I saw it as an investment, something that would last. But only a few months later, she started telling me she couldn't see well again. This was a huge issue because she loves to read it's one of her main joys and ways to stay engaged. I wasn't sure what to do next. I hesitated to take her to another doctor, wondering how her vision could change so quickly. But I started calling around, only to find that most eye exams were $200-$400, which was out of reach financially. Then I found Optical Express at Bascom Palmer (University of Miami Eye Institute) offering exams for just $100. I was honestly apprehensive about the quality of care at that price, and some of the Yelp reviews made me even more unsure but I went ahead and got us on the cancellation list. Luckily, they called with an earlier appointment. And I'm so glad I gave them a chance. The doctor who saw my mom was absolutely incredible. From the moment we walked in, he was warm, patient, and kind. He immediately noticed that my mom had a disability, and he took extra care to explain everything clearly to her never rushing, never frustrated, just deeply compassionate. He treated her like family. As her caretaker, I'm usually the one explaining things to her after appointments, but he took that burden off my shoulders. It meant a lot. Even more importantly, he discovered that the original prescription she'd received last year was incorrect. He spent 30-40 minutes carefully examining her vision and correcting the mistake. I saw a review saying a doctor only spent 5 minutes with them but that couldn't have been further from our experience. He was thorough and thoughtful. After the exam, we went over to the glasses side of the clinic, and I was bracing myself for another high bill. But Natasha who helped us was so kind and understanding. She listened to our situation and worked with us to find a price we could afford. She even helped me brainstorm ways to get my mom back to the clinic (since she doesn't drive), going above and beyond in every way. We're coming back next week to pick up the new lenses, but I already feel confident recommending this place to anyone especially if you're looking for a compassionate, competent doctor and staff who truly care.

Overall, I had an amazing experience at Fidler Eyecare. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the doctor was very thorough in his examination. He gave me a thorough explanation of my vision, and discussed different options with me to improve my sight. He also provided me with valuable education about my vision and the potential risks from prolonged use of contacts and glasses, which I really appreciated. The office was clean and modern, with the latest in eye care technology and the frames available to pick from were vast and beautiful. Last but not least, the prices were very reasonable and the customer service was great. I highly recommend Fidler Eyecare for anyone in need of eye care services. Took me back for initial exam and dilation then sent back to the waiting room for another 1.5 hours. I asked the receptionist and she offered to reschedule but was dilated and it had been 2 hours already! I asked again and she just disappeared! Last year my experience was horrible waiting for 2 hrs. Since I am a loyal patient of 10 year's I thought I'd give you another chance and made my appt. a year in advance for today. I arrived for my 8:30 am appt. at 8:20 and signed in, after driving for 45 min from Delray Beach. There were already 6 people waiting, all looking quite lost, with one receptionist, who also looked lost. I waited u til 8:45 and after hearing the receptionist speaking to another patient who arrived well after me, and telling him it would be 1-2 hrs, I've had enough! I stepped up and told her to cancel me, I'd find a Dr. and practice who actually care. As a side note, the practice used to offer a full service eyeglass technicianand hundreds of frames including contacts. Now there're handwritten signs all over the office stating "No glasses, No contacts, Sorry." One more thing, I received two text messages to confirm my appointment at 8:30, which I promptly answered. Then I received 3 additional phone calls over the previous week from a number and listing I didn't recognize (MEDULA & KUBAL) so didn't answer and they went to voicemail. Listening to voicemail it was the Dr's office confirming my appointment???? How unprofessional this has this practice becone.

Lets update my review, the techs do everything, I mean everything....from doing the eye test that you look into where you pick one or is two better. This meeting with the tech is one of your encounters with techs doing everything. So, in the first room they start the sales pitch to get you to do some extra test that cost extra money. If you say yes, they immediately bring the credit card scanner into room so you can pay NOW. Like paying at the end is so hard, like you are some dead beat that won't pay. Now you leave first room with the tech to a back area waiting room to wait for next tech. You get into the next room and more talks about up selling things go on before or right around when the Dr comes in. The doc does a few small things to look at your eyes and they talk about things that maybe wrong with your eyes or not(I got a second opinion which leads me to make that statement) Doc leaves the room and the tech finishes the sales pitch with brochures and the cost of said procedures. If you don't book that day they will call you to see when you would like to book it. I have had 2 upsell procedures where I believed I needed what they were telling me, and....like I explained earlier, I needed to pay right there in the exam room with the CC reader before I could receive the upsell procedure. So this year, the upsell procedure was $1800 and $3600!!!!! Cash or card!!!! This prompted me to get a second opinion.... I did not tell the Dr I went to anything at all about my visit to the other eye doc visit. The second opinion doc said that I had a very mild case of what the Hollywood eye institute lead me to believe that it was way BAD and would get even worse if not treated with this expensive procedure. The 2nd opinion doc recommended about $30-40 of over the counter things to fix it...vs $1800-3600!! SOOOOOOOO...... I take out the brochures that were given to me and asked if these procedures were necessary, much to my surprise the Dr stated that one of the procedure wasn't even relevant to my eyes because it treated for something I didn't even have. The other procedure was kinda relevant ish if you wanted to spend $1800 instead of the $30-40 that I did end of doing. I mean, let's do the least invasive procedure first...no? GOOD LUCK....I HOPE MY REVIEW MADE SENSE.

The eye glass rep told me that the Meta smart glasses would be soon offered by Oakley and not just Ray-Ban. They needed one more eye glass rep working since it was busy.
