They just remodeled and it is better than ever. We have been going there for over 20 years and all the staff are so helpful!

Giant Food Ashburn shopping Plz had a very unpleasant experience at Giant Food with one of the customer service employees. When I asked for help because the Virginia Lottery machine was not working, the employee spoke to me in a very rude and disrespectful way, raising her voice instead of assisting me properly. This is not the first time this employee has treated me badly, which makes shopping at this store very uncomfortable and frustrating. I believe Giant should provide better training so employees treat all customers with respect and professionalism. I have always been a loyal Giant customer, but after this situation I feel very disappointed. I hope management takes this kind of complaint seriously in order to improve their customer service. read more

We have used this pharmacy for over 11 years only changing once when our medical policies favored another pharmacy but jumped back as soon as we could. The pharmacists are great however clearly this location needs more experienced staff that we thought it had in place for years. New employees are taking too long to find prescriptions. I had to wait 20 minutes for 1 yesterday and just gave up. No one calls anymore to let you know a prescription isn't covered so you can call around using a drug discount card and then you have to call around to find your own alternative pharmacy and arrange for them to call yours to transfer prescriptions. Before that would have been done once you identified where it was available. With the job market tough to keep good people, I hope this situation gets better soon . This Giants has been great for holding large covid vaccinations for communities and I hope it gets back to being the fast and reliable pharmacy it once was. read more

They are a great store GIANT and they need update inside and out of the whole building it is TIME start it is 2020! This Giant is challenging due to the high prices and understaffing, Waited for 15 mins for assistance in the bakery. I went to front of the store and asked to buy a coconut cake. Office person announced for bakery assistance over loud speaker. ...crickets....Apparently it's not manned on Sundays? Oh well Giants Loss HT gain. The store front is dirty. I love the bakery at this location. On two separate occasions Cassie at the bakery saved me from not being able to get a cake for a last minute celebration. Today I went to her last minute for a cake on Saturday and she was able to save my tail once again!!!! read more

4 1/2 stars This is a great Giant. I can't believe I am the first person to add this business, let alone review it. The store has always been clean, every single time I've gone in here. The produce is always fresh and colorful and is well presented. Speaking of well presented, walking down the first isle where the yogurt, juice, and dairy is can be scary as it is almost TOO perfect. Every single label is facing outwards so you can read it perfectly, even the products that are behind the first row. The rest of the store is the same way, and is never in disarray. That really is a nice touch and it makes this store stand out in Ashburn. Line at this store are almost never out of control, even during the holidays. It seems the manager always has enough common sense to staff enough people for the rush hours so you aren't endlessly waiting in a line. The prices are reasonable, and as I've found Wegman's, Giant, and Harris Teeter all go back and forth on who usually has the best prices. There isn't any one location that ALWAYS has the best prices. The staff has always been incredibly friendly, and if you need to find something they will go out of their way. You can tell that they actually take pride in this store. read more

This store is a mess. I went in tonight and was immediately approached by a giant employee in the produce section who was wearing his mask below his nose. Within a few minutes I encountered at least 3 other employees doing the same. I asked to speak to the manager but he "had just stepped out". One employee, who was helpful, did walk around and admonish the employees to wear their masks properly but it just seemed to make them angry. I won't shop at a store run like this. At this point, there is something seriously wrong with the management of this store if the employees are so comfortable doing this. If it makes you angry that someone is bothered by you not wearing a mask, you should look for a job that isn't frontline dealing with customers. I shop at other Giant stores in the area and haven't seen this level of foolishness. The store needs a different, better manager. read more

They recently changed the store hours to close at 10 so I try going when I get off work at 9:30 and this entire week they routinely closed 10-15 minutes early for some reason. Close at the posted time please not 15 minutes early! read more

I have been coming here for years. There have been lots of good shopping experiences and a lot of bad experiences. The staff is friendly. They carry most of the items I need. The produce is hit or miss. Many times the produce goes bad in a short period. All in all, good prices and conveniently located for Ashburn shoppers. read more

Always a great time coming here and the salad bar is phenomenal! The staff is so friendly and there's always someone ready to help you at the customer service desk. The isles are spot on clean and the bakery accepts orders the day off! This saved me so many times when I needed a cake in a few hours. Delicious cakes as well! Terrible store. Manager is non existent. Customer service at corp headquarters is equally as bad. Last Saturday there were a group of children ages 10 to 12 were having races with the grocery carts IN the grocery store. They were pushing each other in the carts racimg up and down the aisles. I went to the front desk to complain because they almost ran down a woman who was using a walker. The woman at the front desk told me there was nothing they could do, corp told them to leave the children alone. will never go into that store again and I tell everyone not to patronize that Giant. I have a complaint! For the 2nd time I have bought some "Butchers Block" raw beef from this location. The product says its sourced from Mexico or Canada. I open the cryovac containing the beef and immediately bowled over with the rotten fecal smell. This product was within date , so I wonder? Where the hell is loudoun Country Health Department? They should test it for fecal content, after all do they want their tax payers to eat s--t? read more

Customer service does not exist in this store! Two days ago my doctor called in a prescription. I went to the store several hours later to be told they didn't have that medication, but to come the next day after 4:00pm. I had another problem and brought in a prescription at 3:00 the next day and told them I would wait for it as it was an antibiotic and I wanted to start taking it ASAP. I had to leave the store before it was ready and so my husband went to pick up both at about 6:00. When he got there only the one prescription from the day before. The antibiotic wasn't ready yet! So now I had to wait until morning! Three visits to get what should have taken far less time. And to make matters worse, the bread I bought was less than fresh. My tomatoes on the vine last week were rotten within two days and the store is filthy. Plus, they don t seem to care. Was here the week of 10/6 and watched an unmasked employee who I believe was a mgr w/o a face mask. He had on a face shield. What could Giant be thinking? That pathogens could not go over, under or around a shield that is meant to prevent fluids splashing while used with a face mask in a medical setting? This is a big and clean store, although their produce section didn't seem well stocked. Very good sale pricing. I was a little disappointed with the service at the deli counter. The store was not busy at all, and and I was with my husband and brother-in- law. 2 workers , one young and one older. The young one was helping this couple, quick and friendly to them, they might've been regulars because he was talking to them for a very long time. So the older gentleman helped us, VERY VERY slow and english wasn't so well. Not a big deal, but we were in a hurry. After the younger deli work was done, I asked him if he could help me as well, since I was ordering food for 10 people. He said , he had to help the other customers... well there was no one else but me and my husband and in law a few feet away from me! He then asks them if they need help, and my husband says, maybe you can help my wife, he looks at me , goes back to the older guy, and then says the other guy will finish up with me and walks away!!! I've been shopping here for two years now and can't really complain. I have had numerous great shopping experiences along with a few bad ones. But nothing horrible. The staff is very friendly. I really do like going to this Giant. The staff is friendly and helpful and it does not take too long to checkout. The quality of Giant products overall I think are pretty good. Although it is not quite as big and fancy as Wegmans, getting in and getting out is easier, especially if you live in Ashburn. Using the gas points at Shell is also a nice perk. I tihnk the meat and fish are also pretty well priced and they typically have good sales. With the high cost of living in this region and living on a fixed income it is refreshing to find merchants who are willing to give us older adults a break. PLEASE CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATE!!!! I shop at Giant pretty often one time I bought some frozen food and after a few days when I took it out to eat I checked the date it was expired (over 6 months) so I had to throw it away. I don't really check the expiration date for everything just milk eggs etc. because I never would think stores would sell items that have been expired for months ?! Yesterday I bought some things and one of the items was soy sauce I made dinner with it the same night and guess what? The soy sauce was expired!!! Sometimes there is a line when you check out if you come at the busy times, but the times o shop there is hardly a line. They always have full shelves and weekly specials which are awesome. This is the closest grocery store to my home and I have stuck with it for longer than I should have. At 5:30 in the afternoon, a grocery store needs more than 2 cashiers. Nearly 15 minutes before I got to the cashier doesn't work for me. Giant doesn't have the best selection or prices. If the service isn't even good, I will go the extra mile to a Harris teeter, or a small bit further to wegmans. read more

I live half mile away from this store, so it only makes sense that when I need something quick I'd go there and avoid spending too much gas. But unfortunately some how and I can only think that due to prejudice, apparently every time I walk into the store they go on alert as if a criminal just walked in. I even Email their home office and talked to the manager but nothing changes, I still go but walk grab what I need and walk out, I never wonder an extra minute. Dirty store, with lazy employees. Didn't buy any fresh veggies, as many were rotten. I decided on some wine, age restricted at self checkout. The woman who was supposed to be doing self checkout verification and assistance looked at my flashing register, and just walked away. She then proceeded to go to the service desk and spend 5 minutes talking with another employee at the desk ignoring me. She finally came back with her verification card that she had had with her all along and said "oh, sorry, I didn't see you" and laughed at me. I told her that she had looked right at me, but chose to ignore me. She copped a nasty attitude and stalked away. Nasty employees . . . Harris Teeter is 1 minute away with better prices, fresh non-rotten produce, and really nice employees. I will never make the mistake of going to this nasty Giant Food ever again. This incident happened at around 9:30 AM, 9/19/2019. Shame on Giant for tolerating such self entitled, rude, and abusive employees. While using the self-checkout lane, I withdrew $16 cashback. The machine had ran out of cash, so I was taken to the customer service desk to finish the transaction. The young man helping me out only gave me $10. I pointed out the error, so he looks over at the self-checkout register. He says "uhh yeah, you should have gotten $16, but the cash voucher only says $10, so there's nothing I can do about it." Short and stout, THEY STOLE MONEY FROM ME. I'm finally writing a review for this place. I don't shop much at Giant, there is a Harris Teeter right by my house and if I need to go further then I will go to Wegmans or Whole Foods. I have been to this Giant a couple times before, one time I got many things that were clearly marked on sale, but they did not ring up that way, and the lady who was checking refused to send someone to go look at the sign so I did not buy the sale items, just the other few things I had. A couple days ago I went in again and I didn't have a great shopping experience, but it wasn't terrible either. The real reason I'm writing this post though is because about a month ago I went in there with my 10-year-old son. We recently went to the Barbecue festival in DC and Giant was there giving out samples and coupons, so I went in there to use the coupons and get all my groceries for the week. My son was wandering the store and cut his finger pretty good on an item (no stitches needed or anything like that,) it was a pack of twine that came with a razor blade encased in plastic that you could use to cut the twine. The plastic encasement was broken and the razor blade was sticking out. So my son went to customer service to ask for band-aids and the lady gave them to him, but did not ask how he got cut. Then my son came back to me and told me he would take the item up to the lady so that nobody else would get cut. I told him that was a very good idea and to be careful while handling it this time. So he took it up to the customer service lady and told her that was what cut him and showed her the razor blade sticking out. She did not apologize or anything, she just asked him if he wanted to buy it or not. Well, umm...that was kind of a weird response from her. A defective item from the store cut him, you could apologize for that and thank him for bringing it up to you so it doesn't happen to anyone else, but whatever. Asking him to buy it however is very concerning. Why would you try to sell someone a defective item, and why would you try to sell a 10-year-old child a razor blade? Seriously! So anyways, when I went in the other day I was just reminded of this whole incident and reminded that I have never had a great experience at any Giant, especially this particular location. I do not find that their prices are any better than Harris Teeter or Wegmans and at least at those two stores I always get great customer service. I will most likely never shop at a Giant again. read more
