I used Pro Flowers to send a bereavement bouquet to a close friend in NC. I believe PF contracted Gingerbread House to complete the order as I wanted it delivered ASAP. The bouquet arrived and my friend loved it. It's absolutely beautiful. Only thing that I didn't like is the pink printer paper they used to showcase their business name and contact along with the message I sent over. The flowers were delivered to an angry woman who thought her husband was having an affair and destroyed in the argument. I placed an order for Mother's Day and was very disappointed. The actual arrangement delivered to my mom had roughly half of the flowers that they represented on the website picture, with a ton of filler greenery instead. This was overt deceptive marketing. Also note that when you shop their flowers it will divert you to Telefora and the premium option is the default; you must manually change it to standard to see what the standard base option looks like. When I brought this to the owner's attention I originally was offered a choice between a refund of my $25 in fees (this was a $125 arrangement plus $25 in fees) or an option for them literally to come bother my mom and pick up the already-delivered flowers, take them back to the shop to add more flowers, and then bring them back! When I wrote back that I would prefer they offer a more substantial refund to make what was delivered more in line with an appropriate price point but would do the other option if not, they then ignored me, meanwhile leaving my mom waiting to hear about the details. Update: following this review I was provided a full refund. read more

I ordered a small arrangement for a funeral requesting that small less expensive flowers be substituted on an arrangement on their web site and that it be arranged to look a little larger. So not only did I order last minute before boarding a plane, called back to explain we had a 2 hour delay on the runway and I would be close to missing their closing time but the owner took the initiative to leave my flowers with the store next door after she had to close for a family event. My husband had surgery and couldn't leave the house so for my birthday he sent me a dozen long stem roses. Within three days most were already dead. I sent a message to the florist and didn't get a response. I then wrote a review on their website to let them know that not only did my husband spend $100 on their roses, but my son purchased a dozen roses from Harris Teeter for around $20. My Harris Teeter roses lasted over a week. Not only did they not respond but they deleted my review. I ordered flowers for Valentine's Day to be delivered and they was late and when they was delivered they were dead. I called the store and they said they had a problem, but all the orders was redone. I told her that the flowers was dead and the owner had an attitude. I was upset they went to my girlfriends work and looked like that. So I was very unhappy. She got off work and took them by there they did make it right and she apologized to her and said she was sorry about getting attitude with me. I consider this to be my neighborhood florist and have used them for years. Last weekend, I had a horrible experience picking up a boutonnière for prom. After waiting in line for about 15 minutes, I was next in line. The owner/former owner asked me if I had a ticket. I told her I did not, and she snidely told me that she had to take care of those who had a ticket first. Even the lady that she waited on instead of me felt uncomfortable and said to me she should have helped me first. I was floored. I had placed an order in advance, and after waiting in line for she changed the rules and suddenly had to help someone in line behind me? If I didn't need it that day I would have gone somewhere else. I refuse to go there again, and this weekend I needed another boutonnière and chose Davenports at 5 Points. Hate to go out of my way, but no way will I allow someone to treat me differently based on her own biases. read more

When the corsage that I had ordered for my son's prom date from a local grocery looked tacky and cheap - I immediately headed to Gingerbread House. They were SO helpful! Even though they were busy with all the prom pick ups (just a few hours before prom), they took the time to work with me and designed a beautiful wristlet corsage that was exactly what I was looking for (even took the time to look at a picture of the dress to ensure it would coordinate). Next time I am ordering directly from Gingerbread house. All of the corsages and boutonnieres being picked up on prom day were beautiful and they ensured all the customers were happy with their orders.
