I just love coming back to Gibbet Hill Grill. I love the rustic atmosphere and the energetic vibes on a weekend night. The food is so fresh and tasty. Get the rib eye!! I have tried other cuts but the rib eye is outstanding !! The service is amazing!

Excellent food and good service the atmosphere is great, views of the local farms and fields. Very well cooked steaks is the way to go.

This restaurant has excellent ambiance, great service, and great food. We started off with the fresh bread & cornbread with their sweet butter. Next we had the charcuterie which I thought was definitely a little overpriced, but was solid. For our meals my wife got the chicken with mixed veggies. She thought it was somewhat bland. I got the lamb with couscous and thought that it was excellent. Perfectly med rare. I have a food allergy and they were very accommodating. Even going so far as to bring my food out with an allergy alert. Awesome touch. For drinks I got their signature punch and an old fashioned, both were very well done. All in all, this is a great spot. I thought the bread to start was very well done. The prices are a little heavier than I believe they should be.

Ah, Gibbet Hill. I have a bit of an affinity to this place since I got married at the Barn next door. Ever since then I've been coming the Grill at least one or twice a year and there are always pluses and misses with every visit. Pros: Food is generally quite good. The haddock and rigatoni entrees, mussels app, blueberry/strawbery rhubarb crisp, and carrot cake are my favorites. I love their cornbread as well. Service is ok for the most part (depends on the server and time of day). Cons: Steaks are not great. Once upon a time they made great steaks but something happened in the past 3 years. Medium rares come out charred on the outside (making the whole thing taste bitter) while staying reddish pink on the inside. For the price, this is not acceptable. Clam chowder was also not great last time I tried it- was a bit watery or something- but the server did say they had changed the recipe. Hopefully they will work on their steaks. Otherwise, this is still a good place to go for a nice dinner.

3.5 stars rounded up. Erica K. was my waitress and knowledgeable with the menu. Ambiance was "American Gothic" with New England antique farm instruments and many of which decorate my properties. I had the clam chowdah and the fried chicken sammich. The chowdah was ok. Chowdah had bacon, which is not an ingredient I tolerate very well in New England clam chowda. The chicken sammich was average. The fried battering fell off and the chicken was not as moist as I would prefer. Saving the sammich was the apple slaw which had great flavor and saved the meal.

The restaurant is gorgeous, service was phenomenal, food looked amazing yet somehow tasted even better than it looks. Ate while watching the cows graze in the field behind the restaurant which was beautiful. 12/10 recommend, will be back for sure!

Gibbet is absolutely beautiful. Service was friendly. We had a great evening, enjoying every course. Our drinks were great, charcuterie board was small but was it mighty, it was so good. Our meals were all great, special shout out to the shishito peppers! We were all impressed with those. Dessert was delicious -- mango sorbet standing out as #1 and the cheesecake and cobbler don't fall very far behind!

The food here is sooo yummy! Everything we had was delicious. We ordered a bunch of appetizers for such a good price for the volume of food you get. The prices were not as high. The interior is so cozy reminds me Of a beautiful restaurant in a cabin resort area. The staff and service was great as well. The parking area is big and reservations are easy to Make online. I am Coming back for sure

The ambiance and service were attentive and impeccable. A great place for getting together, except that it could get loud in there. The food was, on the other hand, very disappointing. There were a lot of steaks, and the restaurant is known got beef. Outside of the steaks, The menu was innovative and unusual. But somehow the dishes were wrong. The flavors didn't go together or at least didn't complement each other. The result was good with a strange taste profile. None of the six of us at dinner could figure it out except that perhaps the recipes were wrong. The best dish was the Yellowfin Tuna appetizer with an avocado-wasabi puree. We all loved it. And the tandoori carrots were nice, but not great. The Gnocci dish looked like a salad when delivered. The arugula was pulled high. It gave a bitter taste right next to the mint. The potato crusted haddock was not particularly good, except that it was covered in an excellent sweet corn and bacon chowder. We probably would have loved a bowl of the chowder, but it didn't mesh well with the fish. All in all, I think the restaurant is over rated and the food is not great. But the service was top notch and we felt well taken care of.

Went to Gibbet last night for a special date night with my husband. I was so excited for something a little more "upscale", but unfortunately was pretty disappointed. I feel like it's gone down hill a bit. We sat at the bar and service was just ok. Dinner was nothing to write home about- haddock and steak tips. I was most disappointed with the chocolate chip cookies. Mine are better at home :/ I give places I go a fair shake, but not feeling so inclined to rush back anytime soon.

5 for food and service we were waiting for a table at the bar and the hostess came over and sat us at that booth table Atmosphere 4 it was nice and decorated and candles lights. There's two floors upstairs is more rustic downstairs is as well but also cozy The steak and fries were amazing. The Mac and cheese side was a bit small but still good. I was full and had steak and eggs this morning

Their huge 275-seat event space was packed at tables for 4 to 8, for the two 1-hour sets of Live Dead & Brothers Band, an Allman Brothers - Grateful Dead group of legacy musicians from those bands and families!!! An authentic rockin' performance! They opened hot, with Feelin' Alright and Truckin', and ended hot with Midnight Rider, Ramblin' Man, and Jessica, with around 14 more between. The acoustics were excellent at our table, and we also took up our share of the crowded dance area :-) Their tour continues at least through Dec 2026. Our tickets were about $50 each. Service was fast and friendly, and they let us pull up one more chair for our group of nine. You can get crafted beers and cocktails. We settled in with ice cold regional beers, which honestly are just as distinctive as fancy craft beers. We got some food to share off their "concert menu", too. An entrée-size dish of rich creamy homemade Mac & Cheese, made with tasty aged Grafton Cheddar, soft slightly-al-dente curly Cavatappi pasta tubes, not-overcooked green beans, as i recall, crisply crusted with lightly-maple breadcrumbs. Very flavorful and satisfying. A sweet fresh bright Autumn Salad of greens, pecans, and bright beets, in tart vinaigrette. And juicy "Bull Run Classic" burgers with crisp lettuce, tasty firm tomato, mildly-sharp red onion, and, for one of them, an add-on of rich cheddar, all on a cloud-like brioche bun. They do ask for $20 per person food/beverage minimum for all shows, essentially an entree or a couple beverages each. That's about what we had planned to order anyway :-) This place knocked us out with their dedication to farm-to-table ingredients, sourced from more than 25 regional farms named on the dinner menu. We've never seem such an extensive list of the actual sources. Very cool! The Bull Run has been a tavern since 1741, named after the Battle of Bull Run in 1861, (or in another version, named for a brawl in the tavern at the same time :-), and has been run by the Guercios extended-family since 1946. It was a stop on the stagecoach route and a gathering place for the Revolutionary war. We loved the original wood, structure, and décor. The fireplaces were lovely. It's a huge venue. Bull Run has live music every week, and they're open Wed-Sun, but watch their schedule because dates vary, sometimes one day that week, sometimes all four! This show was in their 275-seat room. There's at least one larger room for around 400. Theres a little parking along Rt 2A, and much more out back across the covered bridge. Dont be put off by the rustic exterior. We loved this legendary performance at a legendary restaurant!
