I am on a fixed budget and needed an upgrade. The thing that I appreciated about Neil is that he is willing to work with you based on your budget and needs. You just have to communicate, open up a working dialogue, and hear out all the options. Neil found me a refurbished Lenovo ThinkPad with all the right features and software. He could have also sourced me a new gaming laptop with the best speeds and processing power but of course- out of my budget. If you get to know Neil, you realize he does care about his clients and wants to make things right. The screen had lines and would black out, making the laptop unusable. When I took it to the Apple Store, I was quoted $1,100 just to send it in for diagnosis, or $1,400 for a new laptop. I contacted two other repair shops, but they didn't handle Macs or water damage. Thankfully, I found San Francisco Bay Computer Services. They quoted me $467 for the repair, which included a screen with the Apple logo. I paid a 50% deposit, and they ordered the part, which arrived in just one day. I dropped off the laptop in the morning and picked it up the same day--fully repaired and working perfectly! They also provided a 30-day warranty on labor and assured me the parts have a manufacturer warranty. To top it off, I received a 20% discount on labor for my next visit (not that I hope to need it anytime soon!). Ed was responsive on the phone and texted me when laptop was ready for pickup. Ryan was super friendly and chatted it up with us the whole time. Unfortunately, the PS3's motherboard was fried and it would cost us way too much to replace it (and wouldn't make sense to buy an entirely new PS3), so Jack from Mobile Tech Solutions graciously offered the option of trading in my boyfriend's broken PS3 for a refurbished PS3. I do not understand their failure to notify me when they could not deliver what they committed to. Twice. After talking with a few people and pretty much being told that I should just buy a new laptop, I decided to e-mail Fix-PC to see if there was any hope in repairing my computer. Gancheng e-mailed me back the same day and told me that he would gladly come to my house to see if he could repair my computer. He also said if he could not fix it, I would not need to pay... Amazing. He came over the next day and spent 3+ hours repairing my computer. He was very nice and went out of his way to explain what he was doing and he took his time making sure that he was really fixing the problem. Simply put, Gancheng is awesome with computers and he won't charge you a ridiculous amount of money. In many cases, he charges a flat rate of $50 for labor, unless a part is needed. Thanks Gancheng!
