SCAMMERS AND THIEVES. We toured the Cottages at Summer Creek on 5/3/25 and were told they offered…read moreshort-term leases. Since we are in the process of building a house and only needed a 7 month lease, this seemed like the perfect solution. We completed our online application on 5/5/25 and paid a $150 application fee and $150 administrative fee. We received an email on 5/9/25 stating that we had been approved and would receive an email shortly with our lease to execute. When we did not receive the lease, I emailed the office on 5/13/25 and received a reply back the same day stating that the lease would be generated shortly. After that, we heard absolutely nothing back and all of our emails went unanswered. We finally drove the two hours from our house back to the apartment complex on 5/24/25 to see if we could speak with someone in person and find out what was going on. A lady named Kyla then informed us that the apartment complex had undergone a management change and could not honor our previously negotiated short-term lease request, as they were only approving leases for 12 months or longer. We told her that did not work for our situation and requested a refund. She said they could not refund the administrative fee but that she could refund the application fee. Since then, we have been emailing repeatedly trying to get that partial refund. Today is 7/15/25 - almost 8 weeks since we originally requested our refund - And all we are getting is a runaround. Avoid this company at all costs. They are scammers and will take your money without thinking twice.
