Then ontop of that replacing parts without running it by us, giving us a quote, or even authorization to replace these parts. Darren was fast on his responses, provided great customer service, very informative, budget-friendly pricing, and best of all... was bluntly honest(in the good way) when it came to what work your car actually needs. I've been taking my car to a dealership for all it's service needs and was told that I would need to change my rear and my front brakes. I knew that my rear brake pads needed changing, but wasn't quite sure about the front pads. So I took it to Gilbert Motor Service and wahla... Darren told me that the front pads have more than half the life left on the front pads and therefore don't need to change them for quite a while. My suspicion from the dealership was right and I was a happy camper with only needing the rear brakes changed out. Definitely recommend Gilbert Motor Service for all of your service needs! read more

Darren and his crew at Gilbert Motors did an excellent job in getting my wife's 2007 Elantra (with over 200,000 miles) road ready for a Thanksgiving trip we were taking. The car isn't used very much anymore, and I was a bit nervous about taking it. However, not only was Gilbert Motors able to check the entire car over and give her a much needed brake job, but also fixed the air conditioning which kept us all comfortable on our long trip. I called Gilbert Motors first thing in the morning to get an estimate to replace the ignition lock cylinder on our 1998 Sienna (the key wouldn't turn). They told me they could replace it with a Toyota part that would cost over $300 just for the part, but recommended taking the cylinder to a locksmith to try and refurbish it at a cheaper cost. They were able to get the refurbished cylinder installed and the van back to me with a new key in 6 hours. Great service and honesty. Will be bringing our cars there for maintenance from now on. read more

Not a good mechanic when it comes to electrical issues. I took my car to this shop at least 3 times to try to diagnose an issue with my kia. The car was stalling and running rough. I trusted gilbert and his team and they let me down. I spent so much time there for nothing. When i went to get my car back from them Gilbert said and i quote "WE CANT DO ANYTHING WITHOUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON". All i can say is wow. I took it to another mechanic and turned out to be a bad wire going into the throttle body was loose. Sucks that they couldnt fix something simple. On the other hand they did fix a bad transmission sensor thanks to the check engine light . NEVER GO THERE FOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THEY WONT DO ANYTHING WITHOUT A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT . read more

Gilbert Motor Service is incredible and the best in the business. It's incredibly rare to find a mechanic who will tell you exactly what's wrong because they can convince anyone that a number of things are wrong with the car (even when they're not). But they never did that here. They easily spotted what the overheating issue was to my 2006 Sebring and was done the next day (after getting parts). I paid cash since the repair was under $500 and I am incredibly satisfied. I will be going back for all future repairs and tune-ups for my vehicle. Had this rattling sound in my car. Daren checked & said possibly the struts. I checked on line and this runs roughly $300 parts & labor for ONE side. Chin up, I left my car to be serviced. Got the call saying car was ready. Turns out struts had been preciously replaced (I've only had my car 5 months) but apparently the screws were lose & fell out.
