I've purchased granola, flax seeds, chia seeds recently and disgustingly found out there is a larvae infestation in many of their grain-like items. I've visited many bulk barns in the past and have never had an issue. I buy the items, I put them immediately into clean airtight containers - there is zero chance of contamination from the time they're brought home to storage. The horrifying story happens when I free poured my granola the other night from the jar - then later that night went to refill my granola just to see larvae infested into the actual granola itself.... they blend in so I didn't notice the first few times I've eaten it. When I googled how they got into airtight containers, it was mentioned that it's all due to eggs already IN the items..... all of my bulk barn items are affected and none of the items I purchased elsewhere are. They were all bought at the same location so this is really horrific to me. I understand there are bugs and weird stuff in almost everything we eat but this is not a concern I should have to worry about constantly now. For reference, I took a picture of my flax seeds for my dog.... what the actual f is going on. I am actually so horrified. Bulk barn - please do what's right and replace your entire stock because this is actually disgusting.

Most of the boxes had lots of stock, only a couple, like the dried pineapples, were empty. They have a lot of seasonal Christmas stuff right now including pre-built gingerbread houses and other gingerbread people. There are also lots of red, green, and white candies, chocolate, and popcorn to stay in the festive spirit.

I remembered that this Dollarama store was in the same plaza. I'd try my luck for canned tuna here. I frankly don't know why it took me so long to visit this store. I am in this plaza for Kettleman's Bagels and Farm Boy. I can add this store to the mix. This Dollarama is probably the largest one that I've ever been to. It was spacious and inviting. Halloween and Fall decor merchandise hit me when I first walked through the doors. I was on a mission to get canned tuna, so I walked the food, beverage, and candy aisles. They were easy to find and nicely organized. I found my cans of tuna. $1.25 for a can was definitely better than what I saw at Farm Boy. I saw Pasta Roni next to the canned tuna section. It intrigued me. Too bad I didn't see Rice a Roni. I would have freaked out even more by belting out the jingle. The beverages at this store were great. I saw everything from Gatorade to kombucha. This store has Bai and a huge assortment of pop, too. I need to return and try Ocean Spray's diet cranberry. It was my first time spotting it. I had a competent, friendly man at the checkout. He was relaxed and nice. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I had a reusable bag with me. I stuffed it with my purchases, thanked the man, and headed to my car. I finally got to visit it on Labour Day. If you love Japanese products, particularly themed items, such as Pink Panther, Moomin, and Line characters, this store is screaming out your name. Prices are pretty reasonable for what you are getting. I got introduced to Brown, the bear in the Line group of characters, when there was a limited Lamy fountain pen of Brown a few years back. I then when to Shanghai and there was a Line store. I was pleased to see that you can get facial and eye masks branded with these cute characters. I like Pink Panther. I didn't realize how popular he still is until I walked into this store, and saw purses, phone cases, stuffed toys, and a ton more. Wow! The plush, stuffed toys in this store are pretty extensive. Keep on walking towards the back of the store and see the large selection. They are adorable! As a person who enjoys looking at electronic accessories, the variety is impressive. I loved looking at these heavy duty Moomin power banks for your cell phones, tablets, and more. They are heavier in weight than any of the power banks that I own, but they are cute, functional, and mightier in charge. I did not buy anything.
