Buyer Beware -- Never Again. I have purchased vehicles from GILLELAND Chevrolet over the years, but this experience was extremely disappointing and revealed a serious lack of integrity. During the purchase of a new truck, I was never informed that the "new" vehicle had previously been damaged on the dealership lot and repaired through their body shop at a cost of nearly $7,500. This was not disclosed until I was already in the process of trading in my truck. This information should have been disclosed upfront during any of my three visits to the dealership while sales managers were actively pursuing the sale -- not at the last minute. I agreed to a rewind-style purchase, but after delivery I discovered additional undisclosed damage, which raised even more concerns about transparency throughout the transaction. After numerous phone calls to the sales manager -- including degrading remarks made toward me -- the rewind process was finally initiated. During that process, I also discovered that GILLELAND had already listed my trade-in truck for sale on their website even though the rewind period was still active. To make matters worse, I was charged over $1,500 for detailing and service work on my trade-in without my authorization, and those charges were deducted directly from my refund. A letter regarding this matter was sent to GILLELAND Chevrolet by the Attorney General's Office, and to my knowledge, no response has been provided. As a senior woman purchasing independently, I expected honesty, transparency, and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I ultimately drove over 600 miles to a dealership in Spearfish, South Dakota, where I purchased the identical new blue EV truck. I had a terrible experience with Gilleland Chevrolet Cadillac and strongly advise others to stay away. I purchased a used electric vehicle for my son and paid in full upfront. Before buying, I specifically asked the salesperson via text about the battery range, and was told it could go "up to 75 miles." But during a short test drive--only about 10 miles--the battery dropped dramatically from 49% to 14%. When I asked why, the salesperson mentioned it on highway driving. I was caught off guard, but ended up signing. That was my mistake. However, after thinking it through on the way home, I became seriously concerned about the battery's health. I decided to cancel the purchase before the car was delivered. The next business day (Monday morning--they were closed Sunday), I reached out early to cancel. The salesperson initially responded nicely and said he will talk to his manager. But shortly after, I started receiving calls from three different sales managers, one after another. They were aggressive, intimidating, and pressured me into accepting only a 70% refund of what I had paid. They blamed tax credit issues and said they couldn't void the IRA filing because 48 hours had passed--yet they were the ones who delayed submitting it in the first place. Despite the fact that the car had not been delivered and was still in their possession, they threatened to send the vehicle to my home unless I agreed to their terms. I felt trapped and scammed. Yes, I take responsibility for signing too quickly, but their handling of the situation afterward was completely unethical and predatory. read more

BEWARE!! Gilleland's quoted us a price on a brand new vehicle that we test drove and wanted to buy. However, we had been there 3 hours already and it was closing time and wanted to mull it over, so we said we would chat the next day. Gilleland called us the next day saying they messed up and the quote they gave us the night before was actually on the wrong vehicle. They were quoting a 2024 not a 2025. So, the GM and I agreed on a price over the phone of what it would cost us, everything included, taxes, fees, etc. OUT THE DOOR. We bought the vehicle for the agreed on price, took it home and drove it for 2 weeks!! THEN, to our surprise, after 2 weeks of driving and adding several accessories, we received a call from Gilleland demanding $6000 more!! Stating they forgot to collect a down payment! The GM said the price we agreed on the phone of OUT THE DOOR was also suppose to have a $6000 down payment. AND...the business manager also called my son while he was at work and threatened him with charging him with a FELONY if he didn't pay it! Their quotes are trickery and when our son E-signed the papers, the way it was written up, WASN"T as the GM had promised! I called in Saturday morning for an oil and filter, talked to Dylan at the parts counter. He was very eager and helpful to get me what I needed and recommended somewhere I could go for parts he didn't currently have. Great costumer service, quick response time, and friendly. I was advised by the sales manager on the phone that everyone that financed a vehicle with them that they would pay the tax and title even though I was financing with GM finance. I drove 4 hours to the dealership and gave them my deposit and they added the tax and title to my loan. I did not notice it right away and when I called the sales manager he denied it and said they are required to add tax and title to the loan. I called GM financial and they said that is not true. I left a message with the dealer principle and the general sales manager and neither returned my call. I called a second time to the general sales manager and still no call. I emailed him and advised him I called several times and he still did not respond. Several days later I posted a review on their web site and finally the GM emailed me right away and asked me to call. I talked to the GM and he said that he looked through the call log and did not find my messages. Really doubtful but soon as I wrote a review that finally got his attention. I told him to pull the recorded call and listen for himself when the sales manager offered to pay the tax and title. Well 5 days later and he has not responded. Amazing! I am sure he heard the same thing that I did and now just ignoring me and expecting this to go away. Definitely a business that lacks integrity. read more

If there was a no star rating, that is definitely what I would give Gil LE Lan D. I had the craziest Mr. Roger's. Wanna be sales person? Then switched in the middle of everything. He talked me into this car that I did not want. I didn't feel good. I didn't want to make my decision that day. Very, very pressured the only good thing out of the whole. Shebang is that I Was reunited with an old friend I was very disappointed because I spoke up this business for years. Because I had friends whose whole family had gone through them for several years of business and new vehicles. However, I would not recommend this place to anyone. They don't back their word. Gilleland sold a vehicle 'as is' to my 19 year old son. It was his first time at a dealership on his own to purchase a car. It was made clear to him that the salesman was taking more time to impress his manager with a sale than to listen to the customers' wants and needs. Knowing that the brakes needed servicing it was brought to another local dealership. They found that not only were the brakes unsafe to drive, the front tie rods, on both sides of the vehicle, needed to be replaced as they ALSO made it unsafe to drive. The interior of the car was also disgusting; the previous owner had a long haired dog and CLUMPS of hair along with dog urine were cleaned from the upholstery. Note also that there was a period stain on the back seat (if you know, you know). After a call to the service manager, the only thing they offered was a 20% discount on service. They gave me excuse after excuse as to why they let this car go to an unknowing customer in its condition. His customer service left a lot to be desired as well. I am a mother to six children. Suffice it to say there will be quite a few vehicles we will be purchasing in the future. They won't be from Gilleland. read more

Do not purchase or service your vehicle at this dealership. I brought my vehicle in for warranty work and not only did the Service Advisors not return my calls but I never received a work order. I don't know if they performed any work on my vehicle. I called the General Manager and he was unprofessional and said they don't have to call back with any information about my vehicle. I expected this from him because everything he stated was untrue about the appointment time, the service performed and the service advisors lack of communication. read more

This was our first time doing business with Gilleland Chevrolet, and this will definitely not be our last! Though we just bought a new 2023 Chevy Blazer, it will be awhile before we are in the market for a new vehicle. We were looking to replace a Chevy with another one, though we were unsure with what. There was not a lot of inventory in our area, so we put in an inquiry with Gilleland, 90 minutes south. Jason got back to me right away and we started talking about the Traverse and he also suggested the Blazer. Jason is very knowledgeable and I felt comfortable with setting an appointment. We set the appointment and Silas greeted us as we walked in the door. Silas asked us questions about what features we are looking for and our price point. He pulled up for us to test drive a Blazer, Traverse, and Silverado. Though after driving the Blazer, we knew that is what we wanted, but wanted to compare the three. Nothing wrong with the Traverse or Silverado, they just did not meet our current and future needs. We threw a lot of questions at Silas, and he answered them quickly and competently! He is a real professional and knows the products and features very well! We came to an agreement on price and terms, and then we worked with Christian to sign papers and Silas handed us our keys! In three hours we went through the entire process! Very low stress and no pressure to do anything but make an informed decision! And Silas did a great job getting us to the finish line! They sell junk cars. I had bought a new truck that I had ordered in 2021. The process didn't go the smoothest, I don't think anybody's did during the vehicle shortage, but my truck sat there at Gilleland for another three weeks after it arrived with issues mechanically/mechanics. The second vehicle I bought was a used Honda Odyssey, 2010.But I had problems with two days after driving it off the lot. Misfire codes, and hesitation No power. I had it checked at Luther Honda. After calling Gilleland and letting them know that there were issues,They said all they could do is give me 20% off of parts to fix it. Throughout the next couple months, nothing but problems changing spark plugs, Breaking down, tow charges, rental cars ,and a catalytic converter. I Looks like I'm holding the bag. Most car dealerships offer a five day or 2000 mile warranty with any vehicle. Make sure you find that dealer, I would not shop here. Very disappointed with customer service And the management here. I brought the van back in recently to possibly trade it off to get maybe half of what I put in but they didn't go for it. I went elsewhere. I will never go back to Gilleland! read more

We purchased a 2013 Nissan Altima for our son for college. We noticed the car had a broken windshield, the AC did not work, it had one set of keys, and the battery was corroded. This was our third vehicle purchased from Gilleland. The salesman, Ben said they would fix the AC and battery but told us to turn in the cracked windshield to our insurance company after we buy it stating, "it doesn't really matter who's insurance covers it". Bad business!! They did fix the AC and batter, however, that was not the problem it was the coolant system. We also looked into another key fob because the saleman told us it would be inexpensive to get a replacement. We called a Nissan dealer who informed us that would cost near $600 to replace. We contacted Gilleland who would not help us get a replacement. Also, we have continued to have issues with the coolant system. We called their service department who tells us they only refilled the Freon but it took them three times because their machine wasn't working. That was a lie, we found the service slip stating it was the fans for the coolant system. We will never work with Gilleland again. Very disappointed, especially since we are return customers. read more

I originally came in August 8th to get my brakes looked at and get my arm rest replaced. I was told they would have the arm rest in in a day or two. A day or two goes by and no call. Then a week, then a month, and then two months. I finally called in October. The fact that I was told it would be a day or two and then over two months later I had to call is absolutely pathetic. That is terrible customer service. Then I finally come in to get it replaced and it took almost two hours to replace an arm rest. That is literally four screws. Once again pathetic. I will not be coming back, I will drive 20 minutes to Cold Spring, where i will at least get good service. read more

Never buy a vehicle from this dealership. I certainly never will again. The sales folks are absolutely untrustworthy and constantly change their word from what they promise in order to get the initial sale. For instance, saying that a vehicle's minor defects would be fixed and then changing their mind and fixing nothing after the sale was concluded. The sales staff misrepresented their ability to clear up a title issue, and then changed and said they couldn't help at all. They claimed that they tried to contact us multiple times, when they didn't try once. They changed the trade-in offer mid-deal. Before i tell my story i should note that i have purchase 2 vehicles from Gilleland before. I was looking for a truck about a year ago. I Called Gilleland about a truck I found on there website. They told me to come in for a test drive. I get there and they told me they are using that truck for a billboard and that they have other used trucks that I can look at. So I reminded them what my price range was again and that it was my top dollar that I wanted to afford. What do you think happened? Just what I thought would happen. They pulled up a truck . I asked what the price was on the truck and they said it was in my range. We take it for a drive and the sales person says this truck is about $*** a month. So I turned the truck around and headed back to the dealership. The truck was only $10,000 more then what I had told them I wanted to spend. Over the phone and again after the first truck was no longer available. A sales person is there to help you find what fits your needs and wants. Like a realtor is. When your looking for a $150,000 dollar house. The realtor doesn't show you houses in the $250,000 dollar range. They would like to with the commission. But they don't because you cant AFFORD it. We've had various vehicles serviced here over the years. We liked the fact that they have a shuttle that will bring you home or elsewhere, and pick you up. It's a nice service while your vehicle is being worked on. We stopped in last night to take a look at some used vehicles. Silas, the salesman, was great. No high pressure. He asked us what we were looking for, and worked to find some cars for us to test drive. It was a very positive experience... well, as positive an experience as looking for a vehicle can be. I recently attempted to buy a new truck from Gilleland. The sales man was great. The sales manager, however, was a different story. He tried to "strong arm" me into a lease. I guess I did not realize that Gilleland is in the "rent to own" business. After telling this sales manager 2 times that I did not wish to lease, he continued on to pressure me into a lease. 2 + hrs later I still did not have a confirmed trade in value for my vehicle nor potential interest rates. I felt totally disrespected as a woman and an adult. I will not be purchasing a vehicle from Gilleland. This also makes me question their integrity and honesty. I will take my business elsewhere. After buying a new malabu I was talked into buying a warranty that covers the paint and seat covers. The claims about the paint coverage were pure B.S. The seat cover warranty was troublesome at best. I brought the car in a few times and the guys in the service shop went out of their way to fix things. The service guys are great. The last time I brought the car in for service, it was decided that pictures had to be taken and sent into the warranty company. 2 months later the warranty company decides that they won't clean or repair the seats because the stains were older than 30 days. Of course they were. They took 2 months to respond. To Gilleland's credit. They did all they could to clean the seats. They've always been extremely helpful with warranty issues on their end. This time they even refunded part of the warranty purchase price to me. I may buy cars from Gilleland again but I've learned a lesson and will never buy an extended warranty again. read more

I brought my car here when I was having engine trouble. They were willing to come pick up the vehicle, but after that things were not good. It was decided by the technicians that my car had too much wrong with it to fix, and as a result they decided not to put my dismantled engine back together. I was charged for the hours spent taking the car apart and advised that repairs would be in the $1000s of dollars. I asked about rental cars, but was given no advice or assistance. I received several calls from the sales department, looking to capitalize on my situation by selling me a new vehicle. They were willing to give me up to $1000 on my broken down vehicle at this point. I decided to go with a different dealership for my next car, and when I inquired into the payoff on my old car, they were suddenly only willing to pay the cost of the shop bill in exchange for the entire car. The employees were apathetic to the entire situation, which I'm sure they see all the time, yet I would have been willing to do business with them had they shown a glimmer of compassion for the very difficult situation of suddenly finding yourself without transport. I will not be returning to Gilleland Chevrolet for any reason. read more

I will never buy another truck or have one serviced at Gilleland! They say anything to make a sale and don't seem to even care about what I said was important to me. I wish I could add a photo to show how sloppy they ran the wiring for my accessories. They cut a 2" hole in the floor in front of the passenger seat, right next to the door. The also forgot to install a second battery that I had requested for all if the extra electric components I run for my work. I'm amazed they are still in business if they treat all the buyers of a brand new truck with such disregard once the sale is made. read more

To begin, the customer access folks I dealt with were great. Very professional, easy to deal with, and polite. I scheduled an appointment for an oil change. It took 1 1/2 hours to get it done because they had to do a 'maintainence check' (whatever that is). I was told there was a recall on the vehicle that would cost me over $80 to fix because I was over the 36,000 miles. I have a 2015 truck with 41,000 miles that I paid over $60k for...yup, makes sense to me. Additionally, what was the 'maintainence check' for? 3 miles after I left the dealership my 'low washer fluid' light came on. Seriously?!? Check it but don't do a damn thing about it! I can go to ANY oil change place for 1/2 the cost and get twice the service in 1/3 of the time. I'm NOT HAPPY and will NOT return to this dealership. I had an oil change done in Texas last year on the same truck... All the fluids were topped off (even the DEF), the oil change was done, and they even washed and vacuumed the truck before giving it back. That was GREAT service in less than an hour. Gilleland could learn from the dealership in Texas. Also, while I was waiting for the 1.5 hours I inquired at the parts area about getting some Weathertech Floormats for this truck. I was told by one gentleman that he would go get the right guy. He NEVER returned and NOBODY ever showed up to help me! That was a lost sale of floor mats as well.
