I'm not exactly sure why it's saying that this location is permanently/temporarily closed but I was just there today so it is open for business, but maybe they should close for a few days to revamp their vegetable fruit area. The vegetables were limp lifeless, and all the lettuce was brown. I tried to buy some cilantro and parsley at this location and left without it because there was so much brown. Wilted leaves on the parsley that it was limp and falling over it was insane that they were actually trying to sell the cilantro for $1.99 a bunch whoever is in charge of produce needs to be talked to other than that the store was fine and I usually have a good experience at giant eagle but not today.. on the other hand the person that checked me out, I believe her name was ELLE. She was very sweet, helpful and very courteous to me as I was checking out with my groceries hats off to her.! read more

I wanted to update my review on this Giant Eagle. It's gone significantly downhill in the past few years. The poorly designed checkout area means confusion in the lines since people are crushed together if there's a crowd. And forget about trying to make your way through with your cart. Since they're forcing customers to mostly use self checkout, I only go here out of necessity. Recently a woman had a meltdown in the pharmacy area and police were called. The high prices, lack of cart corrals, poor variety of products and self scanning make it not worth it if you can avoid it. read more

This newly remodeled Giant Eagle became a Market District Giant Eagle and celebrated by having celebrity Cooking Chef Marcus Samuelsson. He demonstrated cooking Spicy Fried Chicken Bolognese. Many people in the audience were able to sample the finished dish. It did smell really good! The Chef talked about his upbringing and how he became who he is today, Lots of free samples of food were available throughout the store. read more

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this before. In fact, I'm sure I have, and it wasn't a great one. Yelp has been weird lately. It's the closest grocery to us, and we hardly ever go there, which says something. If we need one or two things real quick we will stop by. Otherwise, generally Meijer. GE is expensive, sometimes even more than Kroger. Their selection is spotty; fine in general, but not as big as some places. Lately they have gotten rid of plastic bags, and charged for paper ones, and especially not going often I never remember to grab a bag from the car. Also, since Covid, no shopping baskets. Super annoying. And I was ready to write a bad review for today's visit (or update to my previous one, which I distinctly remember writing.) High prices on the first things I got, no baskets, not looking forward to no bags at checkout. But, we needed shredded cheese, and it was on a good sale ($1 instead of $2.39,) so I gave them a break. Then there was no line, odd for a weekend. And the clerk was nice, and gave me a bag without asking (or charging.) So, pretty good experience all in all. Still not my first choice. I only come here as a last resort. But I will try to bring a bag next time, and give them a chance to surprise me with a sale. read more

We have a small GE in Bexley but it is hard to shop there for a major trip. Therefore this one i On Stelzer Road is the next closest. I hate going there. Never enough staff. Never enough cashiers as they try to push you to self checkout. Lines for cashier checkout are routinely 6-7 shoppers deep. Staff for the weekends! For the last three weeks, there's been a sign up at the deli that whoever was working would be back after their break. Not enough staff. Long wait times. Management that doesn't care. I truly hate this location. read more

The one good thing GE has going for it - it is literally a mile (.9) from my house. So it has convenience out the wazoo. Unfortunately, that's about it. It really is the place I go to when I forgot an item at Kroger or Aldi. And there are some things that they just don't carry. Pretty much no store brand options in the healthy, sugar free, variety I buy. Or even Peter Pan PB for hubby. So I get my bananas here and appreciate it when they have reduced sale 99 sent old bags of bananas. I love to peel and freeze though for future use - a great deal. They also have good clearance items - but not very often. The pic I posted showed some decent prices for baking items. I may buy an energy drink as they always keep Monster at $2. Or if something else is on sale. Even their eAdvantage weekly deal is not that great - although Kroger's Friday Freebie has pretty much all but gone away - so they outlived their competition there. And their digital coupons are average or less. So I'm not sure if it's just location that drives the selection. I don't shop other GEs for the reasons I stated above - assuming they would be no different. And the prices on the things I might buy are just not competitive. So love to have it close when I need it but don't buy much here. read more

Shopped here this week for the first time in 10 years. They removed the food court area, which sucks, but I assume that's due to COV1D. Upon arrival, I noticed a cop patrolling the entrance/exit of the store, which made me think "there must be a lot of crime here", but my grocery shopping experience was great. I felt very safe while in store, the employees were nice (besides the guy at the check out counter, he never responded to any of my questions which is the reason for 1 star missing). The groceries were all stocked well, the store was very clean and the prices were comparable to other grocery stores. read more

They remodeled this store and made it look pretty. The food quality is the same, but now double the price. Went shopping after work around 5pm and the store was nearly empty. I don't think anyone wants to pay these prices... But the most upsetting thing about this store is the lack of staff. It's mostly Uscans. There was one check out lane open with a real person and even when I went through there I had to bag my own groceries. I felt like I was paying extra money for the groceries, but had to do more work to buy them. I've shopped at this location many times, but I think I am officially done with them... read more

A quick shop left us feeling underwhelmed. Greeters were very nice so that was a good start. Clean carts that actually went straight as a plus. Didn't need a whole lot but the beer selection was fun. Well stocked. Bread was ok. Bakery looked nice. Nearly ready to leave but at checkout we needed assistance with our ID checks. Flashlight light and no assistance. Four employees chatting couldn't be bothered. I had to ask for help and upon doing so got a death glare from the female clerk. She never asked for dates just cleared the screen and marched off. No excuse me, or I'm sorry. Thanks for shopping.. nothing. Not a good feeling and probably wont be back. Two stars only because not everyone in that store is sour and in need of retraining on customer service. read more

One of my favorite places to get seafood is this Giant Eagle. I don't eat frozen food so I'm particular about where I can conveniently get it. Typically I come here for the Salmon. Why? Well, because I haven't found another place in the city that has unfrozen boneless/skinless salmon readily available (obvs, if you know of a place that has it fresher, help your girl out). Anywho, I am always able to get what I come for: Salmon, Shrimp, Scallops, etc. I once came at the tail end of the Seafood department's hours of operation and there was a super nice guy that cut me some salmon from a bull that wasn't out, because they were gone up front. It's that kind of service that keeps me wanting to shop here, even though people think they are high priced. I especially, like the new "fuel perks for gas or groceries" program they have going on. I never utilize it for groceries, but I love that the option is there, should I need it! Grade: A- read more

I'm not really a fan of Giant Eagle but I shop here because it's closer to my house then Krogers. The prices here are kinda high compared to the other guys. I do like their fuel points rewards program, it's wonderful for every $50 spent you get 20 cents off you can't beat that and none of the other guys have anything close to this. I also like their double coupons because the other guys no longer do double coupons. I don't like the availability of items I normally buy. Some of their items cost twice as much or more than I would normally pay for them at Kroger. But until they build a Kroger closer to me, I will have to continue to go to Giant Eagle. read more

Fills the need in an otherwise barren grocery desert minus the Walmart all the way up on Morse Rd. Store is stocked well and there is always plenty of parking. However, the staff isn't usually the most helpful and prices are a tad high. However the price is kind of worth the convenience of its location. read more

I want to give this review, especially for G.E. Stelzer Rd., Curbside Delivery Service. The workers in-house and delivery workers are the best. Thank you for ALWAYS delivering on time, and, when something is not available you have called to let me know. Once when I called to add to the order, the worker always answers with a smile (you can tell people are smiling, even on the phone),then made sure that the item was added. So, again, for me, this curbside service is the best and I have tried others in the city. Thanks to all of you. God bless and continue to be safe. read more

This is a really frustrating Giant Eagle. Even before they started all the remodeling, it was frustrating, and now it's even more so. Nothing is where it should be, it seems. I often have to cruise the store once or twice after I've done the bulk of my shopping looking for that one item or two that I couldn't find the first time. Aside from that, I've always found the employees to be very friendly and willing to help, especially at the meat counter. They do have a pretty wide produce selection, and they've added a state liquor store inside. Like I said, lots of remodeling going on right now. I'm hoping the store layout and location of items makes more sense after they're done. read more

Unfortunately for me, this is the closest grocery store to my house. If I'm just stopping for one or two things it'll do. If I have a decent sized list, you can COUNT on them not having something in stock. Usually it's soda and (to add to the fun) it's the soda they have on sale. I've talked to the manager about it before, and he blames the soft drink distributors which is a convenient excuse. He claims they are 100% in charge of stocking the soda. This seems ridiculous since Giant Eagle decides what they want to put on sale, not Pepsi. If the store is having a sale, I find it hard to believe that a manager can't demand that the distributor stock the store properly to make sure they have enough of what they advertise. Kroger doesn't seem to have this same problem. More often than not, I end up going to a Kroger farther away to save myself the trouble of making 2 grocery trips due to Giant Eagle's stocking issues. read more

Curbside Express is a disaster at this location. Many items incorrect, double charged for multiple items. Went back for missing items and called 4 times with no answer. Went inside (hello curbside?) and still had to wait 10 more minutes on 1 bag they forgot earlier. Finally came out but with someone else's order that was wrong from earlier. Came out a second time and still didn't have all the items. At this point we gave up and just left. read more

I work close by so I come in regularly for lunch or one-off type of shopping. I usually don't buy my groceries at Giant Eagle because they're a little more expensive and not as convenient to my home as some other grocers. I enjoy this location for lunch from time to time, and the Fuel Perks I get from gift card purchases saves me on my gas costs. This store is a little smaller than other GEs, but it's well kept as most GEs are. The employees here are all very helpful. Today I grabbed a to go "Chef Sampler A" sushi box which is an assortment of tuna, salmon, and imitation crab maki and nigiri pieces. It cost $11.99 which may seem like a bit much, but it was quite a bit of sushi and the quality was pretty good too. In the past I've had their hot bar and cold bar where you can put together a pretty good meal and pay by the pound. I don't remember the cost, but it is also on the high side. If you want to dine-in, they have a section with ample seating. read more

I ordered a cake, online, on Giant Eagle's website. I ordered it on 6/15/15 for pick up on 6/26/15. I arrive today, confirmation email in hand...and they do not have my cake, nor any record of it. I was asked if I was certain that I ordered it...well, here is the confirmation paperwork, you know, confirming the ORDER THAT I PLACED! So, YES, I am certain I ordered the cake, and was indeed at the correct store, on the correct date. The lady at the bakery counter said she could make a cake for me today, for pick up in the morning, which was nice. I do understand it isn't her fault. She did advise that the bakery manager took the orders off the website daily, so I believe the manager should be held accountable. This issue is causing delays for us and unscheduled stops on the day of the event, had we received the cake today...we wouldn't have to worry about this. read more

We are giant eagle shoppers. After we bought our house we didn't have a close one for us to use. So we had to drive out of our way each week. Once this location opened it became our regular. Given its not as "nice" as some of other "GEs" but it gets the job done. Plus they added a liquor department a few years ago ;-) read more

Giant eagle produces a ton of trash making the entire neighborhood look dirty. This includes trash in the parking lot, the neighborhood towne park, the land by the fire station, and stelzer/mccutcheon roads. Please have a crew cleanup on a regular basis to make the neighborhood look clean and litter free. read more

The quality of the dry cleaning is good but the service at the pick up counter is terrible. They normally have one person covering the customer service desk and dry cleaning. No way one person can do it all. Last night they had 5 people in line at either the service desk or dry cleaning and only one employee. That person wanted to go to dinner, and made it known. She left the counter to go into the office to find someone to cover for her while we all stood there WAITING! Often the cashiers are roaming talking to one another because they have no customers while we all wait for one person to take care of all of us. Where is the store manager?? They should float people to take care of customers! read more

Not really much to say, over the years, I usually go to the nearest most convenient grocery store. Ever since they built this one, it's on the way to and from work for me, so it's super convenient to stop here. Friendly staff and clean store. I don't really have much else to add, but I do have a good story. Back in May or June they had signs posted all over the store for curbside checkout. So, the following week I went to the website they had posted. There were three stores to choose from, Gahanna was listed, so I chose that store, thinking it was for the Stelzer Rd location, out of the three it was the only one close to me, and they had all those signs up. I ordered my goods, selected my pickup time and off I went after work to check this service out. I got to the store, pulled up at the front, and waited for a minute or two. No one there or shows up so I got out of my car, went to the customer service desk and told the nice lady I was here to pickup my curbside order. She first looked at me a little confused and then told me my order wasn't at this store, but at the Hamilton Rd store. I asked her to make sure, because I saw the signs in the store the last time I was there and placed an order online. She told me the Stelzer Rd store wasn't ready yet, and they recently pulled those signs down. But Hamilton Rd was up and running. So I headed over there, parked in the marked spots for curbside pickup and called the number they had listed on a sign out front. It rang and rang and rang. So once again, I got out of my car, went inside, found an employee and told them I was attempting to pickup a curbside pickup. The nice lady pointed me in the direction of the room they were using and I was able to get my order. I learned the phone was not working that day, so I recommended they should at least put a sign up to let people know. When I got home, I filled out a survey about my experience and explained everything I just did above. A representative called me to apologize about the bad experience. He also told me he listened to what I suggested and now the website doesn't list it as just the Gahanna store, but as the Hamilton Rd one. For me, it was too much of a problem, I just happened to run into one after another for a service they just started and haven't quite go the hang of yet. As a service, it's great if you don't want to spend a the time in the store. I order a lot of fresh produce and that was my only concern, since I do like to choose what looks the freshest and best. I was happy in what they had chose for me. I think it will be a good service once they have some more experience with how new it is. read more

This grocery store feels gross and is poorly stocked. We live close by and over the past few years they don't seem to stock with as much as much variety as they used to. To get peppers I now have to ask for the service of a staff member. They seem to always be rearranging. read more

I enjoy grocery shopping, it's almost therapeutic for me. Even though I'm not buying a whole year's worth of food, I like to go isle by isle and see what they have or check out if there is anything new out. Giant Eagle in Easton off of Steltzer Road is everything I can ask for in a upscale grocery store and then some. Their wide selection of fresh produce to meats and deli items are impressive. You would think grocery would be expensive with all their gourmet selections, but it's actually VERY affordable!!!! I wouldn't consider myself a wine enthusiast, but you should really check out their wine and beer section!! It would make any liquor store cry in shame!!! The store is clean overall and all the merchandise are neatly organized and/or stacked. The store is overall visually appealing~ Oh and check this out: the have a Dry Cleaners and Alterations inside this grocery store!!!! I was like, "Whaaaa??!!" They also have a DVD Rental area inside a store for your convenience aside from having Red Box right outside their building. And with a grocery store like this, you know they would be equipped with their own gas station! This Giant Eagle is like your one-stop to all your daily needs store!!!! What more can I ask?? Hardly was there ever a time where I feel so strongly about a grocery store, I'm so hooked~ To make this even sweeter? They have SONIC Drive-In in the same plaza!!!! I hear the names Sam's, Wal-mart, and Kroger in my mind slower disappearing... oh and it's gone... I'm sorry, what was that again?? Just Kidding...
