Joe told us the credit union they use offered us an interest rate just over 7%. Can't remember exactly but it was less than 8%. It took some work to satisfy the finance company with some proofs of income and whatnot but all was settled and we went back for the car the following week. We thought Joe was a personable guy and liked him but that was to our detriment. We stupidly signed the financing paperwork trusting what he told us was correct. Later when setting up our payments to the finance company we realized the interest rate was not ~7% but 18%!! WTF?!?! If he had told us that or if we actually read the contract (which is our fault entirely) we would have never gone on with the purchase. We feel totally stupid for trusting this guy and are now paying the price. Literally. Read everything you sign. I know that should be obvious but we clearly didn't and it will cost us an extra $2500.

For me I would be placing complete trust in the dealer. As we all know, used car dealers usually have a poor reputation but Cupples Car Company is definitely the exception to that rule. Ross Cupples, the owner, is wonderful to deal with. Ross is honest, professional and knowledgeable. You can immediately tell that Ross is a man with integrity who cares about his customers and wants them to be happy. Ross is hands down the best car dealer I have ever dealt with (new or used). Ross is not a high pressure salesman and made the entire buying process enjoyable. Since I was not close by I communicated with Ross mostly through email and, even though I'm sure he was busy with other customers, he would took the time to email me back very promptly and address any questions or concerns I had. Ross was very helpful every step of the way which meant so much to me given my distance from the dealership. I placed my trust in Ross and was not disappointed. My husband and I were eyeing more expensive small SUV's, but for our needs ( we are only in the lakes region during the summer so we don't have to deal with NH winters), the Camry was a better fit AND a lot less expensive. Alan said that he'd be happy to sell us the more expensive 4WD SUV's but steered us to the Camry. BTW Alan told us he's been selling cars for 50's. He's awesome. In all the years of buying used cars, I think this car purchase was the quickest most hassle-free car-buying experience we've ever had. Before purchasing from John, he assured me the car would be serviced. Obviously it wasn't. It wasn't even clean when I picked it up, but I looked past that. John knows I'm from MA and my retired father who lives in Laconia helped me find a car for my son for Christmas. I thanked him replacing the sensor and asked to have it shipped back to me in MA. John went on a tirade and said "I will absolutely not do that. You bought the car, it's your problem now". How quickly John went from a used car dealer who stands behind his cars to an average used car salesman trying to maximize his profit and screw the customer. But 5 stars? Well, John and his team at Winnisquam sure won me over. Not only did I get a phenomenal deal on the exact car I was looking for, but John, the owner, struck me as a very down to earth, hard-working and honest guy. And in the end, he proved that's exactly who he is. Before my test drive, John was up front about an issue on the car that he was going to address. I appreciated the full disclosure. It ended up taking a bit longer and costing him more money than he'd anticipated. He kept me in the loop and the deal we struck remained the same despite the additional cost he incurred. Michelle, who handled our financing was professional and very helpful. She had everything prepared so when we got there, we were in and out in less than 25 minutes. I don't think I've ever been in and out of a car dealership in less than two hours when buying a car before this. The next time I'm in the market for a used car, Winnisquam will be the first place I look. It was really a pleasure dealing with them and well worth the hour drive from Southern New Hampshire.

We had been looking online for used cars and were experiencing rising anxieties as prices were steadily climbing in the past three weeks. We felt pretty overwhelmed trying very hard to trust the LORD that He had just the right car for us. And out of the Blue, Edmonds was showing a car in Gilmanton NH at Humble Auto that sounded too good to be true! I even wondered if it was a fake web site! But we called in to see if this car was still available, and they let us know that ALL vehicles on their lot are handled on a first come, first serve basis, and that as of that morning the car was still available, and I was welcome to come out to test drive the car! I did just that, and the car was exactly what we could afford at a greatly discounted price from Kelly Blue Book, Carfax, and Edmonds! I actually cried over the amazing deal we received on this car. Lesson learned again and again: I can trust Jesus Christ to provide what is needed if I am willing to wait on Him!! For us, the biggest Blessing is knowing that the owners are also Christ Followers and have great integrity regarding the cars they sell. It is wonderful that Mr Jose, the co-owner of Humble Auto, is a reputable mechanic who combs through each car they bring on the lot and makes sure the car is in good working order!
