I've been a customer of Burton Pest Control for a long time. I just had them make their 5th visit to my house over about 15 years. These guys do business the way business was done decades and decades ago - they provide honest and incredibly knowledgeable and effective service and don't try to run up the charges. I've called about mice, rats, carpenter ants and sugar ants. When I called about mice, they told me they not only treat the existing infestation, but their goal is to inspect for areas of entry and close them all down so that I don't need to call about mice again unless there's some sort of disturbance to the structure subsequent to the visit. And the mice problem went away to this day! They did what they said they would do. When I had them visit to check on a possible rat problem, they gave me two DYI tests (which they still assisted with) for no charge and said to see if the tests show an existing problem. They asked me to text a picture of the peanut butter bait in two days and they could confirm or not if it's really a problem. If not, nothing further needed. I offered to pay for the visit but they refused and said if there's an actual problem they can come back then and there would be a customary charge then for that visit. This has been their operating mode ever since I've been doing business with them. When I called about sugar ants, they told me that I didn't need them. They gave me a simple solution I could do myself for low cost. They're like that awesome mechanic who says "yeah, it's broken, but you don't need me to fix it. You can just buy the part yourself and it takes 5 minutes to install." But there will be times I do need their help. That's why I will always call Burton Pest Control every time and I continue to decline door to door pest services. Ray Burton and his son Chase run this business and they remind me of business folks from many years ago. They are a family business that truly cares about their customers. Not flashy, not big on fancy ads or marketing, just darn good service and a words you almost never used to describe terrestrial or virtual businesses..."they are honest." A few weeks ago we were facing a growing armada of paper wasps outside our new home. All we needed to do was send the pix of the nests to the Burtons and they scheduled an appointment. Chase popped by and carefully explained what kind of wasp we were dealing with and how the correct pesticides to take care of our issue for awhile. We purchases the "Works" (my description) which included spraying down our home's exterior, knocking down spider webs and the wasp nests. About theae nests.....they were the size of a golfball...but on the side of our property where my wife and I did not look, rested a pancake sized nest! No wonder we saw these insects all over our back yard. Anyway, after Chase's 90 minutes of work, nests were gone AND the paper wasps were also gone (from our home anyway). Even better he did all of this excellent work for under $175! We will call on the Burtons (thank you Ray and Chase!) the next time we have an insect invasion that our traps can't handle. We had an ant problem and Burton Pest Control took the time to teach me about the ants, which bait to use, and how to use it. Normally pest control just comes, sprays, leaves, and schedule returns. Burton told me these ants would come back every few months throughout the year and taught me how to set effective traps. I would double the number of stars (i.e. 10 stars) if possible! Burton Pest Control is not only a great company, but the owner, Ray, is such a great person! He is extremely honest, approachable, kind, generous and considerate; on top of his excellent skill and experience in the work he carried out! Our home was infested with mice in the crawlspace which had caused damage to the heat ducts and insulation. Ray had come 3 times to install traps and caught them all; sealed the surrounding foundation; and checked everything possible to make sure there is no space for the animals to enter again! On one occasion when he was going to start the work, the entrance cover to the crawlspace was broken and the crawlspace is not accessible. Ray immediately came up with some trick to remove it and then rebuilt the whole cover for me afterwards. Now the crawlspace is easily accessible from inside the home! Last but not (never) the least: the cost of these highly valuable services is extremely fair! All I can say is that he charged me a little more than half of the charge from another 5-star company I called, and likely to have provided two times better service! Thanks, Ray. I contacted Burton Pest Control regarding a yellow jacket/hornet problem that I had at my house in the Cornelius Holt Homes development. Ray was really nice. He came out to my house, sprayed repellent and even knocked out a hornet nest that was in between the stack of patio chairs. He wasn't confident that the repellent would even work (If I understand correctly, the government restricts what kind of repellent pest control companies can use) so he didn't even charge me!
