Watch out for some suspicious pricing issues. I saw the 2-pk Datu Puti soy sauce and vinegar in one spot with a shelf label for $6.99 and another for $6.49. Then I checked the shelf and decided on the individual bottles. Well the soy sauce was listed as $2.99, but rang up as $3.99. While it was the only thing in my basket that was off, it was a small trip and things like that would significantly add up over time. read more

I stood in line to pay. The person before me put the red bookmark down. I put my purchases on the conveyor belt. While a cashier was removing the divider and taking my stuff to calculate with another man, the man informed the staff and the staff cut back and said to me, "Why don't you put it?" I said, "Why did you take it out? That's your job. Why didn't you look?" And the previous man told the staff that he put it down. This staff is rude, not only does he speak badly and loudly to customers, but it's not the customers' fault. It's your job. You still don't do your job well. This is a smaller location from other locations but it's got all the goodies you'd want in an asian grocery store. Goodies include cheap and affordable produce. I'm talking very cheap and bulk. Where else can you get 5 bunches of green onions (scallions) for only $1.49? I would caution you to be careful here as some of the produce items look rotten or outdated so be alert and aware. Different kinds of meat are avail (like pork & beef for different broths). Not to mention all the Indian and Asian items to make inspired cuisine such as curry or beef noodle soup bowls. Same with other items like desserts, spices, frozen foods, dairy products, the whole 9 and 10 yards! I'd give 5 stars for this place if they were more consistent for their produce quality. But the prices and the diversity of international Asian items make this a cool place for groceries! read more

Reliably the freshest veggies at reasonable prices. I gov often go here for the freshest green beans, zucchini and yellow squash. I also visit for Asian ingredients when I want to cook authentic Asian dishes that you just can't find at typical Chinese takeout joints. As I live 19 miles from the nearest Lotte, I don't visit often but I'm rarely disappointed when I do. read more

Lotte used to be like the old Hmart where Korean groceries get their logistics mapped out across the US and have groceries clean money and fund parts of earnings to Korean presidential political contributions under the table... well that was the old days. Many Lottes have closed down and some are adopting to locals to survive and this was one of them. I have seen many Lottes in the past and I can see how much they have evolved. Well.... Enough for boring stuff. This place has some cool stuff. Many were for Indian cuisine. Frozen section where you find dumplings, you will find microwaveable Indian food. Like all other Asian groceries it's not the cleanest. And for some strange reasons onions are super expensive! Seriously. More than Wholefoods organic onions. Others are definitely cheaper. I would not buy dairy or everyday stapes here and save those for American groceries. I would shop here for some exotic produces, fruits and cut of meat. read more

I have shopped there since they opened several years ago and I will not return after the past couple experiences. They have signage throughout telling people to wear masks. And yet, three customers entered without masks, and no one told them to put a mask on. Within a half hour, I counted a total of five employees who were not wearing masks. I asked two of them if they were going to wear a mask. They told me, "No." I went up to customer service and asked the staff member there if the employees are required to wear a mask. She said, "yes." To which I responded by pointing to one staff member directly behind her and two staff members just three feet away from her not wearing masks. If the employees are not going to wear masks, then an expectation cannot be set that the customers will, despite signs everywhere telling customers to wear a mask. Prior to the pandemic, the quality of the produce was either okay or good. Since the pandemic, there was been a decline in both the quantity and quality of the fruits and vegetables. This is the second time I have brought fruit home only to throw them away because they are rotten or spoiled. Additionally, I have bought rice bags twice from them only to find rice weevils in them both times. These rice bags had little holes in them. I will be going to H Mart next time. read more

I had the worse customer service today at Lotte. In the past they haven't done great but today they really crossed a line. I am nine months pregnant and in line to make a return. Even though the cashier/ manager can clearly see me he allows a buddy of his to cut in front of me. I didn't say anything but then he allowed an employee buying drinks to cut in front of me. I spoke up and said I'm in line and his reply was "well he is an employee." Then when he got to my turn he kept saying I was standing in the wrong place in line and that I should have told the men before me that they cut in front of me. When I told him his attitude needs to be better, he threatened to call the police. I asked his name to complain to better business bureau and to their corporate headquarters and he threatened to call police again takes out his phone to take my pic. I was calm through this entire incident but this was enough. I told him I'd call the police and I wasn't afraid of his empty threats. Awful customer service and he claimed to be the manager and that there was no supervisor above him. Shame on you Lotte! read more

It's open! This Lotte Plaza just opened this past weekend, October 13th. As part of their opening, they have various sales and were giving out reusable shopping bags. It's a nice breath of fresh air to have a well-stocked, well-priced, fresh ethnic supermarket in this area. There are plenty of Asian and Indian ingredients here, aisles and aisles full of them. There's definitely a good variety here, including frozen and refrigerated items too. The fresh items here were well-priced and will definitely get you thinking if it's cheaper than your local supermarket you've been visiting. In addition, there's a fresh fish/seafood counter and a huge meat counter. If you need any odd "bits and pieces," there's a good chance you'll find it here. The only thing this Lotte plaza is lacking is a food court and prepared Koraen yummies. A lot of the other Lotte plazas have pretty decent food courts, however, given the lack of space, this one does not. It does have a small Indian-run bakery and they do offer various hot food items, but not many. There is a very, very small pay-at-that-counter sushi place too. They have some prepared Korean foods, mostly the basic banchan items, but it pales in comparison compared to the other Lottes. Hopefully, this is something that will pump up in the future. read more

Despite being a smaller location compared to other Lotte Stores, they have lots of produce and various oriental items. This place is clean and well stocked. The staff is very helpful, especially if you cannot find what you're looking for. There is a pastry/bakery area that looks yummy! Also, there is a Mr. Sushi & Mrs. Roll, where you can eat. It's a small eatery inside. But that is another review for another day. Overall, this is a convenient location. I'm Filipina, so I'm glad to see Tito Al's Chicharron in various flavors and Mama Sita's seasonings. I love this grocery store in general. read more

Even alcoholic beverages like beer, sake, wine, etc... And kitchen items for your cooking needs. Yes, they even have your regular (American) grocery items for your shopping pleasure. Big buckets of kimchee is a highlight as well as the made to order Korean food in the little corner next to the kimchee. You can have a freshly made Beef Bulgogi bowl for $5.95. And it was delicious. It tasted like a home cooked meal. Can't wait to try the other items. Overall, it's a neat place to visit and shop. The prices are fair for some items and cheap for others. P.S. I do majority of my fruit and vegetable purchases at this Lotte location. I choose Lotte because the quality is superb and the price is usually cheaper than most other grocery stores. Here you'll find lots of out of the ordinary produce like bitter melon, Chinese eggplants and a bunch of herbs I've never even heard of. They have an impressive variety of Indian produce, spices and goods. There's a pretty impressive frozen food section of Asian, Indian and other ethnic foods. This location houses "mr. sushi and mrs. roll" which is a great and inexpensive option for a quick Japanese fix. There's also an Indian food stand which isn't as a great deal as the sushi option, in my opinion. You can dine right in the store which has a handful of tables located conveniently next to the refrigerated bottled drinks section. read more

I've actually never been to this chain of stores but my mom loves them. So, on the way to visit them, we stopped in to the Ashburn location on a crazy Sat morning. To our surprise, it was NOT busy. Wow, that's my first reaction to the mega produce department...not only fresh looking but amazing pricing...how is that possible? Producing piled high in our cart, we ventured off to the meat and seafood department...again...Wowza! They had bins of fresh shrimp, lobster, fish and their meat department had all the fun meats(galbi, bulgogki, and others. We stuck to our produce, some shrimp, and jackpot....the spices and noodle aisles! The staff is friendly, there are many cashier stands, no waiting, and easy in/out access! First of all, let's set the record straight - Lotte is a Korean brand. In the Ashburn Lotte, they sell way too many EXPIRED products than you want to know. It gives Korea a bad name. Trust me on this : if you don't see the expiration date clearly printed on a product, don't buy it. Found persimmons in early October. They didn't look ripe but they tasted ripe. Pomegranites weren't big in size yet but were a good price. Instant ramen bowls were not a huge selection but it will make due. Found a bag of Filipino crispy bananas that was so delicious. Food court area: mango lassi!!!!!! $3 and it tasted so good. Had some slight yogurt chunks and not sure if that was suppose to happen as it was my second mango lassi ever had. Taste was so delicious though. Would rather try the Lotte in Chantilly as I see they have dim sum and a Korean bakery. Wish this place had that. So I might frequent that Lotte more often. International food market. I was slightly taken aback by the smell, I'm not sure if it was the people or the food or if I'm just too white to appreciate it. They have foods of all different kinds, tons of fruit that I wouldn't know how to eat and whole fish, head and all. I was also amused by the quail eggs and duck eggs that they had next to the regular chicken eggs. This past weekend i shopped at Lotte in Ashburn, VA for essentials to prepare my family and i during these uncertain times due to the corona virus. I picked up a pack of toilet paper and was glad that i found some in stock with no price listed. After check out i reviewed my receipt and found out that the price for an 8 pack of toilet paper that is usually found at Walmart or Target for $9.99 was marked up to $19.99 at your store !!! This was almost a 100% mark up! When i went back to return, the manager asked if i was sure i wanted to return it because it was going to go up in price the next day! I understand supply and demand. But during unstable times like the ones we are currently in major companies like Lotte should not take advantage of the situation and stick to human morals! On your website you say "You pride yourself with honest service and your customers" This really shows consumers the ethics behind a company and yours was really clear that day. An excellent Asian market with pretty much everything you could want. Ever! They have hard to find fresh fruits (like dragon fruit), They have a lot of foods from Eastern Asian (from India to Japan). I you're looking for fresh curries, miso, seaweed, or rice (of which they have every kind imaginable) this is your store. Everything you ever needed (and never you needed, or never knew event existed) can be found here. They also sell Samancho (a Korean fish-shaped ice cream sandwich with red bean paste). It's amazing, and hands down my favorite snack food. We were at Lotte Plaza when the power went out, and the staff handled the outage like pros. I'm not sure if the power goes out a lot, but they were organized, responsible, on the ball and handled it amazingly. Definitely impressed. read more

There's plentiful ethnic food, most of it at decent prices. They have a wide variety of fresh vegetables and fruits, most of which are very attractively priced, but whose quality is sub standard. The place reeks from sea food and it's very noticeable from the moment you get in the store. The checkout clerks barely speak any English, so no point in asking them for any assistance and/or a price clarification. We visit them once a month to stock up on the frozen veggies and other unique groceries that aren't available at other places. read more
