Anna, the owner, is warm, kind, thoughtful, has incredible style, and has created an amazing line of natural products that actually work (and smell wonderful). But if you only stop by to pick up some serums and sprays, or a beautiful jade comb, you will be missing out on the INCREDIBLE treatments. If you have a treatment at GingerChi, Rose, the Gua Sha Queen, will truly transport you to a place of peace, enjoyment, alignment, and utter self-care. You'll walk out energized and glowing. My particular favorites (so far) are the 90-minute Gua Sha head/neck/shoulders/face treatment and the Gua Sha facial (the rice bran mask....omg). I carry a ton of work stress (like all of us these days) and have bad neck issues, and Gua Sha at GingerChi is one of the few things that actually gets rid of the knots. Like Anna, Rose is warm, wonderful, and caring. Understand that this is a small storefront with usually only one therapist, which is incredible as you get complete peace and focus. It's in Two Bridges, so if that's not your usual stomping ground, there's lots of good food, art, and fun to be had before or after your visit. I used to live in Shanghai and I got gua sha done quite a bit but have never found anything in the States that compared until Anna. I found GingerChi's Heaven & Earth Gua Sha facial through a Google search for "best facials in NYC" and it absolutely did not disappoint! Anna welcomed me into the space with such warmth and kindness. We immediately connected over great conversations. She explained the procedure every step of the way and my face was truly transformed afterwards. We didn't think of doing before/after photos, but an hour and a half with Anna definitely made a huge difference to my face. I felt like a work of art! Or a sculpture even. :) The products used during the facial smelled great and worked wonders--to the point where my skin does not work with other products since (especially those that have harsh or toxic ingredients.) I'm also more aware of how my skin reacts to different products now. I bought a beautiful jade gua sha right after, as well as the oil cleanser. I received a gift bag with samples of all the products used during the procedure and have been using them to the last drop. GingerChi is amazing! I was visiting NY and booked an appointment for the Tui-Nah Full Body Acupressure Massage. It was one of the best massages I've had. Rose made sure to check the pressure and ask about any focus areas. The full hour was so relaxing and I did not want it to end. My body felt completely relaxed and rid of stress/knots. The two women at the front were also so friendly and welcoming. They offered tea and water and asked me about my trip. I'm sure you've guys heard of "gua sha" before, lately it's been all the rage for beauty and skin care fanatics. Gua sha though is a tool that dates back to Chinese medicine practices. It was used to promote circulation, light to your face, and etc. Anyways, I've tried many facial places in NYC. I have tried every place imaginable. I decided to try GingerChi because they use gua sha in their practice. The space was very clean and smelled very good. I did the $190 deal. In addition to using gua sha there was a hot/cold stone used, massage, head massage, different serums and oils, and etc. At end of my session she gave me a little goodie bag to try wish I thought was a nice touch. I got the purifying facial and the belly away gua sha treatment. Both were amazing. my face looks so much healthier, even colored and hydrated. I have gotten a fair share of facials in the city and their gua sha technique is definitely one of a kind. The belly away treatment was so unique, I have never gotten anything like it before. I went to Ginger Chi for a facial. It is hands down the best facial I have ever received (and I've visited Heyday, Rescue Spa, etc.). The owner, Anna, and Nicole, the esthetician, were both incredible. They took safety precautions very seriously and made sure I was comfortable. During the facial, they walked me through every product they used and did painless extractions. The facial include massage, too. GingerChi has so many wonderful products but during the pandemic my favorite has become the Ginger Citrus Sanitizer. I keep it on my sink for times I need to skip the 20+ second hand washes.
