I was in a pretty scary accident. I was driving home from work and it was raining. I proceeded to slow down my guess would be anywhere between 50 and 55 mph driving down the I 75 from sunrise down to Miami. I reach a part of the expressway that is under construction. My car hydroplanes and loses all control I start going into 360 spins. My car is traveling in circles spinning  and I'm hoping I just spin out, but I don't. My bumper ends up striking the median and I bounce off slightly. No airbags were deployed but I am now on the side of the road in the median. And I could see oncoming traffic approaching. I quickly looked to my left I see that I'm close to the exit and I begin driving off the expressway. I pull over I can tell I'm still in the construction zone. I assess the damage on my car and I slowly drive on city streets home. I call my insurance company the following day I explain to them what happened and I try to make light of the situation. They tell me I am at fault. I told them how am I at fault I did not cause my car to lose control. They told me because medians don't hit cars. That's where I felt slightly disrespected. Because I'm thinking when this phone call started they begin with thank you for being a loyal customer for six years. How could you speak to me in that way. That is so disrespectful I could've lost my life last night. By the description of what happened and the assessment of the damage I drove my car text book DMV. We're supposed to slow down in light of dangerous weather. It becomes a customer issue situation and I request to speak to management. They apologizes to me about the way I was spoken to but continues to describe that my premium will go up and I'm at fault. I don't think this is fair, number one I pay my insurance on time six years almost $20,000. Insurance companies have investigators they investigate if someone is claiming fraudulent claims against their insurance company. I proceeded to explain the many different ways that this situation was out of my hands. I asked the person on the phone with me do you know what happens when oil leaking off of a vehicle falls onto the pavement. After the oil falls onto the pavement and the sun hits it directly for hours on end the oil becomes mended to the pavement. Now if it rains on that same spot and my vehicle happens to travel over the exact spot that spot becomes extremely slippery kind of like ice. I also explain to them this could also be another slippery substance from the construction site that was falling onto the pavement and was mended by the sun and was also effected by the rain fall that could've caused my car to hydroplane. I said after six years of being a loyal client don't I deserve an investigation of the site where I almost lost my life. I said do an investigation look into all aspects of the situation before putting me at fault. I get a rental car and drop my car off at Cadillac body shop. I am in my rental car for a month two weeks into the month I reach out to the Cadillac body shop. They advise me my car is not ready. Make note this is the Bremen Cadillac body shop on Biscayne Miami Florida. After a month has passed I get a phone call your car is ready. I expressed to them I'm tied up for the next two days working excessive hours. They car me the next day but this time is some kind of bully tactic to pressure me. I tell them let me try to figure out when I can pick the car up as soon as possible. Keep in mind during the whole time of the situation I was never contacted by an insurance adjuster. I have never experienced bad service like this in the six years I have been a Geico customer. Once I move to Miami I've had the worst experience with this company. They begin charging my credit card for the rental car. I had to leave work and drive straight home to figure out the situation. I called Geico. I am on the phone for two hours three hours this is the ongoing situation every time you talk to customer service. I told him credit back my money I would drop off the rental and pick up my car. I eventually spoke to the adjuster he was extremely rude very condescending very disrespectful I would never have this person work at any business on the planet earth. I go to Cadillac to pick up my car at the body shop takes my deductible first without presenting me my vehicle. They drove the car down to me and my whole Cadillac Cue and interface is not working and some burnt/chemical smell coming from the AC vents. read more

GEICO might be good with their customer service, but when its time to file claims against them they are a NIGHTMARE! One of my employees was driving down I-95 is a company pickup truck, when he gets clipped from the back and spun a half a dozen times. Luckily he was okay and the truck wasn't horribly damaged, a couple grand of damage. The police ticketed the other driver, completely his fault. 6 months later... we are still trying to get GEICO to pay for the repairs. They admit the other guy hit us, and it was his fault, but nope! They aren't going to pay. Why, you ask? They know it will cause us more to get a lawyer and take them to court for the damages then it does to fix the damage. When I asked an insurance agent friend about his thoughts, he ranted for 30 minutes on what a pain in the ass it is to deal with GEICO. read more

Alex was very friendly and patient which I appreciate a lot. Alex helped me with changing car insurance and I am very happy with switching over to Geico from Esurance. I was able to cut my monthly cost to half of what I was paying when I switched over to Geico. Promises promises promises is the only thing this agent can offer you ..... My car was broken into and they tried to steal it .....they broke the ignition but couldn't start it and left it as such. First, Geico took it to the wrong place. Second, at their insistence I took it to a Geico service center where they assured me they would provide a rental car. Then they told me that they wouldn't cover car rental until they did a further investigation that would be ready by 4:30 pm on Monday (this was on Friday at 2:00 pm) ..... That means 4 days without rental car (How I am supposed to get to work ? .... when I posed that question they simply said .... I don't know ... that's up to you). Additionally they said they couldn't guarantee that they would cover out of pocket car rental expenses .... EVEN IF THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG ..... CITING THAT THEY'RE WITHIN THE PARAMETERS OF REGULATIONS DICTATED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCIAL SERVICES .....
