This is a cool little brewery along Gilman street, surrounded by a sea of other breweries and cool places to eat and drink. The bartenders are extremely nice and helpful and the open atmosphere allows patrons to enjoy the fresh Berkeley air and watch the comings and goings of people on the northwest side of town. Their logo is especially catchy and creative. The beers I had were pretty good but perhaps not on the same atmospheric level as some of the more notorious breweries in the east bay.I think I need to buy one of their shirts on my next visit.

One of my favorite breweries to go to because of the expansive beer selection (I love the guava sour) and Joyride Kitchen making Detroit style pizzas in the space! The vibe is the perfect amount of laidback and cozy. There is always plenty of seating indoors and on benches outside. This will always be my go to brewery whenever I want to grab a beer!

A really cute brewery w nice atmosphere . I tried the guava sour beer which was really nice - refreshing and had a unique flavor (4/5$ and the Detroit style margarita which was just ok (3.5/5) - the dough was a bit too thick and a little too dry . They had some other interesting options in the menu which I jujitsu check out next time

Went here with a friend on Friday 2/20 around 4p. The place was nearly empty, except for a group of two couples and another couple off to the side. It's definitely a no frills place and the service is nil. The woman working was less than welcoming or helpful. You order your beer and food at a counter upon entry and then given a buzzer to alert you that your food is ready so you can go pick it up along with your plastic utensils. We ordered a a couple of beers and the $20 Chimichurri Steak Sandwich with Arugula on an Acme French roll, (note, it's not a roll, it's a baguette), and the $15 Garden Salad with arugula, spinach, candied walnuts, goat cheese, apples, Meyer lemon, olive oil and fig balsamic vinaigrette. When we went to pick up our food we were more than a little taken aback by the tiny plate the sandwich and salad were served on (see small square plate in the photo, which is smaller than a 8" paper plate). The sandwich measured between 6-7" and was cut in half and the baguette is maybe 2" wide for $20. So we each got a 3.5"x 2" piece of sandwich. The salad was just a skimpy for $15 bucks. I wish I had remembered to take photo before we ate the sandwich and salad, but we were hungry. I realize inflation has driven up prices but this was ridiculous. The amount of food was barely enough for a 8-10 year-old child, if that. So maybe you're wondering if there are any positives to highlight? The answer is yes! The sandwich and salad were delicious. Just not delicious enough for $35 price tag. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the utensils are compostable and you don't have to bus your dishes!

Great service and exceptional patio, right next door to 924 and very close to good transit.

I originally went to Gilman Brewing for the Whimsey Market event they had going on and decided to order some food and a drink. I got a hemp hibiscus cider (bottled, not on tap) and a gluten free pizza and it was delicious. I've never seen a gluten free deep dish pizza and I was so impressed. It tasted great, but I didn't like that it cost me $50 I think it was all the add ons such as gluten free crust, vegan cheese, chicken, and pineapple. Something to note was that the service was beyond amazing. The guy that worked at the counter was super thorough and really wanted to make sure I got my order correct and even checked if a certain sauce was gluten free. I wish I got his name, he deserves a raise or promotion or something! Also, something to note is both the outside and inside areas are super cute and a great place for a casual hang out. Overall, I really enjoyed the Whimsey Market event and really enjoyed the vibe/food.

Stopped at 3 breweries before finding the right one :-). What a great spot - it's huge with a great staff and a huge variety of beers on draft. We got the Sweet Pear Pineapple Pizza. Pizza is Detroit style - very, very good! 5/24/24 update: such a sweet spot to stop at on our way home. Just beer this visit. Good vibe. Delicious scents (pizzas). New menu! Thoroughly enjoy this spot.

Nice place to grab a brew and a bite. Easy access and parking is not a problem during the day.

Great place for beer flights as they have a wide range of selections. We came here on Friday for lunch and there was plenty of indoor seating, outdoor seating, and seats facing the sidewalk if you want to people watch. What puts this place over the top for me is Joyride Pizza. They make square Detroit style pies which remind me of pan pizzas except with a ton of extra cheese on the edge which makes a cheesy crisp with the crust. Freaking amazing!

I didn't try any but I liked how everything was within the beer garden parameters. I didn't get the beer this time around (except for a sip from a friend's glass) but I had the smash burger with a side salad and I really enjoyed the food, just wish the patty edges were crunchier; other than that, I loved how this fit into my lazy Sunday agenda!

I went to see the visual kei, Japanese rock band, JILUKA, here with my boyfriend and we lined up beforehand for VIP. The staff walked out, showed us the rules for the VIP that was printed on a piece of paper and explained it to us too, they walked down the line to scan us in as well. Venue itself is pretty neat. The front part is a bar area with lots of tables and seating and outdoor seating as well. Since it was before the concert, we were able to enjoy some food and drinks from the bar and kitchen. It was also during their Happy Hour too which was great. My boyfriend got a drink (not sure what it was, but it was refreshing and citrus tasting?) and we shared a Bavarian soft pretzel with mustard and we got the white cheddar dipping sauce added on for a nominal fee. One of the best pretzels that I've ever had! Deliciously soft interior, nice chew to the texture of the exterior. Comes out hot, warm and delicious. Great on it's own, but great with the sauces too. Perfect dash of the coarse salts on it. I'd get this again for sure and would like to one day order more from their menu. The live house music area is in the back in a separate room. Restrooms were clean too. Enough space for the bands to sell their merch and do a meet and greet. Wasn't a huge venue and insane turn out, but it fit the crowd and I liked how intimate setting was. I was around 3-4 rows from the front and even with a mosh pit and wall of death, I was able to shift around and see the band more clearly. Easy visibility no matter where I was shifted around. Lighting was pretty good and made it easy to take pictures and video. I think the vocals were a bit more muffled than the rest of the band members playing, but that might just be the set up more than anything. Of all the venues I stopped by for the week, this had the most approachable and friendly staff. Greeted going and as we were leaving too. I didn't overheat at this one either, so the AC was A+!! There's paid parking nearby but if you read the signs and go around, you can get free street parking too. Bring more J-rock/over seas acts here, it was so good!

I think 100+ is dangerously high. I had ear plugs but i still felt it was just not pleasant. I am sad because the beer, the food, the service was all amazing. And they book great bands.
