Cottin's Hardware recommended Santa Fe Glass (located in North Lawrence, 1410 N 3rd St) to me &…read moreBOY, WERE THEY WONDERFUL!!! Jason in the office was careful not to take my half-knowledgeable advice, instead recommending that his colleague, Jeff, come out & look at the storm door glass and screen problem I was having. Jeff came & did SUPERB work, fixing both glass storm windows AND the screen so everything fit snug! On top of that, he completely replaced my failing porch screen door turnbuckle assembly--had to go back to their office to bring back the new parts and expertly installed it! Very personable and competent! I will ALWAYS go back to them for any storm window or screen work that my ancient old house (built in 1869!) needs, & I think there will be lots. On top of it all, they refused to charge me a penny! Wow, just wow....I recommend you all CHECK THEM OUT!

I called with an explanation of what happened and was immediately put on their service call schedule. Having to order and wait for the replacement parts to arrive, their servicemen arrived as scheduled, replacing the hardware, and securing the door. Unfortunately, one of the sliders did not close all the way. I called and was and scheduled for a few days later. Again, the servicemen arrived as scheduled and made the necessary adjustments. By their own admission, they had never experienced that hardware failing, but stuff happens. Bottom line, we've been very pleased with their product and service and enthusiastically recommend them.

Mic was extremely helpful and knowledgeable regarding Bordners products, processes and warranties…read more Mic made the entire process of getting a new roof easy. He is kind and very easy to work with. He answered all of my questions and shared samples of the products. I have done business with Bordners for over 30 years. They are an excellent company and all of their people are trained and professional. They provide excellent service and products. I value the company and enjoyed working with Mic on my roof replacement.

We originally hired Bordner Home Improvement to fix a leak coming into our main floor ceiling…read morespecifically because of their stellar online reviews and thinking they were a quality local company (they were actually sold to a private equity company in 2024 and are no longer locally owned). Tyler came out and looked over our issue, he told us that after replacing the head flashing above the window behind the stucco there "would be no more leak, 100% or we'll come back out and fix it" and not to worry since it's backed by a 1-year guarantee just in case the leak didn't show up until further into the rainy season. Given their online reviews we completely trusted his word and were expecting the same great experience so many others have had. Unfortunately, our experience was not what we were told or expecting. Poor Workmanship & Unauthorized Charges: They ripped out the stucco and installed new flashing, but the workmanship was poor (see photos). When we immediately emailed them with photos and concerns, they dismissed us and ran an unauthorized charge on our card for the balance. It took persistent messaging before they admitted the work was subpar and agreed to fix it. The Leak Wasn't Fixed: Even after the cosmetic "fix" (which still left us to paint the new stucco ourselves), the window leaked the very next time it rained. Misdiagnosis & Upselling: After contacting them multiple times about the continued leaking, they agreed to send a couple guys out to do a "water test" with a garden hose. Less than 15 minutes after arriving, they had quickly determined the issue was actually at the bottom of the window--not the top area they had just charged us $2,395 to repair. Their new solution was to suggest we buy completely new windows. It seems incredibly shady that they didn't perform a simple hose test before ripping out stucco and charging $2,395 for a completely unnecessary repair. While they may have done great work for some others, I would look elsewhere unless you want to spend time and money only to end up worse off than before you hired them.
