Giant Food Stores is a popular grocery store chain in the Lehigh Valley. I don't think they have great prices, but they do have a good selection and quality products. This location can be found inside the MacArthur Commons shopping center off of MacArthur Road. Curbside pickup and delivery are both available. Nothing but good things to say about Giant! They were a great team right down to the people stocking the shelves. There's a lot of good things there to eat that are premade, especially the little bow tie honey salad. Definitely a favorite. And the set up is really nice and convenient. read more

I just returned from a shopping from this location and on numerous occasions while in self check out I was constantly being flagged. It becomes increasingly frustrating to be constantly profiled at this store. Its not AI or even the scale at the scanner which is in place for discrepancy. Its the workers that sit there and make the scanner go off on purpose. This needs to stop. read more

Great store and very friendly and helpful employees. They always seem happy and share a smile. Food selection is great, I especially love the selection of organic foods they have. The bakery is also fantastic, I highly recommend! My only complaint would be the self checkout registers (which are new), seemingly yell at you to put the item in the bag a millisecond after scanning as if that's humanly possible. Also it tends to loudly announce each item you're purchasing for all to hear. Oh, and the NRG folks there.. my advice would be to not make eye contact and just say NO THANKS when they inevitably try harassing you anyways. Just. Keep. Walking. read more

I recently went to giant on a shopping trip, and while I was there, my mom decided to buy wine and a case of beer. She had me carry it up to the checkout. Brandon, the checkout clerk told my mother that he needed both of our IDS, or he would not let us purchase it. Being that I am only 18, he would not allow my mother to purchase the beer or wine. This is absolutely outrageous, why would you even offer alcohol at a grocery store if this is something you're worried about? My mother argued with Brandon and he was persistent. Gaint needs to get your meat department in order. Every time, I went to ask the butcher to cut ribs, all I got is BS excuse : "Sorry , the macine is down." " I am busy" "I cannot do it" Give me a break. I used to be able to get ribs cut until they hire this guy that think it is not his job. So I left without buying. I went to Redners superment and their meat department is more than happy to cut it for me. Their service is excellent compare to this Gaint store. That is part of the reason I dont shop here anymore. I'm new to the area... this Giant is my go to place for grocery shopping. Every time I've been in the store every single employee is so helpful and kind. I've never experienced such a positive experience at a grocery store before. Super thrilled to have this as my grocery store! read more

I've been coming to this Giant for years and for the most part, it's fine. But I can always count on one specific problem and today it happened AGAIN. Is the Bakery staff trained to ignore people? Because every time I need to get their attention for something they make sure to turn around and pretend I'm not there. I especially love when they make eye contact and then quickly look away. Doesn't matter what day of the week it is, or what time. Today is not the first time I've stood there for several minutes while 2 people act like I'm invisible, but it is the last time I'll bother trying. I shop at this Giant all the time. They are always well stocked and it looks clean whenever I am there. They also have a wide selection of gluten and dairy free items which help me when cooking for my husband who has allergies. It is much nicer than the Walmart is shares a parking lot with. read more

Where do I begin? There is a kiosk at the Deli for you to use to place your order and stop back and pick it up. This thing is a godsend when you have kids with you and can't afford to lay idle at the Deli counter while your kids continue to naturally get rammy... however, it hasn't worked in at least a year. I've called numerous times to request a fix ... and I hear "You're the first one that's called - I didn't know there was a problem" multiple times, and other times "I'll have someone call you about this matter" but no calls and no fix. I've already shopped at this Giant for everything but Deli and then made a separate trip to the Coplay Giant for Deli items because of the kiosk situation in Whitehall. There doesn't seem to be any urgency to fix it. There is also a man at the Deli counter who is mean looking, sounding and frankly just unenthused about being there ... and I can't get deli items from him without an attitude of disrespect from him. The staff is generally sort of un-friendly. I pass numerous employees throughout each aisle and barely get a hello... just not what I would expect from a grocery store when so many others like "Weis" for example are always very cordial and welcoming. I am usually struggling through each aisle also with a stroller plus a cart or perhaps two carts .. pushing and pulling myself and never once has an employee offered to help me get around a turn or anything. In fact, I've had shelf stockers nearly run me over with their stocking carts as I quickly fly to one side of the aisle to get out of their way. The self checkout at this Giant is always blessed with the most miserable employees for some reason - esp. the one with the long blond hair. She gives you that look like she hates you immensely and has a lack luster amount of enthusiasm to help you get through the checkout swiftly. And lastly - when I have said 2 carts or a cart plus a stroller and I'm at the register or heading out of the building - there is no acknowledgement from staff to inquire whether I need assistance getting the cart or carts to my car. In fact - I've twice now been followed by GIANT WORKERS THEMSELVES out the store with cartloads .. struggling to get my cart to turn with all the groceries and children I have with me.. and the workers just stand and watch me struggle. The cart boys NEVER offer assistance at this Giant and nor did the employees that followed me out the door - looking annoyed that I was taking so long. I've had similar shopping trips to Weis and EACH AND EVERY time I've been offered assistance to get the carts to my car... and even had an employee help me LOAD my car at Weis and often they return the carts to the cart corall for me as well! To me it feels like the service part of this Giant is truly lacking ... no friendly service, no attention to items that need servicing and no offering of service to anyone who needs it. Regardless of how well stocked they are and how many grocery offerings they have - these are things I could find elsewhere without much effort.. it's the service that would keep me coming back .. and in this case .. I'm running the opposite direction. I choose rather to give my business to a store that wants my business and are happy to see me there... Weis or Giant Coplay - here I come. read more

this giant is run very well, all employees are helpful and willing to lend a hand. I especially love the bakery the manager there is on the floor assisting and in the back working very hard. kuddos too him!! the cake decorations and those who decorate are Articulate and make sure my spelling of names is correct and its what I the customer wants! friendly and really caring staff back there we visit often for our free cookie! read more

This store is fairly well stocked. Fresh produce display was OK but no where near as nice as Wegmans. One or two sections of the floor looked a bit dirty but overall it was a pretty clean store - especially with its extensive hours.. My biggest problem with this Giant is that it is NOT friendly to the handicapped shopper: this store had no electric carts available when we visited (this had been the case for over a week - according to other employees and the manager didn't seem at all concerned about it when we mentioned it ). Nor were there any inside benches where a person with limited mobility could wait for a friend or family member to finish shopping. read more
