Prices were good and bad. As always prices are controlled by each individual booth owner so some are reasonable and some I would consider unreasonable. The staff in the store were all real friendly and they held our items at the counter as we shopped to keep our hands free for more items, yes that is a problem Just kidding, nice of them to do. I failed to get through the entire store so I will have to make a return trip, my friends are faster than me as I like to look at absolutely every piece to make sure I do not miss than gem I was searching for. I keep a running list of things I want to find as well as a list for some of my friends. I found plenty to bring home on this day and we had a fun time reminiscing and searching through each booth. It is a good place to spend several hours. I will definitely return.

The shop has a mixture of household items, women's clothing, and decorative items including some with inspirational sayings. I'll let some other reviewers talk about the women's clothes (other than this looks like a place for women, not girls.) What I noticed were items like battery powered candles, wind chimes, angel figurines, and some items that also had humorous sayings, particularly for cat lovers. The payment counter is centrally located in the shop and easy to see from the mall entrance. There were two women working during my visit and both were helping customers while I browsed. They draw you attention with a cute chalkboard and some other fun decorations. The inside is awesome! They have so many cute and different items. Lots of Indiana themed things which I love, they have cute notebooks, handkerchiefs, garlands, and lipsense! The prints and postcards are darling, so many different scenes to pick from. I got the impression that a lot of this was all hand made, and to find that in a store is very rare, but enjoyable to be able to go through and enjoy checking out all the different treasures on the shelves. The booths were all clean and well organized. This was my first time in the shop and there were a lot of nice items and they were reasonably priced. It is a small shop but with it being well organized it makes it easy to navigate, we had a 5 year old with us and he was able to walk through without us worrying he would knock something over. I will stop in here again to check out the booths to see the changes after Christmas.

Instantly the scent of one of their candles hits your senses and you're drawn in. They sell these awesome robot pieces made of metal and tin and are painted and out together by locals. They also sell flour towels with amazing quips on them (see pics below - they're only $7!!), and Mud Pie products that you canNOT love without. You gotta go visit. BRING YOUR MONEY! I found some really cute items and I was particularly drawn to the Gather Home: Home Goods & Gifts section. I ended up buying more than a few items but was really happy with my purchase. The lady at the counter was very sweet and friendly. She had a good aura about her. Overall, they have some really cute items for gift-giving. I especially loved the gift bags I purchased for future gifts to put inside them. So cute!

Apparently, the origin story of The Gilded Nest is that it started as a Christian bookstore. After…read morea while, the owner thought that if she changed it to a Christian bookstore AND a home decor and handcrafted goods store, the store would attract more customers. That seems like some 4D chess right there, and good business sense. I can imagine more people would want to visit a home goods store than they would a Christian bookstore, but I could be wrong. That said, there's still a Christian bookstore in the back of the store, with all sorts of nonfiction and fiction texts. (Even Christian romance books! Sizzling.) The rest of the store is home decor, candles, signs, dish towels, art supplies, greeting cards, artificial flowers, vintage pieces, and handmade jewelry and art from local artists. It's a mishmash of all kinds of things, and everything is arranged just so, and the whole store is pleasing to walk through. It also smells nice because of all the candles. The Gilded Nest also offers art classes and creative workshops, like flower arranging. They have a little art studio in a corner. This is a store that my mom would have loved. She liked to decorate her house with hand-painted signs with Bible verses on them, chalk-painted shabby chic furniture and cute little trinkets. As soon as I walked into the store, I was like, "Oh man! I wish my mom could be here! She would appreciate this." Most of the store is not my style at all, but I liked walking around and looking at all of the things and thinking about what my mom might have bought. There are lots of things here, and it's a great place to browse and maybe pick up a gift or two.

However I really took my time looking around at all the absolutely beautiful selection of merchandise. I think it is the best possible place to get an Indiana Artisan Made item hands down. They have an unbelievable selection and a good price point range as well. Since I had been last they have an Artisan Mohair Bear Maker and his work is incredible! I am quite enamored with a few of them! They are many, many items to choose from. Parking can be a little tricky with Carmel's constant construction but please consider going; it's certainly worth walking a bit to get to!
