Very unprofessional and disappointing experience I came to the Mayfield Heights Giant Eagle (6259 Mayfield Road, Mayfield Heights, OH 44124) to pick up prescription medication for my mom and decided to do some grocery shopping as well. At the self-checkout, I needed help paying for a single item without a barcode. I had to press the assistance button multiple times before anyone responded. When someone who identified himself as a manager finally came, he was extremely rude and condescending instead of helpful. His appearance was sloppy, and his attitude made me feel belittled rather than assisted. This level of customer service was shocking. I then went to customer service to speak with the store manager, but despite waiting and repeated calls, no manager ever came. I usually shop at Heinen's or Costco, where professionalism and customer care are clearly a priority. This experience was unacceptable, and I will think twice before returning to Giant Eagle. read more

Please inform anyone that packs up the groceries that they shouldn't mix light things with heavy things for one. Like cans with Pillsbury refrigerated pizza dough in those containers that you Crack open. Don't pack detergent with food. Don't pack fruit with heavy items or cans. Tell them to ask if you want your items packed in the order that they were put on the belt! A few things I bought were ruined!!! Now I have to go back and try to replace items. read more

I am so mad. I brought several bags (4) of collard green for Thanksgiving dinner. This is the day before (27th), I opened the bags, all four bags were rotten. The greens looked slimy, not fresh at all and they smelled terrible. My whole house was left with a foul smell from the greens. I took the greens to the trash, money down the drain. I will never buy bag green again, back to the fresh picked greens. read more

Giant Eagle is my go-to grocery store but this location is not great. They don't offer Scan-and-Go, which is the most convenient way to shop. Also this store never seems to have a great selection of fresh fruits or vegetables. This store also seems a bit dirty and unkept. I think renovations would be a great asset to this location. Not sure why it's left so behind in the times, when there are so many apartments, businesses and houses surrounding it. read more

I was in the area so I stopped in really quickly. This is probably the CLEANEST Giant Eagle I've ever encountered; granted, I did visit early in the morning (7:45am). I had to write a review because the store was just so organized. Nothing was scattered around and everything seemed to be in its place. Service was good. I asked a store employee where the muffins were located and she directed me. I ended up not buying muffins though because I couldn't find any fresh ones. I bought 2 bananas, buttery crackers, and gum. I don't do grocery shop at Giant Eagle anymore because it is actually an expensive store but it isn't too expensive like Whole Foods. I prefer Aldi's or Lucky's Market (although Lucky's can get expensive....haha). When I do come to Giant Eagle, I like to buy snacks because those prices aren't as expensive compared to snacks at a local CVS store. Morning grocery shoppers aren't popular but a store may still get busy. This location only had one woman working at the counter when I arrived so I used the self checkout lane. A very small line was starting to form at the actual checkout lane so this location may need to hire an additional staff member. I walked down the bakery section and I also noticed just one person behind the counter. Of course, by lunch time, I'm sure more staff members will arrive to work. Overall, I had a good experience here so if you need a few items, I recommend coming here. The people working at Chesterland Giant Eagle are always pleasant and helpful. Given the number of people standing in line to check out, it would be helpful if the company would provide some self-checkout. Managers do not hesitate to step in to help customers in long lines. read more

I hate doing this, but attempts to contact Giant Eagle mgmt have failed. I have to suggest that when you shop at giant eagle in Mayfield Heights you shop defensively. That means check dates, check your product even if the date is acceptable, check for mold on bread and cheese. In addition the store is pretty dirty. Typical GE... employees go out of their way to avoid eye contact with the customers but will gladly engage with other employees. All stores are the same EXCEPT for the Solon Market District. Why? IDK - maybe the store culture is different OR the clienete is more upscale and the management/employees are aware of that. Regardless (or irregardless), I go because sometimes I just have no other choice. I wish they would invest more money on training current and new employees to be more friendly and caring - the culture of a company starts at the top. I paid my utility bill at this Mayfield Giant Eagle Location. I keep getting double billed by dominion stating that my bill wasn't paid. Dominion and Giant Eagle in my experience is committing acts of Fraud. Both state that it isn't their problem or I need to call the other to fix the issue... That within itself is an issue. Pay your bills directly. Keep reciepts and if it continues take both to court. Let them explain to a judge why these issues are reoccuring repeatedly read more

Really nice Giant Eagle with a coffee shop area, nice "fresh" area of fruits and veggies, and food from every taste of the world. Priced a little high, but selection is great. I even did computer work in the coffee shop where there was free wifi. read more

Last time shopping here. So unimpressed. Libbye should not be doing whatever she's doing. From what I saw she's just in the way. Marie T doesn't know what she's able to do as a cashier I got to go back and forth to the customer service desk. Amazingly she bagged my groceries but puts the strawberries lettuce and bananas on the bottom of the cart and puts cans on top of them. read more

Went to pick up a few things. I was in a hurry so I wanted to find items quickly. I asked three different people where the pita bread was and no one knew. One employee didn't even know what pita was. Probably the most frustrating Giant Eagle in Cleveland, I come in on both Tuesday's and Weds to find only 1 lane open for check out. "use the self-check-out lanes" would be a great idea if you didn't HAVE to give your personal info and be a Giant Eagle member to even check out using the self checkout, I mean why even bother when it's an inconvenience at every turn. I am never happy with the store configuration here. I always seem to be looking in the wrong places for stuff. They also don't carry all of the Giant Eagle "foodie" house brands. I really don't like this location. I never felt the need to review a grocery store, but I agree with another reviewer here that this store's organization is deplorable. I always find things in odd places, I spend way more time looking for things than I feel comfortable with when I have meat in my cart. I spent easily half of my time back tracking to isles I'd already been too trying to find obscurely placed items. Also, instead of Giant Eagle it would be call Limited Eagle. The frozen section was limited, I couldn't find frozen fruit or gnocchi. The produce section is extremely limited and all over the place. Couldn't find garlic, don't think they had plantains. The deli people are friendly, but again your choices are again, limited. What deli doesn't supply genuine regular cheddar? They only had American, American blend and a sharp cheddar. Couldn't find an real maple syrup other than their 100% "real" GE brand. Nothing local seems to be sold here, AT ALL. I came in with a few recipes in hand and walked out only able to supply ingredients for half of them with substitutions. Unless you are only looking for very common items and don't care for any real variety with regard to brands and options beyond typical Kraft, Nestle, Tyson and Market District, Etc . . . Giant Eagle stores as a whole are super expensive! This store is no exception but as for the store As a single entity, it is pretty nice. Huge wine selection! Nice dairy and we always use the bakery. Great cakes and bagels. The thing that makes this store stand out is the employees. MOST OF THEM are really super friendly and helpful! JIm, Ivan, Justin,Valory .... To name a few. The CSPs can be a bit crotchety but I know they work long hours So I give them a break! What can I say? It's close by and convenient . read more

I have been going to this location for years and today was awful. I used Good Rx for my prescriptions which I have done for the last 7 months. But before that I was self pay no insurance and I spent thousands of dollars a year. I was also a pharmacy technician in the past. The pharmacist was rude the technician was rude. Made me wait 40 minutes to price check with Walmart (4.00 Synthroid) and then lied about price of verapamil. I am going to just switch to Walmart for my Rx and I have used giant eagle for over ten years but they seem to want to make it hard to use Good Rx and don't care that some people need Rx and they are expensive and if I can save money it's their job to honor my request for price match and Good Rx. Not to be made to feel like I am putting the pharmacist out by asking for discount pricing that is freely available through the internet. read more

We came to this Giant Eagle to do some pregame tailgate shopping. They don't have any Kroger or Meijer's in Cleveland, Giant Eagle is the place to go. Nothing out of the ordinary for the grocery mart. Decently price items and pretty much anything you need you will find here. I did use the men's washroom and it was not the cleanest thing in the world. But when your down 6 and there's 1 second left on the clock on the 50 yard line you have to throw the hail mary. This Giant Eagle location is much nicer then the location closest to my house in Willoughby Hills. The layout might be a little more scattered but the produce alone will make me drive the extra couple miles. There is no gas station at this location but there is one further down Mayfield, heading west. There is also a double Redbox so the lines are minimal. read more

This store has the worst customer service. One checkout line open, no matter what time of day it is. The employees are unfriendly and outright rude! They are always blocking the aisles and have the nerve to be irritated when you can't get by or reach an item. I always have to pack my own groceries while I see employees standing around doing nothing. I don't know how this store stays in business. Honestly , they do not care about their customers whatsoever. I'm hoping a grocery store opens soon in Golden Gate and takes all their business! read more

I really like this Giant Eagle location. Everyone is friendlier, things are kept much nicer and the store itself has a more pleasant feel than the other location that's closer to me on Mayfield. I've never had any trouble finding help if I need it and people seem aware of the fact that they're at work here, not just hanging out and scoffing at shoppers. Overall, if I'm not in a hurry and the traffic isn't bad, I'll make the trek here if I'm set on getting to GE for a better experience. Plus, it puts me closer to the Golden Gate Plaza and I'm always looking for an excuse to browse there. read more
