They don't know the job they are doing as workers for one of the towns busiest restaurants. Waitress or host didn't know the menu , she kept answering i don't know every question I asked. The sides like coleslaw didn't come with the apparently captain platter 4 types of seafood when I only ordered two seafood choice for $14.99 which was on the menu I called from but not in restaurant menu. 14.99 jumped to $24.99 I only brought $42 it was $41 and change. Couldn't leave a tip. She clearly needs to learn the menu and her job . If your going to be snootie and rude to customers don't work in the business of customer service. Clearly she didn't care about making my meals complete with sauces like house dressing for the house burger or Gilmore's signature burger. To spend any money on this restaurant you should always get what you put with it on your menu. The house dressing or coleslaw maybe a fork and a napkin . What is wrong with you people . Are you animals only eat everything with your dam fingers. Wipe your mouth in your arms sleeve . If you never give the customers what they order that saves you on ordering product at the end of the year imagine all the customers you have basically stolen from by not completing our orders.tge people picking up my food were apologetic for all your failures as a business. You do this every day and it should be your priority to make sure orders are correct and complete with what the menu says comes with it. If you want what you pay for don't come to Gilmore's. She said no restaurant has seafood for $14.99 $19.99 is cheaper then anywhere else. It was on your menu so who ever makes your online menus should fix this. I even showed her then menu while she looked at me like I was stupid when she doesn't even know the menu period. She set up the food and didn't deliver the complete order. Gilmore's do better. Got the prime rib and it just really wasn't a great cut and overcooked. Just not a very flavorful restaurant and not one I would go back to - we were in the area and truth be there's not much up there to begin with. Went in on the way up to the hinterlands near the Canadian border. Got here just after opening and we had the run of the joint. So of course we sat at the bar where our new friend Garett was holding court. Highly friendly barkeep and attentive server who seems a de facto ambassador for this place. We both got talked into Sam Adams summer ale; great recommendation by Garett! Nice and chilly without being too cold to taste the nice fruity undertone to this lovely alternative to their overrated skunky lager. Meantime the Queen Bee got a small salad and haddock chowder. Salad was quite fresh and crisp, she tells me. Haddock chowder is one of the items this place is known for and the bowl o' chowdah lived up to its billing. Garett was pleased to hear that! I just had more beer (I am no rabbit) and then had whole belly clams with their homemade onion rings and slaw. That whole plate of goodies was bitchin yum! Clams were that awesome sweet briny taste of the sea that you can only find up this way. Rings and slaw both freshly prepared and NOT from a bag, bucket or Sysco truck! Anyway: next time we make the annual pilgrimage or even during THIS trip, I am waaay ready, willing and able to head here yet again. So long as Garett can put up with me...we are IN, baby!! Woot! Just happened to find this gem while traveling. Efficient service and excellent food. We both had baked stuffed haddock with lobster sauce, which may be the best dish I've ever tasted. A fantastic spot for lunch. There were prices and sizes for all appetites and budgets. I was looking for a quick bite on a work trip, and enjoyed the French onion soup and 1/2 sweet chili boneless wings. There were some great seafood options and sandwiches too. My companions and I had ranged far and wide the day we ended up at Gillmor's. We were much later than usual getting to lunch and we were starving. We were seated quickly, the waitress was very friendly and efficient. I like it when it's hard for me to choose what it is that I'd like to try at a place I've never been - makes me more likely to come back, even though we tend to eat in some out-of-the-way places, like this. We don't usually do appetizers or desserts, but we were so hungry that we succombed to the lure of cheese sticks, and they were great, as was the marinara sauce for dipping. There were three of us and six of them, so it worked out perfectly to keep any of us from overeating. Point in their favor that they are a Coke restaurant, which is not easy to find, unfortunately, in Maine. Two of us had the salad, which was fine - although I prefer iceberg to romaine (romaine is better for you). One of my fellow travelers and I had the same thing: homemade chicken fingers, hers with honey, mine with extra bbq sauce, which could have been better (wish they had Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory & Brown Sugar), but it certainly wasn't bad and that's just me being fussy. The fingers themselves were wonderful - tender and crispy and plentiful. My other friend had the steak and cheese, which she said was also excellent, as were the homemade onion rings, which we all prefer to fries in most situations. They were just the way I prefer them - thin, with a light, crispy coating. Not for me those big, thick sometimes beer battered rings where you chomp down and then pull out all of the onion, to be left with a hollow coating. The service was very good and very quick, which was nice and unfortunately a bit rare in some other restaurants, whether they're busy or not. The only points I would take off, if pressed, would be that they don't use Heinz ketchup. read more

My husband and I happened to be up in Lincoln this past Saturday and we wanted to find a place to stop to eat before we headed home. My husband had never been to Lincoln before and I hadn't been up that way in about 14 or 15 years. Being totally unfamiliar with the area, we had absolutely no clue where we should eat. Lincoln is a very small town, so we knew that our options would probably be quite limited. After driving past a McDonald's (yuck), Gillmor's was the first decent looking restaurant we saw, so we decided to stop since we were both starving and really wanted to eat before we made the hour long drive home. We were greeted and brought to our table immediately and they took our drink orders and brought us menus right away. We decided to get an appetizer to start out with. We went with the sampler, which includes mozzarella sticks, homemade nachos with spinach/artichoke dip, and I believe it had chicken fingers. OMG, it was to die for. The mozzarella sticks were handmade and really thick, not the frozen junk that a lot of other restaurants have. My husband couldn't stop raving about the homemade nachos and spinach/artichoke dip. He said they were hands down the best he's never had, and he's from Boston, so he's had plenty of good nachos before! I had the French onion soup and it was the best I've had in a very long time, maybe even the best I've ever had. It was steaming hot with fresh cheese melted over the top of it. My husband tried it and he agreed that it was amazing. For our main courses, I had the cranberry chicken salad sandwich and my husband had a burger, both of which were fresh and incredibly good. My husband said that the meat on his burger was absolutely perfect (he's a tough meat critic) and we both agreed that the fries were top notch. The service was fast and our waitress was right on top of our drink refills. The serving sizes were pretty big, so we had quite a bit of food to take home with us, which we enjoyed the next day for lunch. I don't know if or when we will ever be back in the Lincoln area, but if we ever do find ourselves back in that neck of the woods, we will be sure to stop at Gillmor's again. If you live in or are ever in Lincoln and you haven't already, I highly recommend checking this place out! You won't be sorry! We wish they were closer to us! read more

This restaurant was a diamond find. Just came up to Lincoln for a bed but found this place. The service was fast and friendly. The appetizer we had was huge and the homemade nacho chips was incredible. I had a half pound burger that was cooked to perfection and the hand cut fries were to die for. This part of Maine is sparsely populated. Lincoln is a very small paper mill town. It was late and we were grateful that we found a room in this town on an otherwise busy fall holiday weekend. Most other places nearby were full. This restaurant had the best ratings in town but it it may have been an off night. The prices were too high for the amount and quality of the food. If we stop by this town again on the way back from Canada, we may stop here again. However, there are other places to eat in town that may be less expensive but just as good. We noticed on the way out that there is also a pub attached to this restaurant. There were a lot more people in the pub than the restaurant. read more

Incredible service and hospitality by manager (?) Rochelle and her staff. After our tire went flying off on 95 en route to Bar Harbor, we got towed to the town of Lincoln. We decided to stop at Gilmore's since it seemed to be the only place to hang out for a bit until we figured out a plan. Pam was bar tending and was very friendly and helpful. We had some good beers, shared some yummy snacks (fried pickles are great!), charged our phones and were lucky enough to find an Airbnb and local taxi through Rochelle. She and her friend went out of her way to make sure the four of us were comfortable and safe (on a budget too) that night and I'll never forget it! So thankful! Me growing up in the Lincoln area, theres really not a lot of places to go out and eat. Gilmore's has basically been the head honcho of the food business in Lincoln. They have a wide variety of food and all of it tastes really good. The chicken wings with a side of fried pickles are the best. Thats the usual I have when I go there. The Buffalo wings are tdf. We smartened up and ordered them without breading. They were 100 times better this way. I'm not a fan of a lot of unnecessary breading. Expect much of it if you order the boneless buffalo tenders, too much if you ask me. Blue cheese dressing is okay. I'm a dressing snob. The ranch with added blue cheese crumbles... a nice alternative. And I'm not a rancher. Service is not fast but it is really friendly and attentive. A great place for a couple or a crowd. I've been getting the sunday pot roast here for years as it is usually great. It comes with mashed potatoes & squash, which is normally great. This summer I was back & ordered it with my family on 8/5/18 along with some fried pickles. The pickles were great. The pot roast was great as usual. The mashed potatoes tasted bland even with the gravy on it. The squash, which is normally excellent, was horrible. It was processed beyond recognition & resembled baby food. None of us ate it. They must have put it in a food processor. What a shame. I don't know what was more annoying, the fly that kept landing on my head or the country music they were playing. On a different occasion, we got a mashed potato pizza, which is great, a regular pie, which wasn't anything special, a shrimp dinner and buffalo wings. The shrimp dinner is excellent, better than we can get in NY. My son got the buffalo wings & was disappointed that they weren't crispy & surprised that they were boneless. I tried it, & thought it they were amazing. the chicken was very tender & high quality & the sauce was nice. I don't think that they needed to be crispy. I'm hoping that they figure out that they shouldn't pulverize the squash. I'll be back there again next summer. read more

The food is decent, no complaints there. Service was lacking. Long time to be seated, ok fine knew that going in. Finished my soda early on, and waitress never returned once to ask us how we were doing. So never got a refill. Had to wait a long time to get the bill as well. Another party could have been sitting at our table, enjoying there meal for the length of time we waited. Other servers did seem a little more attentive, many of the other customers seemed like regulars though (obviously more important than us). read more

Was vacationing in the area with a friend and we decided to stop in here on our last day, we were both glad we did. The food was excellent all around, as was the service. I was honestly expecting to have to lower my expectations given how far in the sticks they are compared to where I'm from but I was pleasantly surprised. We both ordered one of the specials. I had fried chicken topped with cooked apples and smoked bacon which was excellent, but with it I got the absolute best mashed potatoes I've ever had (no lie) and perfectly cooked and seasoned green beans. My friend got a pulled pork sandwich with barbeque sauce made out of "Not You Father's Root Beer" with thick cut sweet potato fries, the pork was super moist and tender and the sauce was just right and paired well with the sweet fries. If you're travelling along Route 95 in northern Maine for a trip, this place is absolutely worth a stop on the way. read more

I ordered steak and cheese after asking the waitress what type of bread it was served on and explaining I didn't want soggy wet greasy bread. She said it wouldn't be a problems, it's on a nice roll. It came on a toasted hot dog roll, all wet and heavy with grease, I scraped out the meat and cheese, tasty but tiny portion. When served, I said "that's a hot dog roll", she said nothing, when she returned, I told her the hot dog roll was unacceptable. Ignored again. Why I left her a $5.00 tip I don't know!! Country restaurant feel in the front, and i think a lounge / bar in the back. We're in a local hotel and looking for dinner. Mom had the honey, garlic n herb chicken, which had been tenderized, and was nicely moist. Came with rice pilaf and a large-soup-bowl salad. I had haddock sandwich (unexpectedly great) with fries( good enough) and a $2 16oz draft(!). Dad had the fish and chips, and also thought the haddock in that was excellent. I'm a picky, picky man when it comes to service, but it was good enough to push this place into solid 4 star territory. Didn't get dessert, but the sundaes looked huge. read more

Best food in Lincoln! Great selection of beers, got allagash white draft, had the baked haddock and a side salad. Good stuff! Way better than timberhouse. Upon arriving I was pleased by the vastness and roominess of the seating area. The tables were big and roomy and the chairs solid and comfortable for the smallest to the larger sized person. Plenty of room between tables as well so we were very relaxed. As I looked around everything looked crisp and clean. The waitress was prompt and very friendly and informative. The menu had a lot of solid options from seafood to beef from salads to wings . Me and my fellow diners chose the chicken parm meal. The chicken alfredo and the salad with apple topped addition. The two salad sides were delicious and the garlic breadstick warm. The salad with apple was huge and loaded with goodies. Both the chicken parm and the chicken alfredo were indescribably tasty. I said I could eat this meal every week . I had the alfredo and had the broccoli addition for an extra .99 . It came loaded with perfectly cooked broccoli and the grilled chicken that came on top was tasty and moist. All the prices were within reason and overall .
