They…read morehad been in a different daycare since infancy and we had been looking for a long time to find a new daycare/school that would meet our/their needs. After having a parent from our old daycare tell me about Nellie's and how much they and their little one love the place we had to check it out. We set up an appointment and went to tour it with the girls. Nellie went over the daily schedule with us, showed us around and went over some of the basics when she gave us the contract packet. She let us know at that time that she is pretty strict with her sick policy. That was okay with us as we know what it is like to have to miss work when other children come in sick and the bugs start going around. About two weeks in I got a call to come get my youngest. She just wasn't being herself, something was definitely wrong. I took her to the pediatrician and she ended up having an ear infection with her eyes just starting to show signs of conjunctivitis. Of course, I texted Nellie to let her know and asked if my oldest could still come in the next day as she did not have any symptoms. She asked that she didn't since they were siblings and the likelihood of the older one getting it as well are pretty high. I had no problem with this as it made total sense, I just don't know why I didn't think about it. :) I love that she communicated this and really tries to eliminate the illnesses or potential when there are siblings involved. She really is just trying to make sure that 5 other parents don't have to loose out on time at work over illnesses that could have been prevented from spreading by having those children stay home. Part two - I have noticed such a difference in my oldest child in the short amount of time she has been there. They have been working with her on recognizing the letters of the alphabet, and counting past 10. My youngest has learned some Spanish words to add to her vocabulary, is counting to 10, and is singing the ABCs (She just turned 2). They play outside almost everyday. The field trips have started and it is so nice how she does it in small groups so that the kids get a chance to have more one on one time and things are not super crazy. I have been on field trips with the other daycare and all of the kids going at once can be quite chaotic. They have a participation calendar for every month were the kids get to bring in something to share with their friends, or wear a certain color or pattern that coincides with what they are learning, or something silly and fun like crazy hair day. My oldest loves this as it gives her something to look forward to everyday. Overall my husband and I are very satisfied and happy we found Nellie's DayCare at last. Our girls love the place as well, we could not be more happy.

Also, please look at the dates for the positive reviews here and on google. The positive reviews are almost always in response to a negative one, meaning they have to request positive responses. This was a complete disappointment. Initially we were excited to have our 4-year-old start at Briar Rose. We did a tour with the owner Melanie and was presented with a service that sounded perfect. Our child had previously been in a bilingual daycare and was told that this was a bilingual school as well. My wife speaks fluent Spanish, and this is a requirement for my child. We had our questions like "How long has your staff been teaching?" and the answer was 7-8 years "Will my son continue his Spanish" and the answer "our teachers are bilingual". All of these questions were skillfully answered by Melanie. Two weeks later and my child's first day arrives. My wonderful wife does the drop off. She said it went well, but mentioned that the teacher seemed new. I come to pick up my son, at 4:30pm. Melanie said a quick hi, introduced me to the teacher (which I will not name, this review is not about her personally). The teacher was polite but too young to have 7-8 years of experience. I asked her how long she had been teaching and she replied "I have only had my own class for three weeks." We were never informed of a new instructor. We were told on our first visit the teacher had "personal issue" to take care of. After going over this with my wife we decided that this was not what we had been told, and simply wanted to cancel, get some sort of refund, and find another place. We wanted the refund due to being lied to. The teacher being brand new (not 7-8 years experienced) and not bilingual as Melanie had told me on a follow up phone call. Melanie was very disagreeable and offered several rebuttals always mentioning the contract. Unfortunately none of them addressed the bait and switch that took place. Melanie stated that they had passed on many students since my son had taken the spot, at the time we met, 10 days earlier, there was 7 openings in the Poppy Classroom, which at the time of this post an still be seen on their website. I was also told that "it is unfortunate that my son has a dad that makes quick assumptions." Which I took as an insult. As a parent, quick assumptions are necessary for the protection of any child. We can't sit in the classroom with them, we have to make assumptions. And still I was not making assumptions, just re-iterating the misinformation that I was given. Melanie continued to refer to the contract, and I continued to refer to back to the misinformation, regarding their school and what is advertised on the website. The site says Spanish speaking, with teacher Katie in the Poppy Classroom, Katie was not the teacher. The new teacher is not on the website all. Melanie is not on the website at all (correction, she is there but the photo isn't her). After further review many of the staff pictures are repeated with different names. I took screenshots of this information as it will most likely be remedied after this posting. It did not end well. Myself without a refund and them without a new student. This situation could have and can be easily resolved with a simple refund. Contract law is more important to them than customer service and honesty. Later Melanie attempted to trespass me from the property. I haven't even received a speeding ticket in 20 years. Ivette (the other owner) claimed I was "unacceptable, threatening and extremely demeaning" on a phone call that she wasn't on and I have recorded (100% legal in Oregon, and recommend everyone do due to situations like this). I never raised my voice and was extremely respectful. Ivette and Melanie immediately jumped to being victims the moment they had to confront adversity. I spoke directly to the officer involved and he also didn't understand their motives. As of this post they still have not returned all of my son's belongings.

From the first time stepping foot into mind and minds I knew this was the place my son needed all along. Kids with Autism cannot fake their feelings, so I knew that if my son was comfortable in such a new environment and with a new person that he truly felt safe. Adely catered to all my sons needs and always kept in contact with me. And as her clientele grew, she ended up opening a new center that was bigger and offered everything our kids could ask for. From trampolines to exercise equipment to an indoor and outdoor playground , Adely had it all. This was not your typical therapy place or strict school, instead it as literally everything put into one space. A school, a social place, a playground, and most important, it was a place my son felt safe. She took the time to work one on one with my son and targeted areas that we wanted to focus on. I saw a huge improvement in my son and will forever be thankful to Adely. She truly treated my son as if he were hers and no matter the day or time she always made herself available to us. Not only did we finally gain the best therapy my son could ask for, but we also gained a life long friend. What an amazing place and even better, what an amazing women and friend. This place is home to us. We will forever be thankful to Adely and what she has done for our family. God bless you and your above perfect mind and minds! I wish their were ten stars I could give this place!
