However, the way technician Wes worded his inspection notes -- stating that the tenant "killed bugs" and that "professional service was recommended" -- has led my complex to schedule and charge me for two unnecessary treatments. After the inspection, Wes informed me that he could no longer discuss the matter with me because my complex has a service agreement with Gibson. This feels very unfair and misleading, as I never had an active issue. As a 71 year old senior, I have been a loyal Gibson Pest Control residential customer for over 40 years. They have had the termite contract on my home for that long. I have faithfully paid for annual inspections, and this year was the 10th year since our last termite treatment. They sent a renewal contract, which I signed and paid for to the tune of $1,240.00. They finally showed up to do the re-application of Termidor to the home, garage and barns. They had originally quoted $1,040, but had forgotten the layout of my farm and the buidlings involved--so they jacked up the price $200 to cover their amnesia. The guy shows up to do the application, I showed him everything, and then as a registered (46 years) licensed lawn and ornamental pesticide applicator myself--I asked a question: "How are you going to treat the foundation area under the covered front porch?" The porch has 35 lineal feet of foundation-- and is 12 feet wide. We had a termite infestation last year on the front steps of the front porch. His answer was "We don't do that, we just treat the outside perimeter of the home". I told him that this left 35 lineal feet of the foundation untreated, and approximately 400 square feet of untreated soil adjacent to it. He refused after speaking to Gregg Gibson, his boss. He insisted it was not necessary according to the label. Well--I asked for the label, and after much discussion with the owner that went nowhere--said "Well it's obvious we're not getting anywhere, so you do what you do, and know that if we have termite damage it's on you and your guarantee, not on me". And irritated with his insolence and refusal to treat my whole foundation, I hung up. The owner told his employee to leave, and not treat my home in a very unprofessional display of arrogance and ego. He said he would refund my contractual payment of $1,240.00. We'll see about that. My position is that we have an ongoing contract which is signed, paid for, and now instead of doing the right thing and honoring their contract with me--he's told me he no longer will be doing my work. It's fine, but what if I now have termite damage--will he honor their guarantee? Why did he cancel my contract after I made a perfectly reasonable and fact based request? I would never recommend this company. They are arrogant, disloyal, and unreasonable. They are not to be trusted. read more

I have used Gibson for many years for Rental Properties. I liked them because they would give you a quote on the phone and then schedule a service appointment to take care of the issue. There was no contract for regular maintenance and no up sale. The last time I called, they scheduled an appointment, I thought for service. They sent a salesperson with a little flashlight to look around, then give a quote and schedule for a later date. I was very disappointed and not impressed. This is how all calls are treated now. I used to send them referrals and they did the same thing to the last referal I sent them. I will not be referring them anymore. If you need prompt service do not call Gibson. read more

As unprofessional as a company can be. I contacted them for rodent removal and they identified entry points around the home and did nothing to solve that problem. Instead they placed "tamper proof" black boxes to trap the vermin as they freely moved in and out my home. For this, they charged me $400 and provided no follow up. Stay away. read more
