I've now been to Kami Ramen & Sushi about 5+ times. One of my favorite things about this place is the interior. It has a lot of cool Japanese style decorations / wall art, and they're usually showing Pokémon on tv! The inside is very pretty / appealing to me, and it had a nice chill vibe. I will take more pictures next time. The service has always been overall solid, but my fiancée and I's favorite waitress is named Jennifer I believe. She's very sweet and attentive. We made it a point to ask her name last time we went(and somehow I'm iffy if I got it right). We were being served by a waiter who honestly was kinda meh, and then Jennifer saw us and greeted us. She then went to tell him to get us water, and I then just asked her if she could tend to us instead. She's great and we will always ask for her anytime we go moving forward. Onto the main subject: the food! I've ordered multiple different items here, but I'll start with the appetizers. I've tried the Brussels sprouts tempura, which were just ok to both my wife and I. It seemed like it was plain unseasoned Brussels sprouts fried lol. We've also had the fried shrimp shumai which was solid to me, but the Mrs said it was too fishy. Ramen: I've had the tonkotsu black (pork) multiple times, the spicy shrimp ramen, the Kami Goyu (sliced NY Strip) and the spicy chicken ramen. I really like all of the broths and noodles, but I feel like the pork, chicken, steak and shrimp proteins could improve. The pork seems really fatty / chewy but not in the way I'm used to. My wife doesn't care for it either. The chicken is like a thinly sliced chicken breast and seemed like it was cooked separately then dumped into the broth last second. The Mrs says it reminds her of a plain Costco chicken. I still ate this more the the pork, and pork is my usual go to. The shrimp was ok to me, and I'm not really sure how I'd describe it but I ate it all. I don't think I'd order the Kami Goyu again as I did not care for the steak, but I did eat it since I don't like wasting food. I think the spicy chicken ramen may be my favorite overall. My absolute favorite thing here though, is the Akuma roll. All I can say is I love it, and I'll be ordering it everytime I go. It is a raw sushi roll. All in all, I know we'll be back! Hidden sushi gem in Humble. Not many higher end places to eat around here but this one will do. They have an extensive menu but you can't read shit on it cuz it's small and blurry. Just go with the Humble roll, octopus balls app, and pork bun. You won't regret. It was all delicious. The service was really good. Plenty of space inside although the parking may suck. Japanese anime decor and pop music playing added to their ramen/sushi vibe. Like I said, not too many viable options in the area, you'll just have to check them out. read more

the ambiance is very special, its very anime themed on the inside. lots of time was put in the decorations of this restaurant and it's very popular culture like. the staff is always friendly when i come by. i come here for appetizers and sushi. i get their two sushi roll deal usually. i've tried a few and i can say this is solid sushi. i've recently gone to other restaurants that are new to me and find myself comparing them and their takoyaki to this one and feeling disastisfied because it's not as good as kami's. so this for me is a solid place to go to for some good appetizers and sushi. read more

Great ramen place in the area! Didn't have to wait to be seated and the decor was cute. I love edamame but the spicy garlic just did not hit. Best Ramen I've had in Humble thus far. Been here at least a handful of time, just never posted til now. I say it's always better to dine in for better service. Some days are better than other days doing carryout on the portion. But overall, the flavor, the fullness and the variety of Ramen options, Kami has you covered. This time I had the Spicy Shrimp Ramen. Shrimp was less this time. But my normal is the Spicy Tan Tan Lobster, and I add New York Strip slices and shrimp. You can make your Ramen anyway you choose. Went here on a whim and really enjoyed it! The service was good and we were checked up on if we ever needed anything else. I got the Kami Goyu Ramen and it was great, the only thing would be that the new york strips were a bit too chewy. They didn't ask how I would like them cooked, but next time I'll advise them on it. The broth itself wasn't too spicy, but luckily they had a tin with chili oil at each table. There's only booths available for seating, but that's fine. Not too crowded and they had SpongeBob episodes playing when I went. My friend ordered a egg roll and they said it was a bit salty in their opinion. Would definitely revisit again. read more

This is probably one of my first times trying ramen that wasn't from a package but I can definitely see the ramen hype after trying it! I kept it simple as a first-timer and just got a kids chicken ramen that came with green onions, chicken and spinach. The broth seriously makes the dish, it was delicious! It tasted like garlic, sesame oil, soy and other unique flavors it was just good and didn't need anything added unless you like spice which they had a chili oil for that. The chicken was kind of dry and bland so I could've went without that. Also, I liked the noodles but I do think they slightly overcooked mine as they were a bit stick. I loved how they packaged the ramen toppings and noodles on a tray sitting above the broth. I was worried that they would've put everything together but that wasn't the case! With my kids meal I also ordered an Egg Roll and it was just okay. I could be wrong but I don't think it's homemade. I've tasted this exact same Egg Roll at other establishments so more than likely it's frozen but it's not bad. It came with a tasty dipping sauce! Found a new ramen spot by my place. The place is beautifully decorated & they were playing anime on the TV screen. I was sat immediately(came around 1230). The server approached my table very quickly so there wasn't a wait to be taken care of. I ordered the spicy creamy vegan and it was!! Full of various flavors, tofu, green veggies, & the coconut creamy base made it the perfect blend. I did have it as a soup(without the ramen) because they only serve wheat noodles, no gluten free option, but it was still very much worth it. I'm glad they could accommodate me. I find Kami Ramen & Sushi really affordable and service is pleasantly quick. Stepping inside you'll find the restaurant is decorated with the cutest Japanese set up. The menu is extensive but easy to navigate. The double/triple roll special is a really good deal if you plan on ordering a lot of speciality rolls. My partner and I shared a Spicy Salmon Roll, Shaggy Dog Roll, Tonkatsu Black Ramen, Kami Pork Bun for under $40 and we were content with the food. I personally wouldn't order the ramen again simply because Houston has spoiled me with better ramen selection. Everything was great! The food was great, waiter was attentive. The only thing we are slightly disappointed was the portion sizes. They are BIG! We both got poke bowls and they were huge. We hadn't eaten all day and couldn't finish it, hated wasting it cause we couldn't take it with us as we still had a bunch of errands to run and couldn't see leaving raw fish in the car. Kami Ramen & Sushi was the most unexpected, delicious find we could have stumbled upon near George Bush Intercontinental airport. Literally this place gave us life after a very hectic, long travel day back home. First off, service was outstanding. I didn't catch our waitress' name, but she literally knew exactly what we needed before we ever asked for it. She basically read our minds the entire dinner. The ambiance has simple sushi/ramen restaurant vibes, nothing to complain about here. The food though... Completely unexpected as to how good it was. Tbh we were expecting mediocre Asian food in the Humble area, but their food was legit really good. We had their spicy tonkatsu ramen, TNT roll, Akuma roll, and Red Dragon roll. We added fresh garlic, extra pork chashu, extra egg, and extra noodles to the ramen as well. This was a ton of food! We were starving from a 12hr travel day, and even then we couldn't finish all this food. The sushi was fresh, and the ramen broth literally warms you from your soul. 10/10 would recommend when you're near the airport! I was down 1960 East in the Humblewood shopping center and grandson wanted sushi. We went to Kami for lunch. We were promptly seated and attended to by a nice waitress. Lots of sushi and ramen on the menu, along with fried rice, noodles, appetizers, and beverages. Being hungry is my poor excuse for getting a late start on the pics. The second pic has some of grandson's Shaggy Dog roll in the background and one of the Jalapeno Bombs in front. There were 8 of each to start with. Some of the bombs were jalapeño hot and some were not but they were all tasty. The first pic is my Spicy Chicken Garlic Ramen. I didn't take the pic until I eat in half of the chicken one side of the bowl with lined with big slices of chicken. I definitely got my money's worth on the chicken and the garlic. A very flavorful broth. And you can watch your favorite Japanese cartoons while you slurp. read more

We have lived out in Porter for going on 3 years now and finally visited Kami Ramen & Sushi by accident. We were going to a different place to eat in the parking lot and my lady said " I've been wanting Sushi for a couple of weeks" so I said "It Better be good."
