Visiting in town from California where in the place I'm from wineries abound. Thought I would visit this winery to check it out My friend and I arrived about on a Tuesday evening and it was busy! We ordered a white flight and a red flight (very reasonable only $10 each!) The flights arrived and we began our tasting. Of the white flight we both agreed the Verbena was our fave. The Diablo Rojo was our pick for the reds. We decided to order a couple of appetizers and a flatbread to share for dinner. The chicken bacon ranch flatbread was okay, nothing to celebrate here. Could have used a drizzle to perk up the flavor and eliminate some of the dryness. Next up loaded tots. They were really good, with two ingredients stealing the show. The pulled pork that topped them from Miller's meats was phenomenal, full of flavor. The next star of the show was the chipotle ranch drizzle; it combined with the BBQ sauce and bacon bits was a flavor explosion! Finally my favorite was the Bacon and Bleu Cheese Munchies. Kettle chips topped with bacon, provolone, bleu cheese, balsamic glaze and scallions! The bold flavor from the bleu cheese combined with the balsamic glaze was bold and delicious! Finally the ambiance was so peaceful. Despite the patio being full, the light breeze and chorus of cicadas, with their choreographed ebb and flow, made the night truly magical! I highly recommend for a peaceful retreat. read more

2nd time here and both fantastic. Nice little winery on the edge Findlay. Walking distance from the Holiday Inn and a couple other hotels. Nice little menu with a few sandwiches flatbread pizzas even some desserts. Great wine selection with suggestions on the menu for pairings. This evening I had a charcuterie board along with a bacon, ranch flatbread, pizza, and a Merlot. Great dinner to wrap up the evening outside on the patio. read more

In my opinion the wine was similar to the wine you get from make-at-home kits. Idea was good though, you can't blame a girl for trying.

I haven't been here in quite awhile. My daughter and me stopped in yesterday because my daughter had never been there. I ordered a FBC Fort Findlay Stout and she ordered a flight of the dry whites. We ordered an appetizer, the jalapeño jelly, club crackers and cream cheese. It was outstanding as always. We both ordered a flat bread, she ordered the Don't go bacon my heart, which was a breakfast flatbread with eggs, bacon, ham and cheese. I ordered the Findlay Cuban which was great! I have never had a bad visit to Gillig's, the food, drinks and service are always perfect. Keep up the great things that you guys are doing! read more

I placed my order, got a bottle of wine and 20 minutes later they tell me they are out of buns and cannot make sandwiches. Still got 5 stars. That tells you the quality of service and the food. I had the chicken tortilla soup. Cheesy good. I had the bun less chicken sandwich with pesto, sun dried tomatoes and provolone. Excellent! Chocolate and Cabernet for desert. Called to see if they took reservations. I was told no not really. I asked if I could make them any. She said oh sure. We arrived approximately 20 minutes early. I was pleasantly told "let me check if we have a table ready". Then was said yes we do & was then seated. Tables were not filled. A pleasant waitress took our wine, appetizer & sandwich order. The wine & appetizer came within 15 minutes. The wine was good & appetizer tasty. 30 minutes later I asked when would our sandwiches arrive & was told not for 30 minutes. I joined a wine club at the winery here in Findlay - I get 1 bottle free/month and free flights anytime I stop by... so it seems like a good deal. Discount on food. And a free wine glass ... 30 wines, red, white, fruit and specialty. Dry to Sweet. The food was pretty good. The winery decor is winery sophisticated nice place. I haven't tried the deserts but they had several. The flights are good, typical prices. I liked the fruit wines (sweet). I'll probably try other flights in the future. read more

This was the first stop on our girls weekend in Ohio! (two from Ann Arbor and one from Columbus - this is our 1/2 way point) We tried the flight tastings for $6 - tasting of 5 wines. While two were way too dry, one was okay and the other two were just right and went home with us. And there are five local drafts for the non-wine drinker. - no flight of that just yet. The pulled pork flatbread with the slaw on top was wonderful! the cheese plate with cheese, fruit and dark chocolate chips, but the topper was the jalapeno jam. Oh, sweet little baby Jesus toes! That was so freaking delicious! I can't wait for them to be able to sell that jam! I will return! read more

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and enjoyed our time at Gillig Winery. Setting threw us off for a winery, but once inside very nice. The interior is clean and modern. Nice bar front but no traditional tasting bar. Wine flights are pre-chosen which was a bummer; however you can taste any open bottle for 1.50. We are sweet wine drinkers which narrowed choices. No sweet reds and 1 sweet white which meant fruit wines for us. We really liked the the Khaleesi and BlackBerry Dream. Service was solid and pleasant. Would stop again if in the neighborhood. read more

My fiancé and I stopped by as we were passing through town on a Saturday afternoon. It's a very nice establishment with very pretty decor, it actually seemed brand new to me until the waitress told me that they've been open for over 3 years. We didn't order any food so can't comment on that. We decided to order two wine flights, one of the mixed variety and one of the specialty wines. We were happy with our selections because we could at least try 2 whites and 2 reds in the mixed flight, but be aware of ordering the specialty as they are all a sweet blend / sparkling variety. There was ample seating inside and a small couch and two nice chairs in front of a fireplace. Theres also seating out front if you'd like to sit outside, but the view is the hotel across the street and the main road. I think this winery should totally open up outdoor seating on the side of the building with a nice fence/walled off section with some plants or landscaping that can really take you away and not make you feel like you're right off of the main road. Otherwise it was a great pit stop, would definitely recommend if you're in the area. read more

I was very surprised to find such a nice little boutique wine bar in Findlay Ohio. The owner is a very nice lady and has a lot of passion for her business. All the staff has exceptional customer service skills and place is very homey. I had the Cuban flatbread and it was fantastic, as good as any traditional Cuban sandwich I'd ever had. I will be taking a group back there tomorrow night to experience it as well. It's in a strange location across the street from a couple of large hotels, but you won't be disappointed. About the wines. They Source grapes from all over the country and the world and have the juice shipped to Findlay where the wine is made on their property. Although it's lovely setting the last 2 visits the service was terrible. The first incident was on Wednesday afternoon. It was not crowded we ordered one round of drinks the waitress asked us we wanted food we were undecided. After when ordered the second drink we did order an appetizer and she brought the items and the bill. We were waiting for others to join us but we felt so unwelcome we left. The 2nd time we had some time to kill so we headed over for drinks and appetizers. There a few parties inside and outside one waitress seem to have all customers meanwhile one was stocking wines on shelves that were full and other was just standing around. We ordered food never received it and we wanted more drinks but no one bothered to see what we wanted. The waitress forgot to put our food order in. She was clearly overwhelmed. We went elsewhere. Too bad. I doubt I will return. read more

I love the Gillig winery. It took me a long time to find a wine I really enjoyed. The harvest peach and dazzle dazzle (black raspberry) wines are my favorite. They also have some foods which compliment the wines but it's a small selection. They have a calendar of different events through the month which is always interesting! You'll love this place and become a fanatic once you've had their wine! read more

I had the opportunity to visit this winery on opening night with some work colleagues. Even though it was their first day open to the public, what a wonderful experience. The setting is very warm and inviting, and the owners truly made us feel special. My wife enjoyed a taste sampling of (5) wines and stated the Moscato was exceptional. I really enjoyed the craft amber ale that is made right there in Findlay as well. Their menu contained several items we wanted to try, but I chose the Cheesy Tomato sandwich, since it was a Friday during Lent. It was great. My wife enjoyed the Mixed Berry salad, which looked like artwork in a bowl. We will definitely be returning to the Gillig Winery the next time we have the chance. read more

Gillig's is a cute place along I-75. The interior design is rustic and homey. Kristen was a great bartender who made us feel welcome. She was full of knowledge about the products and was gracious enough to share her wisdom. Service was impeccable. The wines were average. The fruit wines are supposed to be very popular and a customer favorites. I am not a sweet wine person so I passed on this selection. This was my 2nd time to the winery. The first I had a flight of my choosing, this is no longer an option (insert sad face), and the second trip a bottle of Chardonnay. I'm quite happy to have a place like this in Findlay! The food was decent, especially considering many wineries are quite limited on the food they serve. If you haven't tried the jalapeño jelly plate, you need to, it's surprisingly delicious. The sandwiches were pretty good. You leave feeling satisfied. The wine is pretty good and I'm interested to see the new ones that they are coming out with! The only downside is that it does get noisy when there is live music, but the couple of times, I've been there they are good musicians. A nicely decorated winery located in a building that also contains a hair salon. Our first, second, and third selection from the wine list they did not have. The waitress thought it would be best to let us know what wines they did have available. We decided on the Strawberry Sensation. The quality of wine was reminiscent of Boone's Strawberry Hill. First time at Gillig Winery. My friends and I enjoyed a flight selection including a fantastic Riesling, which had a crisp finish. Rarely, do I find a Riesling, not to my liking. The Sauvignon Blanc was good as well. Personally, I did not care for the peach wine. Guess because I have had better with a cleaner peach taste and not so sweet. I think many would find the dry reds to their liking. A bit pricey compared to other wineries in NW Ohio and in parts of Michigan, New York and Pennsylvania, where I have visited in recent years. Location did not have adequate signage, as the hair stylist sign is over powering the building s location. Inside decor was very clean, modern and adequate in size. The outdoor area would make for a delightful evening setting. read more

Not impressed with the wine at all, tried a flight and nothing was worthy of buying a glass. Seemed very watered down and lacking flavor. Thought the customer service was poor and unwelcoming.
