Personally the Miami roll is my favorite, but the Louisiana roll is a close second, you also can never go wrong with their Yaki udon! Ginger is a nice little spot that a lot of people would miss unless they're driving to the movie theater...I've been here on several different occasions...via solo because the wife doesn't do sushi...and I've never been disappointed...I've tried several of the sushi rolls...and the ingredients are fresh...and the rice doesn't taste cheap...but that could be me...they have crawfish fried rice...which is my go to meal...and many other items that I will try...the service is amazing...very friendly staff...the inside of the restaurant has a peaceful feel to it...and it just feels welcoming...I highly recommend this establishment for a nice lunch date read more

I understand nobody wants to work on a Sunday. Maybe we just got stuck with the B team. The food was pretty good I didn't love the Kingwood role left most of it on the table. My main concern was the service. I never got a water, had to ask for plates so we could eat our food. I have been trying to get the check but the waiter is clearly too busy. Order pieces of sushi and it was delicious . Our waitress was very kind and new at the job. I had some confusion about a piece of sushi and the manger cleared up the misunderstanding for me. Over all I enjoyed my meal BUT I will say I was not a fan of the Wong Tong soup and Hot and Sour Soup. I do not recommend those, but the miso soup was a 10/10. read more

I like this place, I've always ordered to go but the restaurant is always clean. The staff is nice as well and the food is always good I've never had anything that tasted bad from here. I will say the sushi rolls are really small so you have to get 3 to even have a "meal". I got 2 rolls (and they are small) with carb puffs (only 4) and it's was almost $45. Wow! What an experience. Server was great! But the "managers" customer service. My wife and I go to eat there and celebrate her bday. Order the ahi tower and we get it. Looks great and as we start to try and eat we both say wonton chips would be perfect. They serve em with that tartar. Beautiful, delicious cuts of fish, friendly and attentive staff, and a nice little calm moment in their clean and well lit space that still felt small and intimate. $15 sashimi lunch is rare these days. Loved this sushi place! Great portions with larger sushi cuts. Here's a breakdown of what we ordered: - Fried calamari: crispy, great sauce, not greasy but probably would've enjoyed another appetizer - Miso soup: standard miso - Wonton soup: very good, the broth is great and definitely a better option than the miso soup - Lion roll: DELICIOUS. Must try! not much is said about this roll but it's perfectly balanced with a nice kick of spice -Unagi (eel): especially good, most restaurants slather their eel in sauce but you're able to appreciate the freshness of the fish at this place -Blue Fin tuna: delicious, safe option for those wanting to try nigiri - shrimp tempura udon: the tempura was perfectly crunchy and the broth was yummy! -seafood udon: the only downside of our meal. We expected a little more than steamed/imitation meats to be thrown in the soup. The broth did not have a seafood taste incorporated at all. Quite underwhelming and would not recommend. - both the unsweet tea and hot green tea were especially good as well -customer service was fantastic, we were served by attentive and caring waiters. I visited here on a weekday since I was in the area. I didn't want to go to my usual place and I saw them last minute on yelp and figured why not. Turns out they are a mini chain in the Humble-Kingwood area. For my main entree I chose the special roll combo which is a choice from 10 different special rolls on the menu, plus a soup and salad. I chose the Houston Maki since I prefer raw ingredients in my rolls. It was pretty basic but tasty. The miso soup is hearty with a lot of green onions and mushrooms. The salad is pretty basic Japanese salad with a sesame dressing. I also added a beef skewer with house special sauce and a yellowtail roll. The beef is good quality and tastes like filet. Since its sort of bland, even though its marinated in special sauce, I felt like dipping it in something, so I just used my soy sauce mixture on the table. The yellowtail roll was pretty standard for sushi restaurants and I didn't get that wow feeling when first biting into it, like I did with the Houston Maki. Service was beyond amazing; thus, I can easily give them 4 stars. I wish I would have caught the name of the waitress. read more

We went ahead & ordered a seaweed salad as an appetizer, Houston Maki house special roll, surf clam sushi & a tempura udon soup (comes with a side salad). I'll start with the seaweed salad, it was fresh & had a nice smell. The surf clam & the Houston maki tasted fresh & had a smooth texture. My tempura soup was light & clean, my shrimp tempura was nicely coated, the batter was light, crispy & not oily which I like. I wish I could give them a more positive review. My reasons for 2 Stars is due to the following: 1) there's a nail salon next door and unfortunately the smell of acrylic is really strong in this restaurant. I'm sure that's not the restaurant's fault, but it really interferes with the atmosphere because it smells full of chemicals and probably isn't the best for anyone's health. 2) food took a while to come out (bento boxes) and the chicken and rice were both cold. It wasn't packed either so not sure why that was. 3) the actual bento box is really sad. It's more like an entree... most places that offer bento boxes have multiple compartments with tempura, crab puff, ginger, sushi etc but this was only a choice of meat, white rice, soup and stir fried veggies. If you check the picture I posted, you'll see it only has 4 compartments instead of the usual full bento box compartments. Ok, finally found a good sushi restaurant that reminded me of another place near Chinatown that we used to love going to. This one definitely is the better one here up north. It's a bit of a drive but worth it! The only thing I constantly crave during my pregnancy is sushi, so we've tried many sushi places and this one hits the spot! I was craving a poke bowl and was near the place so I decided to stop in for dinner... the restaurant is very clean and the decor was very well done. The servers were kind and attentive as well. I ordered the tempura shrimp poke bowl and added seaweed salad and I also ordered a spicy salmon roll. Although they were both very tasty, they weren't "OMG! amazing". I opted for the small poke bowl and it was very hearty and well filled with appropriate dressing. The spicy salmon roll was 6 small pieces, which was enough for just me (I don't eat very much). I do wish they had more variety of dressing for the poke bowls though, as well as a wider variety on the drink menu. Our waiter (whose name I'm sorry to say I don't know) was cheerful, welcoming, knowledgeable and VERY attentive without being intrusive. He brought our Kirin Ichibans with chilled glasses. Nice touch. The food was delicious. We had sushi roll, dumplings (almost too pretty to eat), fried rice, skewers. BUT the star of the show was the lamb chops. I think they wanted to deliver all the selections at the same time but the effort resulted in the sushi being a bit warm.
