I haven't ordered online yet but I always used to go to the shop in Montclair. I LOVE their Red Velvet cake, cupcakes, and great cookies.

Nick was nice to work with and the cake was fresh. But the $180 cake for my baby's 1st birthday did…read morenot come out as requested/expected. The day of the party was too hectic so I accepted it. A week or so later, I emailed them with the attached picture and expressed how disappointed I was. The professional thing to do would have been to apologize. No response. I spent a lot of time explaining verbally and in writing what I wanted and provided a picture of the classic Winnie the pooh cake I wanted. For $180, he should have told me that he could not do specific characters. Pooh bear and piglet looked more like aardvarks or some random animals with long snouts.

I ordered a cake from Nick about three weeks ago. Even though I have lived here for over 35 years,…read moreno one ever told me about this bakery. Since it was our 50th wedding anniversary, I wanted the Italian rum cannoli cake I remembered for many years but could never find a bakery worth buying that type of cake from, other than lower Manhattan. I went on Yelp and found many people who loved this place and therefore I ordered the cake. Nick was great to talk to. The cake was absolutely delicious. It was just as I ordered and just as I remembered. It is the Italian rum cake, with one layer of cannoli, and one layer of yellow custard. Whipped cream and instead of nuts, we ordered chocolate sprinkles surrounding the cake. So fresh and delicious. Will come here again. From the outside the store does not look like much, but I trusted my instinct to walk in and discuss what I wanted with Nick. Thank you, Nick!

The cake I requested on the left and the cake that they did for me on the right. Does that look like classic pooh and piglet to you??

Came with our parents on a weekday, our first time eating in, but parents had been before. Casual,…read moresmall place. Service was unfriendly and cold. When I finally got her attention for sour cream for my daughter's khinkali she said they ran out. Hard to believe. We brought a bottle of wine as parents said it was BYOB. Wrong. Turns out they just started serving a small selection of specialty wine, so now there was a corking fee - $30 added to the bill for each!! What!?! No sign or note on the menu. I would have put the bottle back in the car if I'd known. Didn't open the wine for us or offer an ice bucket, nothing, just added to the bill. Felt ripped-off and will never return.

My wife and I ended up here for dinner after skipping lunch that day. We ordered three entries:…read morechakapuli, tabaka and adjaruli. For the chakapuli, I enjoyed the tarragon and how it blended with the lamb. Most of the meat melted in my mouth, there were only a few tough pieces. My wife enjoyed the fried chicken more than me. It was tender and juicy, though the garlic was too infused into meat, making it stronger than my preference. The boat bread with cheese and egg worked well with both the chakapuli and tabaka as a starch. It may have been baked after we ordered it. My only complaint was my mouth was salty and dry after the meal, though the effects of that did not linger long. Service was above average and they were very friendly. It's a great place to just sit and talk to others you are with.
