Lucky's Market Burnt rotiserrie chicken on February 28, 2025.

Lucky's Market sells their cold two-day old rotisserie chickens for $7.99, which is the he same price as the regular hot rotisseries. The chickens should be at a reduced price. I have never seen this before in any store.

UPDATED REVIEW -- Lucky's is still a good grocery store and I go here more often now than Aldi's grocery store. The Cleveland and Columbus locations of Lucky's Market were recently bought by Dave's Market (a Cleveland Chain) in March 2020. This review is for the Cleveland location, in Lakewood, Ohio. I buy staples here such as bread, snacks, Rotisserie chicken, almond Milk, fruits and vegetables, ice-cream, etc. Rice is cheaper at Aldi's. SERVICE -- The employees are super helpful and nice but the store could use some improvements. HOT FOODS BAR / SALAD BAR -- The food here is hit or miss because the quality sometimes is not great. I've arrived many times to find dry meat (and other hot food items) and salads that looked like it had been sitting out for a long time. Also, they run out of food in the evenings really early sometimes. I've arrived after work numerous times, by 7:30pm/8:00pm to find no food left in the hot foods bar. I'll still keep coming back here but I wish the prepared foods were fresh all the time. I do love their ongoing sales.

Great market on the corner of West 117th in Lakewood. I had heard about this market for a while now and never realized this is where it was! It has a great selection of specialty bakery that has no added chemicals or food dyes, has a stand for the famous Edison's Pizza, a soup and sandwich spot, fresh sushi and ramen. Not only that, there are typical grocery items as well as one of the largest gluten free sections I've seen in Cleveland. We tried the sushi and a slice of the Edison's pizza. The pizza is always good, but the sushi was surprisingly great (I.e. not your typical grocery store sushi). Will be back to try the ramen and get more sushi and to take a better look at the drink selection.

Plant based protein powders/drinks

Just discovered this place after realizing Wholefoods was closed and all the juice bars were closed. I was craving for healthy plant based proteins and cold pressed juices, took a gamble and webt to this place and i was amazed i found plenty of things here that i normally find at Wholefoods. I'm so impressed and will be coming back again since they close at 11pm. I have shopped exclusively at WholeFoods for 12 years and it's nice to see other supermarkets finally using their commin sense and selling healthy unprocessed plant based foods that caters to educated Vegans and Vegetarians.

Price tag says $10 but $20 was written over it with a sharpie.

Friendly and helpful employees (especially Nick) AND good inventory. Way better than Whole Foods (which I by-pass to get there.)

::cries softly:: I don't live near an Earth Fare of Whole Foods, so this Lucky's really fulfills a great need for me.

The dried out chicken has been a problem since the present owner took over. I can't believe they save that much money by serving a bad product.

NOW I GET IT! First…read moreand very important, people like to say the next generation doesn't like to work. In all fairness, we can't glom all young people in this category. I walked in Lil' Chet's to witness a young man vacuuming the floor, a very kind, patient and broad smiling young lady named Grace who wore the business brand well and then a taller, young man at the cash register and three other younger associates all busy at their post. I always thank people who are working these days but I'll go as far to say these associates were raised right. Bravo to whoever hired so many good workers. Now the Chicken. I walk To the back of the store and there it is.....a trove of fried chicken. I can't tell you how many people I know rave about this fried chicken. They say "it's the best around". I have driven past this place so many times, usually with somewhere to go. This time someone took the wheel and steered me straight in their lot. So I go in to see what all the fuss is about. Grace explained the difference of the chicken selection was. Just to sample, I opted for two thighs and one breast for beef and my wife with a side of sweet mustard. Got home to try it....Rats! I should have bought more.... The chicken was done right. Crispy, not greasy. In fact, if I had to rush out of the house, I know I could turn the doorknob with out washing the grease off my fingers. Breasts were not dry, thighs were tender, better than average in size and the mustard dip had a familiar taste to it but just enough off to make me consider it wasn't store bought and repackaged. So NOW I GET IT! What all the fuss was about. I'll be back for sure.
