I was standing at the deli counter at the Brunswick Giant Eagle. It was well after the deli was open, no one was there. I stood waiting and then a deli counter worker came out, however did not glance up in my direction, by the counter where customers stand. I waited patiently for her to notice me. However, she just went about her business of slicing lunch meat. I then said "Hello". Nothing, then i said "Good Morning." Still nothing, never once glanced up to check if per chance she had a customer. So i just walked off without getting anything, I'm sure it was no skin off her nose. read more

Went to the store last night to get soda that was advertised on sale by two. Get one free pick up six sodas each $9.29 apiece. They ring up the free item discounted at $6.40 when I question this I was told that Bart root beer and Fanta was not a Coke product then flipped the case over and showed them where it said Coca-Cola produces these products. She then went back to the aisle, came up and told me again that they were not Coke products and they were not on sale. I walk back with the manager and showed her where I picked them upwith signage, her name was Lisa very rude. She still told me after showing her the signs that they were not on sale. I told her I would move these items. She said they don't stock them come does I explain that I am at giant eagle not Coke. read more

I am beyond upset, disappointed, and embarrassed! Worst cake decoration ever! I ordered a cake for my best friends 40th bday. I wanted to do something nice for her, and it was ruined! Giant Eagle was never my first option to get a cake, but I had no other option. They did not get anything right! There was supposed to be a picture I printed out and gave them on the cake. I got NO image. I printed out a picture of the exact font and what I wanted the cake to say. Not only does it look like a 3rd grader wrote it, but there's a misspelling too! Giant Eagle - The one WHERE they F***ed up the cake - Grocery Near Me - Brunswick, Ohio

I got a Paper ad for16-21 shrimp for $6.99 per pound. I planned on buying two pounds so when I found them in a two pound bag it was typical. I couldn't find shrimp marked 6.99 so I asked the elderly fish person. She was obviously bothered I asked her. She showed be a different product for $9.99 and I showed the add. As she walked away she said she didn't have any and was gone. I looked again and found the right bag from the right vendor. There were a couple of bags one had obviously been defrosted and refrozen having lots of frost so I picked the other one and went to the check out with other items. The Shrimp didn't ring correctly an i show the nice checkout girl the ad. She called s heavy set manager (Katy?) Katy was short tempered and instead of ringing it off took the bag, went back to the fish department to "check" the ad was the authority and I showed her it was the right vendor and size. She returned with the bag with the refrozen shrimp and was so short tempered and pushy it was obvious she didn't want to hear from me. Well I got it home and packaged it for my freezer and it smells terrible. I guess she decided at a lower advertised price I didn't deserve a quality product. By the time she showed her displeasure for my expecting her to do her job and walked off in a huff. Then I picked up my bags and started to walk out snd she demanded I take my cart to the cart line in front without thinking she had already made my experience the worst in several years and more likely ever! read more

I remember Giant Eagle was nothing that out there and interesting but my dad seemed to enjoy it well enough to shop there every week for groceries after Tops shut down. I personally never really cared for it but there are some good and bad things that I discovered in this supermarket. They have a nice selection of pre-made foods such as thier own personal bakery and salad bars, both of which tasted really good and was the sole thing that kept me going back. It's a large store with the aisles all arranged like domino's but each neatly stacked on the shelves. I like Giant Eagle for what it is but as is, it is nothing to get all excited about...it's just good, but not super. read more

Hope the reno took care of that rank fish smell that lurked around the seafood dept and extended to bakery and deli. I never made it past produce and when I was in a pinch for dry cleaning they had a couple righteous ladies working over there. Still happy to not frequent anymore. read more

This store is unique as far as giant eagles go. The beer selection is ridiculous, in a good way. By far the best beer selection I've seen at any grocery store with more choices for the "create your own six pack". My boyfriend loves to try different beers and we could walk around that section all day looking for new bottles to take home. They have a good selection of gluten free products for a fair price. Much cheaper than the specialty grocery stores I have tried. Beauty selections, ready made food, "eat in" café...these are some of the new additions they've made in the past couple years that really make it stand out. I'm not a big fan of the home made organic soaps, (frankly I think they smell horrible) but there is a huge display in the beauty department for people who enjoy that sort of thing. Hopefully you never have a problem with courtesy, or expensive cuts of meat! Supposed to give u double your money back on their products, but apparently there is a limit. They stated to me "that's very expensive" they didn't want to lose money, but I guess it's ok for customer. Manager would not show his face, after I called to complain, clerk said he had a"safety" problem he had to deal with. When I wrote to district manager, he emailed, that he totally trusts his manager and never had problem with him. So he made me realize they just don't care about customer. Guess they feel here in Brunswick we don't have much of a choice. I spend at the least 200.00 a week there for years. It's a shame, wish we had another high quality grocery store in town. read more

Where do I start? With the lack of customer service? With the low quality of produce? Spoiled fish? Or maybe with the fact that I should be prepared to check myself out even though I am paying top dollar for groceries. When I do get a cashier, they forget to put one of my bags in the cart almost every time! Do you know how frustrating it is to get home find items missing that you really needed? Then you can go back to the store to stand in line at customer service. I hate this store, but it is the only place that I can find certain items near home. We need a better grocery store in Brunswick! read more

Very unique grocery store because of the size of their pre-made food section. They make delicious pizzas, sushi, offer a huge salad bar and prepared food bar, and their selections are delicious. I go here almost every day for lunch because of its proximity to my workplace. Much better alternative to all the fast food places nearby. Their lemon chicken salad (at the deli) is phenomenal, as well as their buffalo chicken pizza and crunchy sushi. Only problem I have with their salad bar is that the lettuce (be it mixed green, spinach, romain, or iceberg) is not entirely fresh most of the time. You kind of have to pick through the pieces to get the freshest available. But it's not that big of a hassle. And you can use the food you purchase towards fuel perks (another reason to go for lunch). read more

The worst lay out ever. Difficult to get in and out of due to all the displays right at the opening of the store. It's as if they want to jam in as many items as possible. They place seasonal items in between the isles making it impossible to get around. The store is just to small to accommodate the Brunswick area. read more

My review is based on the Bakery alone at the Brunswick Giant Eagle. Ordered cake online for a baby shower. Email shows accepted, then get a phone call asking for me to call them. when I called, the lady was very rude, stating that the cake is no longer available. She did not on her own, offer other suggestions of possible baby shower cakes that they COULD make. Instead I asked about another one, and again said no. Only thing we have right now is a cake with pink booties. I ended up ordering from Market District with no problems. The day I'm picking up the cake from Market District, I get a phone call from the Brunswick GE asking if I cancelled my order and to call them back. I did not call back. They called again, left voicemail stating they aren't sure if I canceled or not. I ended up calling them, and again rude, and rushing to get off the phone, I guess to make donuts or something else. Once she confirmed with me that it's not needed, she said ok. click. I won't order any personal cakes from them anymore, I'd rather deal with someone who wants my business and takes pride in their job. read more

Prices are so much expensive than the other major grocery store in Brunswick, the lines are so long, they don't have baggers and they don't load your car either like the other one does for free. But the worst thing about this Giant Eagle is the smell of rotten meat and rotting fish that fills the meat department, it is so disgusting. Even my sister from out of town stopped in there and noticed the horrible rotting meat odor. read more

I'm posting this in regard to the in-store Bakery. I've shopped at Giant Eagle out of convenience. I don't want to make it a habit. I will, however, skip the bakery from now on. In summer, the self-serve donut case was filled with flies, to the point that the Medina County Health Department visited to check the situation due to customer complaints. Hairs are often found on cookies and other items. Aren't sanitary procedures followed here? Walking by the counter, you can hear a lot of coughing in the bakery, which makes me think how much crap ends up on the food. Needless to say I don't buy anything at all from them. A new location in the store is being prepared as part of Giant Eagle's renovation...I hope that the new bakery is clean and they hire people who are not pigs. But still I will buy nothing from here. Most of their products arrive frozen and are simply heated in the oven. You might as well buy Entenmann's or Hostess- cheaper and I guess much more sanitary. read more
