Best Arabic food and halal and very nice and clean restaurant,the worker very friendly

Every single thing we ordered was amazing. I wish it was closer so I can go back. We ordered the Fatteh, shakshouka, falafel, hummus. Is a lot of food, but the fresh bread was phenomenal with all of these items . The Fatteh is made in a Jordanian Palestinian traditional way as opposed to the Syrian way, but I actually really really loved it. It was extremely smooth and flavorful with the garlic flavor the bread honestly so soft and fresh I didn't expect it and it elevated all the other items the falafel and hummus was perfect for the morning with a side of veggies. read more

Me, my wife and another couple came here cause it was highly recommended from my sister who is an excellent cook and for her to rave of a place only means it's got to be good. Terrible service and bland food. We visited Ghawar Restaurant at 8535 S. Harlem Avenue and were very disappointed. They didn't even provide water for the table. The food was bland, overpriced, and not worth it. We had to go to a group of staff members just standing around just to get extra bread. Only as we were finishing did someone finally ask if we needed anything else. Save your money and go to Nile Restaurant up the street--much better food, bigger portions, and way more affordable and way better tasting food and waitresses are on top of everything. read more

Magnificent Where do I start?! This place outdid itself. From the decor to the falafel it was 10/10. Middle eastern cuisine at its finest. The interior has a beautiful middle eastern theme with decor painted on the walls and art detailed on the table itself. Very clean atmosphere and well done. Bathrooms are accessible and clean. The hostess and waitresses are very friendly and made us feel welcomed. The food is made right in front of you and everything is made fresh. You get a large quantity for the price you're paying. I dont know if the food was worth the wait. We waited a really long time for hummus and eggs and falafel. Why? These are considered fast food items and shouldn't have taken that long. It wasn't THAT busy either. 4 stars because Ghawar is a character that I grew up to and watched. The decor was BEAUTIFUL. Ill go back but just to enjoy looking the decor while I have tea. Well now that I work in Tinley Park and I found a shortcut coming back home from the north side in Harlem Ave passing through Bridgeview and Burbank which is predominantly Middle Eastern restaurants I decided to give this place a try. What stood out in the restaurant is that they had sheet liver sandwiches. It was actually very delicious I didn't want to eat any heavy meals that it is very expensive for most of their dishes you're spending over 14 bucks which I was on a budget but if you just want a sandwich and some salad to stand the healthy side of eating then this is good. I have the Arabic salad . Navigate me more radish and olives and other vegetables since I was leaning towards a healthy eating versus eating rice and french fries which I had no craving for. Too many carbs. I already can't wait for Thanksgiving and I'm trying to lose it by eating more vegetables. Service was pretty good the female server explained to me certain dishes. It certainly no typical Pita inn franchise up north. At least I know where to get sheep liver sandwiches. Ambience the typical casual middle eastern restaurant with a lot of Middle Eastern music I don't know what specifically if it's Palestinian or Iranian or Iraq or Arabic? The reason why three stars is because they didn't give water which I think most restaurants should do I noticed a lot of the Balkan and Middle Eastern restaurants have a tendency not to give water to drink even if it's casual atmosphere. read more

This is a really good place for some heart warming authentic middle eastern food...The fatte is to die for! I finally found a place that does authentic toum (garlic) sauce! We went to Ghawar with a larger group than planned for breakfast. Service was very friendly and they were accommodating. The interior is spacious enough and has a fun design, but it was cold. We ordered shakshouka, foul, hummus with chicken, and sheep liver. Needless to say, I did not try the sheep liver. The shakshouka was okay, while the foul and hummus were very good. The bill was pricey, but we did order a lot and I didn't get an itemized receipt to properly gauge price. read more

Bad service food ready on the table for 15 minutes getting cold falafel no respect for the customers

What really bothered me was how the bald manager was treating the staff. He was yelling, talking down to them, and acting like he owned them. It was uncomfortable to see, and honestly just wrong. No one deserves to be treated like that at work. If this is how they run things, I'm not coming back. People in charge need to fear God -- because disrespect like that doesn't go unnoticed. read more

Went there for the first time to eat Breakfast! We ordered Hummus, Foul, Flafel and tea. The hummus was good but Foul was disappointing and the bread was old that they need to heated up which you can still smell the old dough in it! In my opinion it's little overpriced for what items you get and quality! I would suggest that if they pay more attention to customer service and improve the quality of their food! read more

Absolutely loved this place. Authentic middle eastern Jordanian food. The service was great and super fast. I highly recommend to try the chicken livers, it's sooo yummy. This place was a big NO from the moment we stepped in. We had some family in from out of town and saw this place on social media and wanted to give it a try. Don't believe everything you see on the internet! The place smelled, filthy and sticky and as soon as we walked in we got stare downs and dirty looks from the guys that were in there. I've been to Ghawar restaurant twice and both visits have been fantastic. Both the food and service have been consistently good. We had the beef and chicken kabobs, rice, and plenty of appetizers. They have the best falafels in town!! The ambiance is adorable, especially if you grew up watching Ghawar. They have beautiful murals of the characters and have the movies playing in the background as well. Give Ghawar a try you won't be disappointed. read more

First time trying out this restaurant, ambience is very casual and relaxed. Wanted to try what was on the breakfast side because I was already around here in the morning staff was attentive and very busy looked like only one server there for 4 tables I ordered the shakshouka half dozen falafel and the corn salad. The shakshouka had the perfect cooked eggs and the tomatoes with the almost jam consistency I can see why people like it. The only thing about it was it lacked flavor past that, not particularly spicy and not crazy flavorful. Then I tried out the corn salad it had all the right ingredients but it also lacked a little something? The main food to go for in my opinion is the falafel! Crunchy on the outside flavorful and soft on the inside, it was easy to eat like popcorn all in all i think this place deserves a try! read more

This place was delicious. We got food for takeout (felafel, tabbouleh, hummus, pita, and fries) and all were delicious! There is also a chopped tomato and onion salad which is mildly spiced, I didn't catch the name of it, but we got it at their suggestion, and it's also so yummy!
