Called and told them I needed the drivers side window motor replaced. I was quoted $500. Used pto to bring it in on a Monday since they had no weekend openings. After I bring it in suddenly they try charging me $840. I refused so they charged me $160 for "diagnostic" even though I told them what needed fixed. I had to pay that to get my car put back together. My buddy was PISSED when he heard this. We found the part I needed online for $50 and shipping. He watched a FIVE MINUTE YouTube video and had me drive over. We had it fixed and replaced in under a hour! To clarify they tried charging me EIGHT HUNDRED AND FOURTY DOLLARS. For a fifty dollar part and one hour of labor Avoid this place at all costs. If you look like you don't know about cars they WILL try to finesse you. They seem to always have a great/competitive price on gas. Recently bought new tires for the winter season which is in full swing in Cleveland. Bought the Firestone Winter Grip. Excellent tire. Rides well in wet and snow. Received excellent sales and mechcanical services. You'll get tire repair service when you purchase tires from here. They always have a mechanic on duty. I called another local shop after getting a flat on a Saturday morning and wasted the entire day waiting for my car before being told they wouldn't get to it until Tuesday. Called Lucas Saturday night and they offered to get me in first thing Sunday morning. Service took less than an hour and they were incredibly transparent about timing/expectations. I called Lucas Auto on a Saturday as I needed a battery for my Kia Rio. They were able to put one in on Sunday the next day which was nice since they don't do car work on Sundays and temps were in the single digits. The old battery was installed by them about four years ago, so it lasted a long time. I'm confident in their work and hope to have my car maintenance done by them in the future. Donnie was very nice and professional. Not to go into detail, but I think I'm pretty much done with Kia dealerships. FYI, the battery installed was a AC Delco and so was the previous one that lasted almost five years. read more

Almost one year later and still dealing with same issues. Under warranty and they still did an incomplete job of replacing crap parts and checking system functionality before returning vehicle to me. When they can't charge you more labor it's the bare minimum in and out service with no regard for wether your vehicle works properly. read more

I live very close to Lucas Auto Center and have frequent the center a great deal over the past seven years. I regularly purchase gas, lottery, and have even purchased tires from the location. The individuals that work the sales counter are always so kind. Unfortunately, my encounters with the owner have been horrible. His customer service is simply horrible and rude. My most recent interaction involves me stopping at the service garage after I got gas and asked if they could get the screw off my license plate as it needed a little muscle or a ratchet. The service associate indicated that he needed to ask the owner. The owner said I need to leave the car and that it would be $10. What? It would have taken him 2 min to get if off. Same way he treated me when I asked could I park my car for 5 min while walked to my house a few houses down to get my wallet I left home. Couldn't get on my street because of construction. Even after the the sales associate explained that I come to the store all the time. He said absolutely not. I went down the street to another location (Marathon). I was treated with respect and it literally took 1 min. and no charge. I offered $5 after the service and they declined it. That will be my new location for gas and whatever else they offer. read more

My car has very low profile tires and I had a hard time finding a shop that would mount a new set for me. Lucas Auto Center seemed happy to do the work, so I gave them my keys, signed an authorization form, and waited. The process would take an hour and a half, they said. After two hours, a mechanic came out of the garage and placed a number of chewed up lugs on the coffee table. Many were missing the metal a tire iron rests on. "We finally got your tires off, but we destroyed most of your lug studs in the process. They swell and we couldn't get the proper tool on them. You'll have to leave your car here with us and we'll order new ones for your car, but they're not cheap and we can only get them from the dealer." These parts are $14 A PIECE, and I have 16. I had places to be and needed my car to get to them, so I started crying. Rather than stop and ask me what I would like to do after they destroyed the FIRST nut, they kept going and tore up almost ever one on the car. I complained (the person who was not the manager totally agreed with me but wouldn't go to bat over it) and they put the lugs back on, but there's no way to get them off without special equipment now, and when I asked if I could order online and provide my own and have them put on, they said "Sure, but we'll have to charge you." These people damaged my vehicle and overcharged me. Almost $200 to have tires mounted and balanced and the car in worse shape than I started. read more

I had a flat tire. went in. they told me not fixable because the gov. said that. not put on back my tire not even my spare one, like kind of force me buy anew tire, not even match my other one, even I ask them. they told me is ok one tire different for the four-wheel-drive car. The next day fix my original tire. not took it back them tire not even changed. I ask to change at least the same tire that I have on. I am not too happy, terrible. not recommend it. found out from others who have issues too. and when I went back the guy said he does not understand me and the issues, need an interpreter, but when I told him a got the flat tire he did not say that he tries to force me to get the new tire, but after I found out they were wrong,they not understand me. very interesting read more

DO NOT GO HERE. SO RUDE. I had my car towed here and the person who I dealt with was so rude. When I tried to give him my card number over the phone I told him 1 wrong number and the card was not accepted and when I asked him to read the number back he yelled at me and said: " NO, the number is right." He quoted me almost $700 to fix my breaks and when I found somewhere more professional that quoted me less than half of that I decided to have it towed elsewhere. He became very upset and once I paid the balance he rudely yelled and asked where to put the key. Absolute rip off and such rude customer service. Don't waste your time or money. read more

Lucas does good work. In their defense to the other review about their customer service, they are a very busy shop - they service Lakewood's postal service, if that tells you anything. Personally I'd rather take my business to a busy auto shop than one where the service desk has all day to make a sales pitch at me. Give them a try. read more

I didn't even get past the phone call with this place. A very rude and conceited old man answered the phone and barely game me any information at all. It was very apparent that they did not want my business. When I asked for a quote the man refused to even give me a ball park, and then made a snarky comment to end the conversation. I saw the other review but chose to try this place anyway. I drive by it a lot on the way to work. I don't think very many business are willing to give estimates over the phone. I'm sure people probably get pissed when the car is actually looked at & the actual estimate doesn't match the over the phone estimate. So I can understand the frustration on both sides. Considering no one likes to spend money on fixing a car, my experience with Lucas Auto was good. They had me come in & they looked at my car fairly quickly. Explained all my options clearly. Answered all my questions. Helped me make an informed decision. Fixed my car the following day. Which I feel is reasonable. I will go back again & I would recommend to my friends. The place was clean for a service station. Had a nice waiting area next to a store. I could buy a snack. Comfortable wait. read more

I have taken our cars to Lucas for years. Jimmy Lucas and his staff have always been helpful, explained what repairs were needed and even what things could be done eventually but not necessary to do right away, so I felt like they were not trying to get every dime out of me.
