Read before you go there: It all started with a "clerical" mistake where mileage for a vehicle was recorded as 41000 not 4100. The owner reassured that during the transfer of title (two weeks after original error was made with a previous transfer) it will be fixed "No problem" and it's OK to fix the mistake with transfer of title especially since it was made not long ago hence went so far to this tag place to transfer the title. - Two weeks later-no title, phone call, paperwork was sent then. (delay of service) - After a month of waiting-title comes with now 2 mistakes-mileage and middle name misspelled. - Sent a letter asking for assistance, along with a proof of current correct mileage-inspection record. - Get a phone call from staff of Pennsburg Fastag (no name given-impersonal service) denying the mistake and saying it's not her fault. Firmly informing me that she can send the papers again-and she does. - Three weeks later-title comes with mistakes and a handwritten note from Pennsburg stating it was rejected and more inspections records should be sent. - Office visit- with previous owner of vehicle. Woman who I later find out is the owner, raised her voice, blamed Harrisburg for making mistakes like this. She was trying to pass on dealing with Harrisburg to me as the owner-I refused stating it's her responsibility to fix the mistake that was made in her office. She sends paperwork again, including another inspection record that I was hard to get. - Title comes back with name fixed, still mileage wrong. Another visit. Owner: What could have been done was done. I can send in the paperwork again. Another reference to me going to Harrisburg was made by the owner. I declined. I explained it shouldn't be my responsibility as the customer getting a service I paid for to fix the mistake that I didn't make. Owner:. Again, claimed that it doesn't matter who made the mistake and in general blamed Harrisburg and said they make mistakes all the time. She started to get rude and irritated. I asked about who is the supervisor or someone else to talk to. She yelled "I am the OWNER!". Again, reinforced the fact that as a notarized facility they were paid to provide a service which they failed to do correctly. Owner of Fastag became more and more irritated, kept yelling and talking over even though I kept calm. She kept saying that she can send records again. Finally said I will not leave with the records she sent. Reply : The owner of Fastag basically yelled that she doesn't have time, she doesn't like to be accused and demanded and that a phone call ahead of time would be necessary so she could have them ready. I said I will wait. Waited a couple minutes, after which she reported that she can't find them now. My "problem file" was missing. Asked for documents to be mailed to me after she finds them. She filled out affidavit of correction that she seemed to be unfamiliar with (in pen). No files saved on computer). Got copies of everything she mailed and waited for the letter that she said she wrote admitting to the clerical error. - Two weeks later-no paperwork. Called her-she said I have everything, reminded her of the notarized letter she said she sent. She said she thought she sent it. After the phone call got copies of same documents she gave me when I was there. No letter stating her mistake. How was I supposed to go to Harrisburg? She sent what I supplied. Nothing notarized where she stated her mistake. I called her and told her she mailed me same stuff she made copies of when I was there. She didn't know what to say. - Three weeks later, no title. Called Harrisburg, changes were made but no title generated, advised to mail in payment with MV38. Called Pennsburg, rudely interrupted before even telling her what I was told. Finally was able to tell her that payment is needed. Respnse: "I would have to research that. I have customers right now and am busy. If you want to send that in with the payment go ahead". My response: "I didn't make the error, I'm not going to pay for it" Response: "I already sent in a payment, I did my best, I will not sent anything until there is a response from Harrisburg. I have customers. I don't want to cut you off but have a nice evening". Hung up before I could say anything - I sent in payment. Didn't want to deal with her, went to my local tag place. Got my title after 6months.

Both the recipient of the title search (the City) and the client (myself) observed a complete discrepancy between the requested format and the results they submitted. One would typically receive an annoyed look, but Kevin was so cool and was like what do you got. Ease overcame me immediately. Turned out, I had all the right info needed from my car company to get the title so I could move forward registering in PA from NJ. Kevin took all my data, even taking the time to fill out my form that I could of so easily done, made the copies he needed, and said we'll call you once we receive what we need. Quote time was 1-2 weeks typically depending on your cars company. Received a call less than a week later saying all was ready. Came in, signed my papers, settled up, new PA plate in hand and next step inspection instructions. Cost for my needs was $209 which I felt was reasonable even though I had no clue what the going price range is for these types of services.
