What a fantastic new coffee/tea spot in an amazingly beautiful spot! Right off the marina you get a delightful breeze and it's a prime spot if you like to watch the sunset. It's a family owned business and you can see and feel the love and passion they have put into the spot. They also have a few beers on tap and a select few in bottles along with wine and nitro coffee! I tried their Merry Mint Mocha special and it was like coffee dessert in a cup served at the Goldilocks temperature. Not too hot not too cold. Perfect sipping temp. I also tried their winter toast special (I was tempted by the muffins - but who can resist the temptation of a good sourdough bread!) I could have had 10 slices of it as it was topped mascarpone, a homemade grand marnier cranberry compote, and sprinkled with a candied ginger granola! A beautiful new addition to Stuart! The nitro cold brew on tap was smooth and delicious. The avocado toast was yummy and fresh. The view can't be beat and the atmosphere is absolute heaven. They have different types of coffee from hot to frozen. The staff is very friendly and will make your coffee anyway or custom to your taste anyway you like it. They also have pre wrap sandwiches and snacks. The coffee is a little on the pricey side but the atmosphere is awesome. They have a fire pit out front with chairs on the dock beautiful view in the evening if you've never been here drop by and try it, it's worth it. The only thing that's a little bit of a pain is parking you can park across the street or at the restaurant next door it's free and they give you 10% off your order if you tell them you valeted. This place is amazing! Right on the water. And I asked what sugar free options they have. Usually I get like vanilla cause no one usually has anything, not Gilbert's!!! Pumpkin spice latte and it was to die for! My hubby usually likes full on sugar products but he enjoyed this and just added a packet of sugar! To put it into relative terms; I've been drinking army coffee for 27 years and I'd give chow hall coffee a 1.5 just to beat Gilbert's. My husband and I discovered this little coffee shop the weekend that it opened last year while visiting our daughter in FL. We've come back multiple times and always make sure to head to Gilbert's! I wish that I could take it home with me to Charleston! Not only is it the best latte that I've ever tasted, husband agrees with me, but the friendliness of the owners and the baristas is top notch! I always order the Mexican Chocolate Latte with oat milk. Yum! Traditionally, my husband orders just a regular cup of coffee with cream and sugar, but this visit, he ordered a Cardamom Latte with half and half. It was so good that we had to go back the next day for another. Actually, we'll probably go back again today! Also, I eat a vegan/pescatarian diet. Gilbert's offers so many vegan options that I haven't yet tried. I've only been there for the coffee, but they also have smoothies and menu items. read more

Stopped here while visiting on spring break. The coffee is delicious, the decor is beautiful, and the view is amazing too. Also they have eco-friendly straws but instead of the mushy paper straws everyone else seems to have, they have glass and it's amazing. Definitely a fun place to start, or end your day. read more

I was so ready to fall in love at this place, but Gilbert's has some preventative issues with their food quality, drink quality, and staff. The ambiance is great, being on the water and all, but my suggestion is to enjoy that view by talking a walk right by it, marveling at how the (few) people patronizing Gilbert's manage to keep their coffee/food down. Their avocado toast ($11) makes wet cardboard sound appealing --my friend could barely finish it, and wants me to add that it "put the sour in sour dough." My spiced latte (~$5.5, "Mexican" style) was spiced for sure, which is typical for hot chocolate, but didn't work in their latte --in fact it was unrecognizable as a latte and was terrible. One of the staff members, who didn't take my order, was friendly... but the one who did take my order was clearly upset I was distracting her from Snapchat and Instagram, and was visually displeased as I walked in the door. Beautiful place though, but Gilbert's is going to be a no-go. read more

Love Gilbert's COFFEE!!!!! A friend of mine got me a Dirty Chai Latte from Gilbert's Coffee Bar and now I am such a HUGE Fan! I went there today and got coffee for everyone at my office because it was so good! The location is great! It is right on the water and they have some nice spots outside to sit and relax as well as some comfy seating inside. I had a pastry that looked like a pop tart and it was cinnamon with icing. Loved this place. Had a latte, it was perfection. My friend got the avocado toast and told me it was the best thing she's eaten in years. Reasonable prices for coffee, and you can't beat the view. Sat on the porch for a few hours and never felt rushed or unwelcome. Only suggestion , maybe a few more small plate suggestions or baked goods? Wow, I was blown away by Stuart's newest coffee shop. This place is absolutely gorgeous and well appointed, and I finally had one of the first delicious lattes made around here. The indoor/outdoor seating is like no other. The turkey cranberry sandwich was delicious - they offered to warm it up. The green smoothie was equally as fresh. The service was average. The parking situation sucks as it shares the parking lot with Sailor's Return. There was not a spot to be found nearby around lunchtime and we ended up walking quite a way to get there. read more
