This review reflects our experience at the Val Vista campus only and is specific to the current administration there: We enrolled believing a small, faith-based school would provide stronger leadership, accountability, and a more protected learning environment than public options. That was not our experience. Beneath the polished tours and Christian branding, leadership at this campus proved ineffective, dismissive, and unwilling to meaningfully address serious concerns raised by families. Many parents are drawn to a Christian school hoping to shield children from age-inappropriate influences; ironically, in our personal experience, our children were exposed to more inappropriate language and behavior here than they had been in a Chandler public school, with limited administrative response. Administration frequently emphasized high demand to attend, yet from our firsthand experience and conversations with other parents, just as many families appeared to be leaving. Academic quality and classroom professionalism raised serious questions about how teachers are hired, their qualifications, and why turnover seemed high. Tuition and a Christian label do not automatically guarantee a better education, stronger values, or responsible leadership. As a former student that used to attend this school for a very long time....Do not do it. I've been out of this school for a bit so I've had some time to really think about my experience. This school is very strict. It only makes the outspoken students more unruly, and the quiet ones more submissive. I heard some truly vile ideas being discussed in class from teachers and students. Mainly boys who would make violent sexual comments about girls and get away with it. At this school it was always minimizing the bad problems to not raise concern, and elevating the tiny problems to cover up what really needed to be addressed. Everything. I. Did. Was. An. Issue. I was terrified of these people and the way they intimidated me and my friends for just doing what kids do. The bad memories far outweigh the good. I wish I hadn't spent so much time here, I wish I could've spoken up for myself without being plagued by peer pressure. Lots of my former teachers had a superiority god complex and would try to overwhelm students into passivity. Going to hell should not be something elementary students should be afraid of. Young girls shouldn't be belittled and sexually shamed. These are supposed to be teachers, but their mindset reaks of, privileged, close minded white people with no accountability outside of themselves for who they're surround by. The education is one note, no room for any other opinion, no room for inclusivity. These are all growing children that will grow up to be very different people. The shameful, controlling, one way thinking is what damaged me the most..it breaks you down every day and children are the most impressionable. Under the smiles and scriptures plastered on the wall is all hate and aggression towards people who aren't like them.. loud worship music and a fancy campus doesn't eliminate the glaring problems with this school. These teachers are hypocrites. If you want your child to follow god, the worst thing you can do is shove it down their throats. I couldn't breathe at this school without feeling monitored, like I was walking on eggshells. It's neat, tidy, structured. It's absolute hell for kids who are just trying to have fun with their friends. I missed out on memories, the ability to be my own person without shame. I lost a lot of friends when I left because so many truly couldn't think for themselves without being told what to believe in. Thinking about all the years I spent here makes me sad and resentful. No i'm not a Christian as you can tell, but that shouldn't make my opinion any less more valid. Funny you guys turned off your google reviews btw, very funny indeed. You can run but you can't hide from the trail of angry atheist students you leave in your wake. I hope I can move on, I hope I can forgive my parents for sending me here and ignoring my complaints. Gilbert Christian School is by far hands down the very best school I have ever encountered. Almost daily I am impressed with this school. The faculty and staff truly care about each and every student and their families. The Principals learn every student's name along with their family members' names. There is a Principals mail box where the students write letters to their Principals. Then the Principals write a handwritten letter back to each and every note. They have pick-nick with the Principal where they have lunch and get to know the students and the students the Principals. You truly feel God's presence in this place. The assemblies/chapel brings tears to my eyes, I am not able to go without crying tears of joy. The beautiful sound of the children singing to God and uniting the school at the same time is truly amazing. There is no wonder why there are hundreds of people on the waitlist. This school is worth every penny and then some. I feel so blessed that my children get to learn and grow in such a caring environment. Everything this school does they do big and full out. It is overwhelming to see the parent involvement and holiday events. One important addition is they have specific Math teachers so that home room teachers can focus on their class and students are able to have real one on one curriculum by a professional Math teacher. Well I had recommended this school for several reasons, 1st off because they teach the word of God which is fantastic, we as my son daughter in law and my grandson went for a tour of the school and still impressed, I thought this is fantastic were off to a great start, then my daughter in law signed my grandson up for the school, the parents were called in for a interview and took my grandson with them. Apparently it didn't go to well, the lady that spoke to them asked several questions and apparently at the end of the meeting which was also cut short and the lady was very rude and told them that they the class was full and they would have to wait. Didn't make since because they had openings before they had this meeting now all of a sudden the class is full, no way, so I called the main office and to find out they had opened a new school off of Val vista and ocotillo, wonderful My grandson was so excited and so were the parents of our be able to get him in, but apparently the school or should I say a few of the staff were very rude and treated not only my grandson poorly but also the parents, I'm shocked to even hear what they had told me of this school, my grandson needed a few extra help in some areas speech persay, not only do u have to pay a lot of money to go to this school they were told they had to pay for all these extra for the help he needed, which they were told around 30,000, they made it so bad for them they withdrew my grandson out of this so called Christian based school they call it and they still had to pay for the rest of the school year. Not only some of the staff that treated my son and his wife poorly so did the principal of this school, it was like they wanted them gone, I was floored, these people video tapped my grandson without the parent's permission and sent the video to the parents, I can't go into all the details because there were too many, so your homework before, I will never recommend this school to anyone, after what they had to go through, it's really sad they deceive many people making them believe it's a Christian school you don't treat anyone with disrespect or of hate no matter what. Can't speak highly enough about GC. We prayed for the right place for our daughter to attend school. After a couple years of homeschooling we knew it was time for her to go back to in person . Best decision ever to enroll her at Gilbert Christian. She comes home everyday always talking about how good her day was. She loves her teachers and has made great friendships. Being able to have her attend school and have the freedom to speak about her beliefs is amazing. What's more amazing is the partnership we have with the staff and that they intentionally pray for the kids, teach truth in love and want Gods best for them all. Truly blessed to be a part of Gilbert Christian! So happy we said yes! read more

Catholics: I'm writing this review to try and save you the frustration we felt when GCS emailed us to let us know they will not be accepting us to their school because we are Catholic and they prefer "Protestant and Evangelical" applicants. I asked during our tour if there were any Catholic students and what the general attitude is toward Catholic applicants and I was told they have Catholic students but they do not teach Catholicism. I was not seeking a Catholic education for my kids, I was seeking a Christian education with focus on the Bible and scripture. I feel as though we were mislead and I wish GCS had been upfront regarding this stipulation for acceptance simply so they wouldn't have wasted our time and gotten our hopes up. I understand they cannot accept everyone and require certain metrics to funnel the right applicants, I just wish they would have been upfront and honest with us. read more
