Just got here 15 minutes before close, was told last call is 30 minutes before no exceptions....never had their beer, and never will.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon around 4pm, bar had a decent amount of guests but still felt open and spacious with a few tables available inside and outside which was a covered patio. Drinks: Radler - nice light and refreshing, clean and crisp hella with a slightly sweet lemonade, great for a hot day Czech Pilsner - also good nice and crisp with a little bit of malty flavor Service was solid, waited a few minutes for the bartender to return to the bar before we placed our order but other friendly and efficient. Overall a great brewery addition to Emeryville, great German European style beers. We brought our own snacks to munch on but would be nice if they offered snack! read more

A tall older white man, who looked to be in his 50s, refused to tell us his name the entire time and insisted he was "not the owner." The service was terrible from start to finish, and he aggressively pressured my friend into tipping. What shocked me most was that the moment my friend turned around and walked away, I was standing outside clearly saw him raise both hands and flip us off. The beer itself was genuinely very good, which makes this even more disappointing. I feel sorry for the employer who hired someone like this to represent their business. I'm writing this review in hopes that no other customers have to go through the same experience again. read more

Always a great selection at Wondrous Brewing and the staff are nice and welcoming. I tried the Flightwave, Lurkside, and Lunar Ritual IPAs, all wonderful and their descriptions fit perfectly. I was looking at the to-go cans later and the server let me know that they had canned the Wondrous IPA earlier that day and I didn't even ask. That was so nice of him, ended up getting freshly canned Wondrous IPA to-go woohoo! The selection often rotates so you will likely find something new every visit! read more

4++ Brewery that isn't a large space, but a sleek and stylistic space. The vibe here was pretty chill and the beertender was very friendly. I was with two beer appreciative friends. We came here to check out the spot on our way to a dinner reservation in Berkeley on a Saturday night. The place wasn't incredibly busy/ crowded, but I really liked the calm and cool ambiance. We wanted to check out this place because we have had some of their beers at some beer shares in Southern Cali (friends brought some of their cans to our shares). Liked their beers, so thought it would be fun to check out the place. Pretty wide and great selection pouring at the time of our visit. I tend to like the darker beers so I got a dark lager. Also a light lager taster to balance it out. The beers were very good. Overall, a great brewery to visit with great beers/selection and a sleek space to hang with your people. Not sure how busy it gets or on which days/ time. We were there around 7pm on a Saturday and the area didn't feel that busy. Was able to park right out front. I think it may be in the industrial area because we were trapped behind a train crossing for 5-10min about 2 blocks away. I like the spot a lot and would definitely come back. I was waiting for my table at Los Moles for Sunday lunch so decided to come in for a beer. This is a cute place with plenty of outdoor seating. They also have really nice and sleek interior design. The menu isn't too big but the options they had looked decent. I came around 1pm so it wasn't too busy and the beertender was very helpful and friendly. There's craft beer, bottled beer, seltzers, and more. You have multiple size options to order your drinks. Plus, prices are pretty fair. If there was a more extensive menu, I wouldn't mind becoming a regular here! read more

***3.5 Stars*** Wondrous brewing is a mighty wondrous time! You see what I did there?! But on a more serious note, I dig this place. Some friends and I stopped here during the week after work, and it was the perfect spot to chill out and catch up. Their space is tucked away on a semi-busy street in Emeryville. We kind of flocked to their patio and understandably so. They've got the tables with umbrella shades as well as barrels with chairs. I know the patio is poppin' on a warm day! It was a bit cooler when we came, so we started out on the patio and then ended up inside. Unfortunately, they don't have any outside heaters but they do have a nice inside space as well. As far as the beer goes, it's good but I wasn't blown away. They don't have the most variety when compared to other breweries nearby, but they can still hold their own. You can purchase tasters if you aren't sure what to get. Their Wondrous Hell lager was my favorite out of the four that I tried. They also don't have food but you can bring your own. They have menus from Rotten City Pizza that you can order from and they'll deliver it right to you. There was one beertender holding down the fort while we were there and he was really cool. It wasn't too busy when we first arrived, but more people started coming in later on in the evening. One thing to note is that they are strict when it comes to closing time. Once it was 9, the beertender was literally yelling while telling everyone to get out. I felt like a different approach would have been better, but maybe homeboy had some where to be. Maybe people tend to linger a little too long here. Who knows, but he surely kicked us out when the clock struck 9:00. Despite this, we still had a nice time here. We enjoyed our first visit to Wondrous Brewing a few days ago where we relaxed in the bright, colorful, and relaxing taproom while sipping on delicious beers. This was one of the more cozy/relaxing breweries I've been to and could have spent hours here. We split tasters and tried almost every beer on tap. I never knew there was a brewery in Emeryville until recently and this one is great! There's a good variety of beers on tap and they were all delicious -- I normally don't like IPAs and even tasted ones that I enjoyed. They also give you samples of a couple beers to decide which one you want. My favorites were the eternal echo (house dark lagerbier) and maibock (strong German style lagerbier). Wondrous also lets you bring outside food in, so we ordered Good to Eat (fairly new Taiwanese place right next door) and enjoyed with our beer in the outdoor dining area. Wow, all I can say is this is by far of all the breweries I've visited in the Bay Area Wondrous really stands out. First off it's a beautiful and comfortable space , the staff I had the pleasure to meet were friendly and quite charming. The owner/brewer is chill as can be and the beers in taste show a passion for the art of brewing he obviously puts his soul into . Apparently he and his wife own started and run it with a family of employees and it shows they do so with their hearts. But hot da$& the beer is delicious their mainstay Wondrous Hell is as smooth and easy to drink as one would hope. The IPA Janet Brown's Lager inspired me to ponder who's this Janet Brown... she must have something going on. None the less great space great beer and great people. I look forward to next time. Spending more time in Oakland I've had an opportunity to frequent the local craft scene. Today, it's another NoCal favorite to the Avery, Wondrous Brewing. Located near Emeryville, this brewery has bar, table and outside tables, with a newly installed cover for those warm days. The atmosphere is laid back and very cool place to grab a few beers. Speaking of the beers...Wondrous has a menu of great "clear beer" those definitive West Coast style IPAs and lighter offerings like lagers and pilsners. Every clear beer serving I've order has been excellent! Big flavor, strong bite with that fruit WC beers are known to have. The lighter offerings are some of the best I've had (next to Wayfinder in Oregon). Lucky to have found this brewery though my local craft beer bar, who gets cans on a regular basis. Joining Wondrous at the brewery has been solid every time I've been here. The people behind the bar, friendly and welcoming, knowledgeable of the beer they brew. Worth a stop for those looking for quality craft in Oakland? Hell yes! Solid marks across the board for their beer! read more

Found this gem from a friend's growing list of breweries they wanted to try and so glad we were able to pay this "Wondrous" Brewing spot a visit! (Is this pun being overused hehe) It's a smaller brewery but they have a great range of beers for beer lovers to indulge in. I didn't have that much interaction except when ordering with the staff and it was a good experience. They were were kind and helpful. I saw someone mention that they make you pay for a taster. During my experience I was able to "try before I made a solidified decision" If you want to have a sample I'd ask for a "splash" of the specified beer. That's how I was able to try two a splash of two different beers before I decided for my beer of choice. There's indoor and outdoor seating & it was nice to see people bring along their furry friends. We found parking along the street. Would come again if I was in the area. I wish I found out about this place sooner!! I've been living in Emeryville for over a year now and just barely found this place. Unfortunately I'm moving back to San Jose next week otherwise this place would have been my go to! It's quite literally a hole in the wall. If I didn't search up breweries nearby I would never have seen it driving through. It's wedged between two warehouse looking areas. The atmosphere was really chill and nice. My parents and I had a very nice intimate bonding experience here. They have sparkling sodas for people who can't drink alcoholic beverages like my mom. They also have chips for snacks. The right side of their outdoor seating is dedicated to their food vendor which opens at later hours. More on this in a bit. They have both outdoor and in door seating. They have a wide variety of beers on tap as well as canned. They're pet friendly as you can see from my first picture : ). Around 3pm a taco vendor came by and distributed menus to everyone sitting outside. They were quite tasty from what my mom told me! My dad enjoyed his IPA and said he wished there was a spot just like this walking distance from him. Don't quote me on this but I believe a different food vendor comes by every so often instead of the same taco guy. I forgot to mention Wondrous Brewing is only 2 minutes driving away from the Public Market. So if you get bored here due to how small their seating arrangement is you can easily hop over to the Public Market for more food and alcohol! Pregame to the bar over there where you can slam some liquor down. The guys here are also very friendly and knowledgeable about beers. They pointed me towards very delicious brew! Stopped by on opening day and loved every moment of it - from the friendly greeter to the amazing outdoor patio (each table had an umbrella!) to the modern interior with clean bathrooms to the quality brew. They serve drafts in 3 sizes - pint, half pint, and 5oz tasters, which is great if you'd just like a sampler of different beers. All of them are well executed - the lagers are very clean and the IPAs have just the right amount of hops without being overly malty (you know it's quality when the brewer improved the hops over at Sante Adarius). They offer some 4 pack of cans to go and growler fills on selected few. Since they don't have food, they let you bring in food and even recommend you to get take out from some local spots. Although their opening got delayed from 2020, this wait was well worth it. Congrats Wynn and the team!! Fair warning - if you come during peak hours there may be a wait to get a table, so come early! Or if you're like me just find a buddy and tag along at their table, chances are you'll be able to find your beer crew here ;) read more

Fun spot to check out on a weekend afternoon. Firstly, note that there is actually a free parking lot/structure right across the street from this place. So you ca just park there for up to 4 hours. Makes life a lot easier. There is tons of outdoor seating, and some indoor seating. Lots of people here were paying card and board games that the brewery supplies. Makes for a fun social activity. I just got 3 quick tasters and I thought they were all 'ok' - perhaps just not quite my taste but in either case this was an easy way to try a few beers. There was no formal beer flight option. I tried that Maibock, the Single Hop 586, and my favorite was the Beautiful Breakdown. Overall a fun stop in Emeryville! read more

So I have not been on my Bay Area brewery game. I was told about this new spot and couldn't wait to go. First, the brewery is modern and clean. Plenty of outdoor seating and indoor seating. The patio is covered which is also nice. Second, I love when places offer a variety in glass sizes. They have individual tasters so you're not locked into getting a flight, half pints and full pints. They have food options as well. But when we left, there was a long line at the dumplings place next door, so maybe order that and enjoy with a nice Wondrous Pilsner. Los Moles is also on the corner and a shrimp burrito with a malty ale would be nice. The beers are good. They focus on German and Czech styles. I had 2 pilsner and a maibock. All were yummy. Clean and refreshing beer here. Excellent location in Emeryville with loads of street parking. Sort of hidden in an industrial area that we sought out of course, thank you YELP, lol. Very cool family vibe here, dog friendly and a small outside area with plenty of umbrellas to shade you on a sunny day. No food served here, but you can bring food and there are a few spots around to order to go food. The beer itself was good, nothing super extra delicous, but solid for a small brewery. Great brewery in Emeryville! Decently large patio and fairly large indoor space (though not a ton of seating inside). They have about 10 or 15 beers on tap, many of which you can by to-go cans of. I so wish I hadn't seen a staff member come out of the restroom and not wash his hands (it's a communal sink for everyone). Writing this right at the start in hopes that management sees this. Aside from that, this is such a *wondrous* and welcome addition to Emeryville, which had lacked any kind of brewery up until this point! It's in a great area near a few other local businesses and they offer a specious outdoor seating area and a few tables inside. We dined in their outdoor area during their first week of opening and it was about a 45min wait (we just killed time at the Public Market nearby). You simply give them your name and number and they text you when your table is ready (you have 3mins to get back to claim it). Their staff were all very friendly and welcoming. They had 7 beers on tap when we stopped by, ranging from a lager to double IPA. They don't offer flights, but you can combine a bunch of tasters to make your own flight.
