It is Giant. It is super clean on the inside. The setup is a little different then some of the other locations I have been to, I attribute that to it being a bigger location. All the staple sections are there. The store was super clean which is always a super plus in my book! I noticed they have more premade and ready to cook selections than some of the other locations. The precut fruit was looking fantastic as well. The slow ambiance filled music playing in the background will have you wondering if you should be slow dancing in the aisle as the store is dimly lit on the inside. The bonus was I had a hard time finding taco shells of all things. As I stood in the middle of aisle 8 and asked a gentleman who was stocking the shelf if he worked there her responded no but he does so I turn around and the other gentleman stops and says how can I help you ma'am. I advised I was looking for taco shells and it was like he was in unison with the music as he replied aisle 16. Taco shells in hand, made my way to the checkout and was on my way. They do have several self check outs for use if you like to ring up your own groceries but as for me, I still go through the regular check out lines, you know, to help save jobs. read more

This is your basic grocery store with pretty much all of the essentials you could use. I came with the intent of finding a few fresh herbs for a soup I wanted to make. The produce department had fresh fruits and veggies and i didn't notice any that was past their prime. Always a good thing! However I needed some fresh dill and was disappointed in not finding this pretty commonplace herb. They did however offer the small squeeze tube that costs way too much for a one-time recipe. Also I'm sure I could have found the dried shaker but again, I needed fresh. Parsley was well represented with two varieties of fresh to choose from. The layout of the store is very common sense. I did need help finding egg noodles (several varieties to choose including whole grain and whole wheat btw!) I asked a nice worker who stopped stocking the shelf to walk me to the correct isle. Very nice customer service. Lastly I was pleased to see a sample being offered. I believe it was a Bubba burger being cooked up George Foreman style. Nice little piece to spark evening meal ideas. I wish I could do 4 or 5 stars for this grocery store but after the likes of Wegmans and the Harris Teeter's & Fresh Markets of the world I have to stick with 3 stars. read more

It's funny I go into giant a couple times a week and I'm useally tired from work. I get the few things I need for the night and I have noticed this man kinda big tall guy working in there and I just wanted the management to know that he is so personable, positive and uplifting . I think he is a cashier. I will have to get his name next time because having people like him working for you does a great service for your buisness. Giant is a fantastic store. They have a wide selection, friendly service, and are very clean. They also honor the fact that if an item rings up incorrectly, it is free. The store has come up in the last twenty years into a great store. Reasonable prices and lots of parking! read more

You know what I really appreciate about this store. The sign on the front door "as per CDC guidelines we appreciate vaccinated and unvaccinated customers still wear masks while in the store to prevent further spread of COVID (Paraphrased). Then when I enter the store less than half of the employees are wearing masks while working. Namely the ones stocking their shelves (touching the boxes and foods we are purchasing) and then the employee that is working the self checkout lanes walking around helping customers touching the machines we are using to pay is not only not wearing a mask but also COUGHING INTO HER HANDS!!!! read more

This store is well kept ! Always clean and stuff is wonderful , nice and polite . I've left my wallet at the self pay station while checking out . Next morning I've realized that and gave a call to customer service , they had my wallet safe . All of my belonging were inside untouched .Thank you guys !!! read more

This Giant location, unlike the University Mall Fairfax location, actually grilled my sandwich like I asked. Customers are suppose to be able to pull a sandwich from the front section and have the option to grill it, which the Fairfax location wouldn't do. Some guy with a blonde ponytail grilled my sandwich and did an excellent job. He and his deli staff colleagues seemed to be happy and willing to help! Excellent customer service, good availability of Boars Head brand sandwiches, and a great location. Clearly this manager knows how to properly hire and train his/her staff. Needed to find a grocery store in the Manassas area to pick up a few things for our camping trip. Checked local flyers on Flipp and Giant seemed to have what we were looking for on sale. Corn was 10 ears for $2.00, watermelon was $2.99, and Nathan's hotdogs were buy one get one free. Not a huge fan of this Giant. I used to go to the Food Lion when it was open for easy stuff. I'd rather drive down Hastings and go to Harris Teeter. I went to the pharmacy to buy Sudafed. Because it is far better than what is stocked on the aisle. The lady that I spoke with left for a couple minutes then told me that she didn't have the log book and this was not the store she usually works at. No apology or anything else. Recently renovated. This store has it all. But, I find that you need to be careful because they can be pricey. It is convenient to us, so we stop by frequently to "fill in," with our main shopping outings determined by what store meets our needs the best based on our total shopping list. Sometimes there is insufficient help up front at the checkouts and you can wait in line for quite a while. Also, we did have this as our primary pharmacy but switched because it was consistently 45 minutes to fill a prescription at this Giant Pharmacy counter, and Shoppers does it in 10 minutes on average. read more

This store is clean and we'll stocked. I really like most of their store brand products. However. .... I am disabled and slow walking. That being said. During checkout the lady rushed everything through the checkout process and took my money then immediately started checking out the person behind me.! I had to hurry as fast as I could to get the weeks worth of groceries into my cart. She seemed irritated that my things were in the way. And so did the man she was checking out behind me. It was so embarrassing. I will never ever shop there again. I will drive longer and pay more to be treated better. read more

I normally love this Giant but this one experience with this one worker made me doubt it and how/who they were hiring I went there to purchase one item and as I sat the Visa $20-$500 gift card on the conveyor belt And off the bat the lady almost gave the card to another costumer and it wasn't even payed yet then after that I asked the lady if I could load $45 and she seemed annoyed and answer with a stern No, after realizing the mistake she made and seeing it's a $20-$500 she doesn't say sorry but then proceeds to say it's going to be $50! And had this tone in her voice questioning if I could afford it and I said yes I know and gave her $60 after she gave me my change she puts my card on the counter and gives me the change and doesn't say anything then goes on to do another costumers order. This was very disappointing because I enjoy this Giant and it's friendly workers like Elijah for say He always greets me when ever he sees me or any one as a matter of fact and just gives off a friendly vibe :) read more

BUYER BEWARE. The Stop-n-Shop takeover of Giant is the worst thing to ever happen to a local grocer. Giant is not the Washington DC store it once was. You can expect to pay higher prices for virtually everything. The quality and variety of products has deteriorated. Shelves are not restock adequately. Milk is often out or worse, expired. Produce is horrible. If you are willing to drive the distance, you are much better off at Wegmans. Buy Dairy Pure? Go across the street to Walgreens, which is typically less expensive. Want Wine? Expect to be gouged. Their sales prices are often between $5 and $10 more than other grocers (except Harris Teeter, who is also excessively high). My final frustration is related to the BioFreeze product line. I have been buying their products at Giant over the past year. Three weeks ago, the 3 oz tube was $11.99. Yesterday, I noticed that it was "on sale" for $12.99 from the regular price of $11.99. Go to Target, as they are less expensive. read more

I don't find this Giant to be THAT bad as other reviewers make it out to be. Granted, I know better to make Giant my go to grocery store - it's definitely a notch down from Wegman's or my go to Harris Teeter on the grocery store food chain. (Pun thoroughly intended) But it's fine for picking up a few items in a pinch. I live in the townhouses that back up to this shopping center, so it's a short walk for me if I need to make an ice cream run, or need a few key items for dinner. A couple of positives about Giant - first, they have a really good craft beer selection - I'd say it's a little bit better than the one at Harris Teeter. Unfortunately, it can be a bit of a mess. They have a nice selection of warm beer on the shelf with many things that the Teeter doesn't carry, and a larger selection of "big bottle" beer. Their cold craft beer selection is slightly smaller than Harris Teeter, but they do have a "build your own 6 pack" selection. The problem with this is that you're only supposed to choose from a limited selection of cold single beers for the build your own, but people pick over the warm shelved beers because the build you own 6 pack makes those beers CHEAPER than buying them properly. For example, all of the Founders Breakfast Stout was picked over - it's $12 for a 4-pack, but is a better deal when you sneak a couple into the build your own 6-pack at $10.50. The cashiers don't notice this, and it's even easier to pull off when you go through self-checkout. The produce is OK but things like meats, deli items, and seafood I wouldn't trust here. (Although I did get some really nice Virginia crab meat here once.) But if I need something in a pinch, I'm fine with walking there rather than getting in the car and driving somewhere else. And if I shop around, I'll find some real deals on sale items. (Last time I went they had a ridiccy sale on K-Cups and I pilfered the heck out of them!) read more

I agree with other posts. It is a very clean store but my experience with the staff is pleasant. It is very pricey though and so I avoid shopping there. I want to shop without getting sticker shock and where there are actual savings for loyal customers. I.e. Prego sauce at Giant was on "SALE" for 2/$5 with my savings card. Regular price at Target is $1.78. I also stopped filling my prescriptions at this location because it takes them too damn long to fill. They want you to shop while you wait but I don't want to most of the time. Who shops when they're sick? Checkout can be frustrating and it takes long lines backing into the aisles before they open additional registers. I get very impatient and have been tempted to abandon my shopping cart and head over to Super Target if I weren't pressed for time. read more

I love this store. It's near my house which makes it very convenient. I usually shop early in the morning so I deal with the older cashiers. They are lovely people and always enjoy having conversations with you. I prefer early morning shopping just for the peace of mind and dealing with less people. read more

Poor customer service, pricey and unreliable employees. A few nice people work there but there is never someone working the self checkouts, especially when you need help with an item. A few times I used the self checkout and there was no receipt paper in the printer. Even though there are people standing at the customer service counter when you walk in, they never seem to be able to say "hello" or "how are you". read more

Not the worst grocery store in town, not the best, either. Seems to always be busy. Shelves stay stocked, good size produce section. Their pharmacy is well-run although they can be a little slow sometimes. However, I have had a few problems with their gas points program, which was the reason I started shopping there in the first place. On two separate trips, I didn't get the points for products at checkout. The first time it happened, I used the self-checkout and was told that sometimes the points don't register in those lanes. Hmm. I had to show the customer service person the flyer and the sign before she would apply the points to my account. The second time, I checked out with a cashier and the points still didn't show up. So I went to customer service - again- and asked them to verify the signs. She went over to the aisle and came back, claiming that there were no signs and I must have been mistaken. That was a bold-faced lie - the signs were right there, clear as day. I got another employee to check and she confirmed that yes, they were there. I pointed this out to the first employee, who just shrugged. They gave me credit for the points, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. My advice is check your receipts carefully and be prepared to put up a fight with customer service. read more

I can't believe this store. I agree with E.A. and Pitbull D.The cashiers look at you in a disgusted way when you take reusable bags. And I know for a fact they hire kids with shady, questionable backgrounds. One was in court for breaking and entering , so I don't trust him to bag my stuff. If you are over 21 and want to buy alcohol be prepared to hold up the line for about 5 minutes or more before the "higher up" comes and checks your id. No one is prepared for anything and I always have people commenting on my food purchases and looking at labels as they scan. I don't want small talk about my food, just ring me up and send me on my way. I try to avoid the place since security doesn't seem to get rid of the loafers who hang out in front of the store. It is clean, but pricey. Check out is too slow, even when you use self-checkout. I will say there are a couple of nice, fast paced employees, but they are too few to make this a consistent stop for groceries. Just go someplace else if you can. read more

I went in to buy pepsi 2 liter products 8 for 88cents, I had 2 different transactions. It didn't show up in the system. So the cashier called the front end manager ryan, so I waited. When he came he said he can't fix this transaction. So I asked if I could have someone else come in to do the 2nd transaction. He refused to sell the soda for me, and told me to leave the store, without me saying anything back to him, and he said if I don't leave the store then he will call the police. read more
