For starters the prices are high, $119 plus tax for a used Woolino sleep sack, you can get one new from the company or amazon for a few more dollars. Another thing is that they no longer sort clothing by gender. This is incredibly annoying when shopping for boys clothing as there is prob 75% girls to boys clothing in consignments stores. I'm guessing this is due to people over buying for girls and girls not making their clothes as messy, this was the case with my children. This comment isn't designed to attack people who want to dress their children GN, it's more an annoyance that it takes significantly longer to sort though the clothes which is tough when you have 2 kids in tow. Perhaps brand back the gendered cloning and have a third GN section.

The store is so aesthetic and thoughtfully curated, it's like the kind of bookshop that makes you want to read every book on the shelves. The LGBTQ+ selection was excellent and very visible, not tucked in a corner, which immediately made the space feel welcoming and intentional. The vibe overall is just really pleasant and warm, you can tell it's a place that actually loves books and the people who love books. They've also got some awesome looking vintage clothes (I'm talkin' 60s florals and prints, people) if you really wanna make your kid look dated, er.. I mean cool. Along with tons of really fun kids clothes- 'Babylegs' and Matthew Porter's 'Red Panda' line of baby tees and onesies, they also sell children's shoes and women's Yoga apparel. My wife had trimmed it herself before, but after growing his hair out quite a bit it because too long and too much for her to try and "tame." After an extensive search, we landed here. Boy were we glad! Rachel was our stylist and she did a marvelous job, all around. We were nervous at how our son would do this first time. He can be shy, he can get spooked at something new like this, and we were ready. No need to worry. Rachel made sure he was comfortable and knew what was happening the whole time. They had a cute little red car chair that he could sit on (although he opted for sitting on my lap the whole time - which was fine, Rachel didn't mind). She was fast, accurate, and knew what she was doing. Have 20+ years of children's hair experience, she knew how to keep our guy entertained ... feeling safe ... and timed perfectly for not taking too long as to bringing on a bored toddler. The cut itself was great too. Stylish and modern, she did a great job at trimming/cutting his hair and layering it so as to bring out the natural waves and curls. Our son liked her, like the experience, and by the end was ready to sit in and try out the red car chair! Ha! Looking for a children salon? Look no further then The Original Childrens Shop. One of the cool things about this business is that they have both used and new items, so it's a really good spot to browse for gifts, find something unexpected, or just check out toys. I really like that some of the toy displays had models available, so you could manipulate and try the item before buying. Decent selection of used clothing, although as usual the girl items are far more interesting than the boys' basics. Owner is very friendly, experienced, and professional! She showed us the full rundown of all the stroller features and let us know we could put baby in and give it a whirl up and down the road if we wanted. I see some salty reviews about people not getting as much money as they would have liked for their used items, and I'm a little confused about it haha. The owner is very polite and professional in looking over used items, and it's pretty much a thing at any consignment store that they take items for cheaper than you might be able to sell on OfferUp or similar services, but it's about the convenience and ease of bringing stuff into the shop instead of dealing with flaky meetups. You can decide to sell your items elsewhere if you feel like it, nobody is twisting your arm into accepting an offer hahahah. Definitely consider going here for baby stuff instead of big retailers like Target or ordering on Amazon! I will recommend this store to friends and family and definitely be returning next time we are on the hunt for baby items :)
