Came here with a friend for a weekday dinner. There was no wait and many open tables, so we were seated at a booth immediately. ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant felt clean, open, and comfortable. We were able to have a comfortable conversation together. There was plenty of parking in the area, as well. FOOD: I got the Spicy Miso Ramen. Overall, I thought it was good. The broth was definitely lacking flavor and complexity compared to the ramen shops I have been to in Houston proper, but I still enjoyed it. The noodles tasted great and had a good consistency to them. The meat and other mix-ins were also good. Of note they do have an option that is vegan-friendly! SERVICE: Our server was kind and attentive and checked in on us a few times. The food came out quickly. PRICE/VALUE: Standard price for ramen, and the portions were enough for one solid meal! Disclosure this review is for takeout but I'm basing it on quality of food. I ordered the spicy miso ramen and shrimp tempura. The ramen soup was so bland. The shrimp tempura came with fried veggies heavily coated in a thick fried batter. The dipping sauce is a little too sweet. Some friends from church invited my wife and me here a few days ago, and we deeply regret ever setting foot in this disaster of a restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the staff made it crystal clear we were not welcome. No greetings, no eye contact--just cold, dead stares and every single employee glued to their phones like zombies. It felt like walking into a high school cafeteria run by teenagers who hate their job and hate their customers even more. We practically had to wave our arms to get seated, and once we were, it was like we vanished. No one cared if our order was right, or even edible. The service was appallingly lazy and downright rude. Our server made us feel like an inconvenience every time we spoke. She rushed us through the menu, practically barking at us to hurry up, then disappeared for long stretches like she had better things to do. And the manager? Equally useless. She was just sitting there on her phone, pretending to take notes but doing nothing to fix the chaos around her. If this is how management behaves, it's no wonder the place runs like a sinking ship. Now the food--if you can even call it that--was the final nail in the coffin. The broth tasted like someone scooped it out of a mop bucket. It was flavorless, oily, and had a sour chemical aftertaste that lingered way too long. The wonton soup was revolting: soggy, falling apart, with a gray, unidentifiable mush inside the wrappers. I gagged after the first bite. I wouldn't feed this to a stray dog. The ramen was bland, cold, and tasted like it had been sitting in a freezer for days. Nothing was fresh, nothing was hot, and nothing had even a hint of seasoning. This was easily one of the most disgusting and miserable dining experiences we've ever had. 4 stars for the food but I had to deduct 1 star & I'll explain why towards the end of the review. The decor was nice, the inside was cozy & overall pretty clean for the most part. I decided to get the seaweed salad as an appetizer & the spicy tonkotsu ramen as the main course. I'll start with the salad, horrible presentation, plating looked rushed & sloppy but taste wise, I'll say it was textbook good. My tonkostu was solid, flavors were there in the broth & I got the numbness from the spice. The chashu pork was not tendered as how I would have liked it but everything else in the bowl was fine. Alright, now I'll explain why it's a 3 stars instead of a 4. Everyone seem overwhelmed & you can see it on their faces. My server was cleaning something that was dropped on the floor with a rag & didn't wash her hands after she was finished & then she brought the salad to me. Granted she touch the plate & not the food itself but whenever you're cleaning something especially if it's on the ground, wash your hands. Overall food was good & service was fine. Will I come back? The service is quick and convenient, and the waiters are attentive, but do not hover! When it comes to the food, I almost always get the Miya Special Ramen which is absolutely DIVINE. I usually enjoy sipping on the broth but this one didn't hit the spot. My boyfriend got the tonkotsu and I thought this was much better. The pork chasu wasn't tender but it was good. I usually like the egg but that wasn't flavorful either. The wonton was good but it didn't have much meat in it. Cannot speak of the other food but it's Chinese food.
