretty good and sometimes great and I order from here often. Some of the signature sandwiches are a little heavy and high calorie but all can be modified for health or flavor. They have nice small sizes of many appetizers and a nice selection like fried pickles, mozz sticks, poppers, seasonal selections, so you can try more than one without going broke. Always pretty happy with the food. They make the occasional mistake on an order but the cafe staff is always friendly. The reason for the low stars is the store staff, whose service can be brash at best and downright rude at worst. Recently I experienced this rudeness complete with visible impatience, angry impatient head shaking, mouth hanging open and a gratuitous hand motion that could be only be interpreted to say " FFS would you spit it out?". All thi kois for a mere few seconds long pause as I had lost my train of though and was searching for words. Imagine if I had been elderly or a special needs person! I had never thought to add this to a review until this last time. Just because it was so offensive and insulting and unnecessary. If this were an isolated incident, I would probably not bother to mention it, but this is ordinary at this establishment, though this time was the most disturbing with the angry faces and the aggressive hand gestures etc. BTW, I had not said one cross word. read more

People let's be real, what expectations can you possibly have for a gas station? Think about it - some gas stations have brown floaters in the toilet. Some gas stations have chewed urinal cakes. Some gas stations only have powdered cream available for their creamer. This gas station has Non of the above, oh no, this gas station kicks (g)ass. The food is better than you expect, the restrooms are clean, the line rarely gets bogged down with some yahoo cashing in 14,069 lotto tickets and the pump flow is solid. 5 stars. read more

The place is always packed and thats a good problem to have. Its Jumbo Mallard owned and has all the basic neccessities but even bigger selection to include cereal, prepared foods and lube. They have a sub place in there but im not much of a sub guy so never really had one. They have sushi if your brave enough and the coffee station is great. I bring in my big Standard thermos and fill it for .99 cents! Saves on wasteful cups, etc and wayyyyyy cheaper than the hip coffee places. For a gas station, this particular GetGo rocks. In general, the whole Fuel Perks program is awesome, especially since I'm at Giant Eagle multiple times a week getting groceries for dinner. But this GetGo has a ton more than other locations--and a HUGE gift card wall. I buy up Nintendo eShop and PlayStation Network cards, since I'd be spending the money anyways, and get Fuel Perks! I got gas for $1.87/gallon the other day! I also love the made-to-order computer system and the crazy coffee/creamer selection. I often stop in the morning to order an egg white breakfast sandwich and a coffee--but there are tons of salads, subs, snacks and otherwise you can get made for you while you wait. read more

This GetGo is a life saver! There used to be a tiny one across the street and I'm so glad they moved into this bigger location. Super convenient (I lived near by!) and great selection. I was shocked to see that they had Giant Eagle bakery items (a TON of them), sushi (not gross gas station stuff - the Giant Eagle stuff!), lots of pre-made food and the made to order stuff! I get wraps, subs and breakfast sandwiches at this place regularly. A good deal and pretty decent food. It's a much better deal than Subway for a sub (what you get is bigger and likely fresher). They've also got pizza, salad, and burgers! Never had an issue with the workers, either. Once, my hash brown was cold (they were really busy that morning) and they immediately apologized and gave me a new one. Mistakes happen, I'm just happy that they were nice about it and honestly, that's the only issue I remember having here- ever! It's almost as awesome as Sheetz and considering how far away the closest Sheetz is, I'm very pleased with my new local GetGo! read more

No, I'm NOT trying to pad my review numbers in Yelp by reviewing a damn gas station. (Well, OK, maybe a little.) But this gas station straight-up saves me money every week. Why? Their freakin' air pump is FREE. Pretty much every other gas station charges for their air pumps. Some of them even have a debit-card thing to be able to charge you more efficiently. I'm no stick-in-the-mud, things-were-better-way-back-when type of dude, but I will grant that one of the best things about the 1950s to 1970s was the crazy attention to full-service auto station detail, i.e. the free air pump. They are always so on top of things! They have amazing customer service whenever I'm there. If I'm having a problem they ask and see if I need anything. This definitely will always be my favorite place to go. The one bad thing that I don't like is when I order there loaded tater tots they never but enough cheese. But that's very very minor! I love this place! The coffee selection is A-1. Pumpkin and spice for fall. Need a gift in a jif? The gift card selection is fantastic! Delish subs, KRISPY KREMES, wines and beer, a random orange in case you are leaning towards a healthy option. My honey and I have date nights here. Totally beats the old Get Go previously located across the street. New, clean, plenty of gas pumps, amazing subs/wraps, free wifI, two ATMs, plenty of parking, a cafe/dining area, friendly staff, an outside patio area, and a variety of basic gas station commodities. This is about a 3 to 3 1/2 star experience. Lakewood did need one of these so I'm glad it's here, but it needs to up its game a little IMHO. Pros: If you normally shop at Giant Eagle you can get discounted gas here. Store is clean and well stocked, has fewer sketchy people hanging around than other Lakewood convenience stores, and has actual food as opposed to tons of beer. Also, unlike most convenience stores, it has booths in which to sit and eat if you need that. GetGo sandwiches can be very good, especially if you like the current "featured sandwich" (they change it every couple months, which is a bummer as sandwiches you like disappear seemingly forever, but not within the control of this individual GetGo). Wi-Fi and fee-free ATMs are helpful. Cons: Biggest problem: NOT OPEN LATE HOURS. I spend a lot of time in PA and am used to 24 hour Wawas...this place closes mighty early by comparison. It usually takes FOREVER to get a sandwich or a drink-to-order made. They seem to either be constantly training new staff or understaffed or just S-L-O-W. Last visit there were 3 people behind the counter, 1 was doing the orders (and there was a line) and the other 2 were standing there having a chat. SMH. With dozens of people looking for work in this area, you'd think they could hire some folks who could step it up. The grab-and-go hot options at GetGo are usually lousy and also usually sold out (probably to people who didn't want to wait 20 minutes for a sandwich). This is right across the street from a Giant Eagle that is open late, so why buy potato chips, etc. here when you can drive across the street and buy them much cheaper? It's located at the East End of Lakewood which isn't far from another GetGo on 117th, meanwhile the West End of Lakewood lacks a nice GetGo store. In short - it's decent but not fantastic. read more

Just saying paid for extra meat and extra cheese can't find it. I have never posted but I am getting tired of paying for extra and seeing nothing. Subway restaurant gives no meat but if you pay you see what you pay extra for. Just saying. But always want to leave on a good note, this location has great cashiers. read more

I was really disappointed with the new Get Go. I was really expecting so much more inventory and more options. Not to mention the food was disappointing. You'd think with all of the space they used that they could have better options and greater variety but there was hardly anything new. They just spread everything out. They also have like 4 registers open at a time but only 1 person ever working at them. I've gone in a couple of times and had to wait for about 10 minutes because they had such difficulty making the experience efficient and quick. And, the gas prices are typically much higher than most competing stations in the area. The Fuel Perks don't even put a dent in the difference. I'd much rather go to Moon's across the street where people are at least friendly and quick. I think I'll get my gas elsewhere from now on. read more
