She's very pleasant and you don't feel like you're at a drive-thru hair salon. The owner sells a product by the name of Verb. I bought the sea spray and love it! I spray it on my hair when it's wet, let it dry naturally and BAM my curls and waves are happy but not crunchy! Thanks to this product, I've taken laziness in the morning to a whole new level, but shhhh that's my secret :)

And we don't really know the answers. Right?! Chelsea knows this. So she had evolved into a stylist that just gets you. And to top it off. She's cool AF. She's friendly. This review is mostly for Charlsie but slightly about the salon itself :)…read more I have been going to Charlsie for almost 2 years now. I originally found her through a Keratin deal at a previous salon and have followed her since then. She has been doing my keratin, color, and cut and has absolutely saved my hair! There are a few things that set Charlsie apart from other hair stylists: First and foremost, Charlsie is always more concerned about what you want and what your hair is able to do than with making a ton of money off of you. If your hair is too damaged to color, she won't color it. Or at the very least she will make sure you understand what the results will be by coloring it. She never forces products on you. If you don't ask her for suggestions, she won't make them and if you do, she will be honest with you about it. She will never squeeze money out of you by suggesting products or services that are not in your hair's best interest. If you get keratin done by her she will inform you that you need to use sulfate free products but she will not insist you buy what the salon has. Charlsie is also the most meticulous stylist I have come across. She takes her time with highlights and color, making sure it goes in the right places and develops how she wants it to. She won't stick you under a dryer to go do someone else's hair. She may put a timer on you if she needs to sweep something up or leave you for a few minutes but in general she sticks around to chat and keep a close eye on the color. She also takes her time with her cuts. She will cut your hair wet and then go back in when it is dry to make sure she got it where she wanted it to be. She is a perfectionist and she really cares about the quality of each service she is giving you. When I first went to Charlsie, my hair had been bleached blonde, dyed red for a while, bleached again, heat styled twice a day every day, cut badly, and straightened with something someone claimed was keratin but was actually some sort of perm.... Basically my hair was a ball of reddish blonde steel wool on my head. Charlsie weaned me off coloring my hair by using a demi-permanent hair color that slowly matched my natural color. Eventually we started lightening it again... 18 months later! I get keratin done by her every 3-4 months. I have had several keratin treatments done before, including the aforementioned perm :( as well as a Coppola treatment. Charlsie uses global keratin which is fine, does a good job, lasts long enough, and is not insanely priced. I think I had more drastic results with the coppola but I like my hair with the global just fine. I would follow Charlsie to any salon that she chose to work at. She chose Salon Revolution because she wanted to improve on some of her skills like mens cuts, updos, and other salon services that she didn't feel comfortable with on her own. SO obviously this place is providing her with the education that she needs to become a more well rounded stylist.... meaning they have the resources and expertise already there to provide her with that. The salon itself is located by TRUDYS which if you read my review of their south location you will understand is a huge bonus. They have convenient parking and the inside of the salon is pretty cute. Everyone that works there is friendly and helpful. You can drink wine if you want to while you get your hair done! I think that needs repetition... especially since at this point nobody is reading my ranting anymore. YOU CAN DRINK WINE WHILE YOU GET YOUR HAIR DONE!!!!! Or a variety of other beverages if you dislike having fun. I really like this salon even though it is up north and I live south of Southpark Meadows. I mostly love Charlsie though. She's amazing and you should have her do your hair :)

Her other location was a fairly sterile, boring "stable" if you will, of rooms rented out to hair stylists, etc. This is a bona fide salon. It has a modern type open layout but Sherry has her own room for privacy. As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted and asked if I wanted something to drink. Since I'd just had a horrendous Friday dealing my POS co-worker, I replied "Only if it has alcohol in it. I'm a WOMAN ON THE EDGE!" With a little fear in her eyes, she promptly offered me wine. Hell, I think they woulda given me vodka or xanax at that point just to keep me from going postal. They then parked me in front of the TV with mags until my girl was ready for me. I was feeling quite capital when Sherry brought me back. She did her usual great job on my uni-brow, making me laugh and somehow relaxed even tho she was ripping my facial hair out. I blow dry my hair every week multiple times and it looks much better than when I was here. I am white (Italian and Irish) with dark type 3B curls all over my head that get VERY frizzy if you don't pull on the round brush tightly. They ended up using a hair straightener and curling iron to get it manageable but it was still frizzy and dry afterwards. If you have typical straight non frizzy hair naturally though this place would be solid!

I was fine to forgive that but then she asked me if I wanted anti humidity spray in my hair. Of course I said yes. I'm in Austin for Pete's sake. But she did not tell me there was a charge associated with that. It was $15!!! Flipping hairspray was $15!!! I'm guessing it would have been cheaper to just buy the bottle. I didn't know there was a charge until I was paying. I went ahead and paid for it but I feel bamboozled. My coworker also said yes to a spray and wasn't charged extra. What in the actual F! How is any sort of spray worth $15??
