Sian gets 5 stars for her help. I got a call the next day form the foster parent and I picked up the dog the day after that. I only took 2 days to get the paperwork and (meet and greet) with the dog. I tried calling to ask a few questions about a dog my wife and I were interested in offering a home to, but the woman who picked up (sorry, can't recall her name--Welsh or Scottish accent, I believe), was very rude, condescending, and snobby. I wanted to find out what the meet-and-greet policy was before adopting and was also hoping to find out about fostering, though the conversation never got that far as I got frustrated over her not listening to my questions or to allowing me to finish asking them before talking over me. I am someone who has spent lots of time training shelter dogs as a volunteer and I don't need her telling me some BS about a meet-and-greet causing too much stress on the dogs! I tried to tell her that my dog, who I want to get a playmate for, is a bit dog selective, and she decided (didn't listen) that I was saying he is dog REACTIVE, and told me in a dismissive tone that he should be an only dog as though she knows him better than I do! I tried to correct her but she just talked over me in her snotty tone of voice. Glad others have had a better experience here, though I'm convinced that whoever I talked to is there to encourage us to go to breeders instead. read more

I adopted lovely dog I named Buddy (his name Arrow Bear while at foster home). Buddy was very loving and my constant companion for 18 months before he succumbed to complications of diseased Thyroid gland we just could not find the meds to fix it. Ginger has lots of great options for dogs! We spent several months looking for the right one, going every weekend. It turns out I'm pretty picky, but my fiance falls in love with most every dog, haha. We really wanted to adopt a rescue versus going to a breeder and it took us a little while to find a good one, but we're glad we waited! The dog we adopted, who we named Albus, was actually adopted the day before I got him. I was at the adoption place to see him before they opened, but there were several people who wanted him. Another couple got priority and had brought another dog to see if they were compatible. They were.. until they took the dogs home and at home they weren't. The next day I got a call from Ginger asking if I still wanted this dog and of course I did! I showed up the next morning to meet the dog in person. My fiance didn't want to come since I was checking out dogs myself to see if I liked them first before having her come by. Ginger was really pushy with trying to close the deal. I agree with the used car salesman closing techniques, saying how this dog was perfect for me, putting congratulatory wrist bands on me, and all this stuff when I wanted to get more time to get familiar with the dog. It was a bit of a tough situation I suppose and I didn't want Ginger to have to wait for my fiance to arrive (about an hour through traffic) and so I decided to take the dog home since I really liked him. Ginger does have a great policy about returning dogs within a week if you don't like him and so I took advantage of it. Luckily the dog turned out to be amazing and I'm super happy with our new doggie. He's super cuddly, loves to lounge around with us, is really friendly, and is an awesome part of our family. The volunteers at the adoption events are really nice, friendly, and helpful. I got to know many of them, having gone to several of the events. I'm not a huge fan of the push to get you to adopt the dog (I saw this on numerous occasions while I was there... "This dog is perfect for you! You're going to adopt this dog!"), but I am glad that they bring in so many dogs that would otherwise be put to sleep. The purchase prices are a bit high and I understand she has to cover her vet fees and debts (I'm happy to have been able to help her with that). There are so many red flags with this "rescue" place. Two recent reviews hit it on the nail with they're extreme prices, possibility of not even rescuing dogs due to the same descriptions of each dog, and my family in Korea have stated only two dogs per one person are allowed to leave the country - and she did some digging and could not find the sister company/affiliate over in Korea. That being said, I really really wanted to give this company a chance. I did fall for the story of a puppy being sold into a meat farm and was being rescued. I wanted to adopt a certain dog right away, so I emailed the company through their website saying I was interested in THIS SPECIFIC DOG. I got an email back saying "they won't be here for a while but come to our adoption event" so I thought, yeah sure I can stop by just to show that I'm very interested in this one dog that isn't here yet. I got to the adoption event and it was SO UNORGANIZED! Almost all the crates with dogs in them had soiled pee pads in the crates with the dogs inside, they all looked traumatized, and I honestly wanted to just get out of there, but a volunteer stopped me as I was leaving and said jokingly "you can't leave without a dog!" And I said how "we emailed someone about a specific dog online and we just looked around, we didn't find one here today that connected with us so we're just going to wait for THAT specific dog to get here and if it wasn't meant to be then it wasn't meant to be". He said "OH HERES THE WOMAN WHO WORKS IN KOREA AND KNOWS ALL THE DOGS AND THE ONE YOURE TALKING ABOUT" and pushes us to her. She then goes on about "that specific dog might not even come over here now" and me and my partner are just like... well then why is this dog on your website...? Did he actually get turned into meat? Was he someone else's dog? What the heck happened? Anyways, she forces us to look at "similar" dogs at the event, and kept saying how "we can't wait for that dog, we should adopt one there today". We walked around again, interacted with everyone and we didn't get any dog that "picked us" so we had to physically sneak out of the adoption party because the lady kept stalking us by each dog saying "WELL THIS ONE IS JUST LIKE THE ONE YOU WANT ONLINE". We finally got out, I emailed the website again stating "we went to the adoption event, we didn't catch a spark with anyone, can you please tell us when "insert dogs name here" is in America because we will adopt immediately". I GOT THE SAME EMAIL SAYING "COME TO OUR ADOPTION EVENT NEXT WEEKEND INSTEAD" and didn't answer anything about the dog I WAS INTERESTED IN!!! I'm so angry with this "rescue" place. It felt like I was and am being scammed. Where is this dog that's listed on your website? Why won't you answer my questions? Why are you PUSHING ME to adopt one that didn't fit with us? With so much craziness in the world we live in, we felt it was time for our family to grow and could not feel more grateful to Ginger, Cheryl and the beautiful team at Ginger's Pet rescue! They were incredibly thorough about what kind of home our dog Levi would be coming into, and had very detailed questions about the life we'd be providing him with (which I really appreciated, meaning these dogs have been through so much trauma already) and went out of their way to make themselves available to answer any questions we had about Levi and ensuring he felt right at home! They have a very detailed tracking system so you know when you can anticipate the dog to arrive and followed up multiple times to see how the transition was going between Levi and ourselves. One thing I also wanted to share is that many of these dogs (our Levi included) are at Kill shelters - some of which are killed at the same location. The reason I share this is that Ginger's pet rescue does whatever physically possible to rescue these dogs - I did not know the depth of this unless I had asked. The team here is so incredibly compassionate, and humble but this is truly god's work! The love they pour into each every dog is undeniable. If you have any hesitation as to if this is the rescue company you should utilize, please put your mind at ease! Super Shady. I'm Korean and have a friend in Korea who works as a volunteer at a small rescue. I saw some Jindo's on this website and thought, oh they are legit! But then I saw some small-designer breeds I was like hmm... then I saw a Dalmatian. Do you know how rare(unpopular) Dalmatian is in Korea? Like, I am pretty sure there is like under 50 of them. Friend of mine had to buy one from US couple of years ago and got bc there was no breeder in Korea. Most people in Korea live in apartment and thus any dog bigger than corgi is not popular. I'm not making an accusation that all of these pups from Korea isn't from Korea. But most of rescued dogs who get to be shipped to US from Korea are 1.large size 2.mixed. Also most of meat market in Korea are gone/dead.. puppy mills/ abandon dogs from irresponsible owners are way bigger issue right now than meat market. So idk how every dog saved from Korea on their website is all saved from becoming "meat". I'd make sure if you can get a contact information of the rescue in Korea who shipped the particular dog before you adopt one. Most of the rescue wants to keep in touch or at least would love to get a photo of the dog they saved and shipped overseas. It takes a lot of time & money & efforts for them to send a pup to overseas and someone in the rescue WILL remember the dog and can give a photo/background of the dog to you. If you have a passion of adopting an animal from Korea/other countries, you can easily find a rescue on social media who does it, and you usually have to wait a month or so but you can adopt one and will be able to pick them up from airport. read more

Super shady. 1) Saw their set up at a local grocery store complex - each dog had an "adoption fee" of AT LEAST $1,500. Im sorry, WHAT?! $75-200 is reasonable. $1,500 is insane. 2) Each dog has the same story - "I was rescued from Korea, my mom was not lucky and got sent to the dog market, I was gonna be made into soju elixir." Umm, okay. At least vary it up with each dog ...?... 3) Most of the dogs are puppies under a year old and are more designer breeds like poodles, Jindos, etc. If you look at the King County animal shelter, most dogs are older and rarely will you find designer breeds. I decided I needed to write a new review. I think what Ginger does is amazing...yes, adopting from her is not dirt cheap, though much less expensive than buying a dog from a breeder, but she must incur a lot of expenses in driving the dogs a thousand miles or more and getting them veterinary care when they arrive. The legwork you have to do to adopt a dog is so so so so worth it when you can take in a dog who needs love and watch them flourish and lead happy lives. Seem to have lots of desirable dogs that they charge prices for that are comparable to breeders. Like a lot of other people on here, I would recommend you look for a dog elsewhere. Responsible breeders are better then these people in terms of actually caring that you meet a puppy before requiring a deposit. BEWARE. For various reasons I didn't end up getting a dog from them. This was my first time adopting a dog, and I have a resident purebred dog that is one year old that was a big factor in our decision making. Long story short we ended up with the perfect fit for our home. Like all rescue's this organization is volunteer run. Be patient with the volunteers, and with Ginger. They have a lot going on. know that their intentions are to save dogs lives. WHAT I LEARNED FROM MY FIRST ADOPTION EVENT: 1. Simply ask a volunteer to get a dog out of it's pen, so you can interact with it. 2. Walk the dog a little ways away from the event to interact with it in a quite grassy spot. And, if you have a resident dog walk them in this area together. 3. Plan to spend 1 to 3 hours at the event. Take your time with each potential dog. 4. Make sure to find out what volunteer is currently fostering the dog you are interested in. They have a lot of juicy details to share, and I found them to be very honest about any issues the dog has displayed while in their care. 5. Before you go to the event decide what temperament you are looking for in a dog, and what issues you are willing to handle. Then don't get suckered into a cute face! Talk to the foster's and find the dog with the right temperament and issues for your home. I didn't find a dog my first time at an event. It's ok! Go back and try again. WHAT I LEARNED FROM MY SECOND EVENT: 1. I felt more comfortable the second time, and my resident dog did too. Some volunteers recognized me, and felt like I knew how the event operated. 2. I spent even more time at my second event meeting each dog that fit my profile, and taking them on their walk away from the event. I invested 30 minutes at least with each dog. I had to check my guilt and fear about handing a dog back, so I could meet another dog. I was afraid one I liked would get scooped up, or I felt guilty because they are all in need. BUT, meet all the dogs that fit your profile and give them all a chance. 3. It was even more clear to me that you cannot determine if a dog is right for you in one hour, but you can get a sense. 4. BRING YOUR RESIDENT DOG, and TALK TO THE FOSTERS they are invaluable. 5. Make your vet apt the day you get the dog, as sometimes there is wait to be seen. During the "trial week" offered by Gingers we were able to see Bennie was the right dog for us and our resident dog. We took him to the vet and confirmed he had no obvious issues. Ginger's allows you to return a dog within 7 days if it doesn't work out. Based on the clean bill of health, and the trail days we gladly adopted. During the week trial we received a "check-in email" from Ginger to see how it was going, and a phone call from a volunteer who checked in, and let us know more about the final steps of transferring the microchip to our name. Great follow up. Please don't rush the process. Take your time. Go to multiple events, so you feel comfortable with the process. I spoke with one person from "ARK" Animal rescue Korea and she said her and her partner brought 20 that week back. 2 dogs per person max is Korean requirement. Looked up ARK rescue in any form and there is no affiliation with Seattle nor Korea. Nothing seems to fit with their story Buyer beware. Cause you are buying not rescuing here. read more

What can I say about Ginger's Pet Rescue? It is the best rescue in Washington state. The volunteers and foster parents go out of their way to look after the dogs and make sure they get the right home for them. Sometimes you foster a dog that has been abused or abandoned, and to see their happy faces and their wagging tails once they get their forever home makes it all worth it. Once they are fixed and have all their shots and microchipping done, they come to one of the foster homes that get them ready for their forever home. All the vetting is done for each dog, transportation is arranged for dogs coming from out of our area and the process begins. The transition from a shy or scared dog starts with the love and care from his or her foster parent. The dedication the fosters have is amazing. My husband and I foster for this rescue and it is so rewarding. I think the Adoption fees are quite fair as a lot goes into these dogs before adoption. There are medical issues with some of them, and this Rescue helps with medical problems such as Cherry Eye, Hernias, injuries, more serious issues and much much more. The transportation costs can be high for dogs coming from Korea and Taiwan so that is taken into consideration on the Adoption fees too. Dogs coming from Korea are saved from the meat market industry so they have a second chance at a full life with a loving family. A portion of the medical bills goes to Greenwood Veterinary clinic in Seattle. A part of this adoption fee will also help us build our brand new 2 acre sanctuary. We had a great experience! We adopted our first dog ever, a 2 year old female corgi, Sian and Ginger kept in communication from when we submitted our application to a week after bringing Lily home. The vaccine records were provided when we picked Lily up and she was in great health, happy, and very well behaved when brought her home. People are skeptical about whether the dogs come from other countries but her records are in Korean with English translation and they've been verified by our vet in Ballard. Sian is really friendly and easy to get in touch with for questions. I think the adoption fee was fair considering Lily came from Korea and she's a corgi which is already a more costly dog. We adopted a sweet dog but was never told she was high energy, needed training in everything. We think most of it was due to her being 9 mos old, which we understand, but we and our friends & neighbors believed her to have a herding gene in her. Long story short, we ended up returning her after trying for 2 1/2 mos. Spent an enormous ant of money purchasing her and another $500+ after getting her because of trainers, daycare, vet and insurance. The lady we dealt with was curt and rude. I applied to be a foster in March 2021 and did not hear back for 2-3+ weeks. Then I emailed them in April 2021 to follow up on the status of my application. I thought maybe no dogs need a foster which makes no sense because nearly every dog on their website is asking for a foster. In April 2021, Sian said she did not get my application. I did not hear from Sian after I re-sent my application in April 2021. So I sent one in August 2021 and this is the message I got: We did not receive your application ?  Thank you for wanting to support our rescue please resend your application we will keep it on file until needed  Kind regards please send your phone number  Sian I don't understand this because if Ginger's Pet Rescue DID NOT get my application then my email would have bounced back. I was curious about a dog I had seen on Petfinder up for adoption through GPR, and emailed asking for more information (such as her history, size, personality, vaccination history, more photos, etc) as there was not much about her available publicly and I was very interested in her. I got a very short and immediate response from Ginger, that just said "she is a very scared and shy dog" or something along those lines, nothing else. About an hour later I got another email from her advertising an adoption event. Based on this experience alone, I would not recommend adopting through Ginger's Pet Rescue. Communication on their end lacks severely, and needs to improve especially considering most dogs have very high ($1k+) adoption fees. I am sure they're doing good work and I feel bad writing this review but things need to change. read more

I discovered Ginger's Pet Rescue when they did a pop-up adoption at Anthropologie in the U district. They had tons of volunteers who were incredibly helpful and professional and all of the dogs seemed very well taken care of and happy. I found my dog that day and adopted on the spot. I had been looking for the right dog for about two months and was so happy to have found my dog through Ginger's Pet Rescue. Their team was very helpful with the whole process and offered me guidance over the next two weeks to make sure my dog was a good fit for me and I for it. My dog came spayed and with all of the appropriate vaccinations. They also offer to help cover any surprise medical expenses in the first two weeks (outside of dental). I took my dog to the vet the same week I got her and everything checked out perfectly. The adoption fee is also tax-deductible and they provide all of the proper paperwork to make this easy for you. They also provided all of the medical records and they did it in a very organized way that made my new vet incredibly happy! The medical records were all from a vet in Mexico - proving my dog really did come from where GPR claimed. Ginger's Pet Rescue cares very much for their animals and cares about making the right fit for you. I also am highly grateful for the work that they do with saving animals who are very much in need of good homes. My dog came from Mexico and has loved her transition to the PNW. She is wonderful - was easy to potty train and learned "sit", "stay", "no" and her name in about two weeks. She also is very friendly towards people of all ages - a total social butterfly - and loves to play with other dogs. She has not shown any signs of aggression or fear or anxiety. I'm very grateful for the time they devote to this deserving cause-- including time spent patiently fielding several questions from me. Because Katsu is half Formosan/Taiwanese mountain dog, we were required to sign up for a mandatory training session with a specialist. The fee is $60 I believe, which I find reasonable (considering the trainer will travel and conduct the lesson at our house). My experience with Ginger's is in inline with the other 5 star reviews. We searched and found a few dogs on Ginger's website we thought would be a good fit with our family and then visited one of her adoption events at Walker's' Subaru last October. She had so many wonderful volunteers there to help out. Very helpful and dedicated people. We met a few of the dogs we were interested in and had a chance to speak with their foster families and learn about the dog's behaviors and how they were adjusting. That was really great as many times you don't get that level of insight before you adopt. We also really liked the fact that we could take him home and have 7 days to have him checked out by a Vet and decide if we were a fit for each other. We chose the dog formerly knows as "Adisak" He is from Thailand and is now named "Luke". He has been totally awesome and is now a big part of the family. He came well behaved and potty trained. He has been a total joy. There was also great follow up after adoption with emails from the foster family checking in on Luke and several calls from Ginger's folks just checking in to see how he was doing and if we need any help with training or getting him adjusted to our family. I recommend Ginger's to anyone considering adopting a pet. It is a good organization and they do have the best interests of these pets in mind. My 9 y/o daughter has been begging me for a dog for about a year now. She found a cute dog on Ginger's Pet Rescue website that she was interested in, so I emailed Ginger to inquire about the availability and visiting the dog. I never received a response. Then about a week later I submitted an adoption application for the dog to Ginger's email again and within a few hours, the dog's profile was gone from the website. My daughter was crushed. Wanted to know more about a special needs dog in which I felt very compassionate in adopting into my home. Right now I own a few real estate companies and home property's but the employee who I spoke with over the phone was very unprofessional. I asked Siana about the puppy's special needs and what care was needed but she gave very vague answers and was more focused on what property I lived in. She didn't really know how to explain what the dog needed or what proper care was needed for the poor pup. She called me again but I hung up as I don't have time to waste talking to her. I didn't fill out the application as I needed to know what the dogs special need was first and she was not very informative or helpful. I didn't bother filling out the application because I had little to no information talking with her. Siana gives Ginger pet rescue a bad name. read more

I've worked w/ a lot of rescues over the years and Ginger's Pet Rescue was very professional in all my interactions w/ them. I found them through a pet adoption website where I liked a dog that turned out to be posted by Ginger's. After turning in my application I was contacted by one of their volunteer adoption counselors. Everything went smoothly and they ended up choosing me for the dog. The dog was transported by a large pet rescue transit company from LA to Seattle. Yes there were some uncertainties about the dog's behavior and the transport was expensive (things other people complain about in negative reviews) but sometimes that's just how it is when a dog needs rescuing. My dog does have some special need, and the adoption counselor was VERY clear about that and allowed me to make an informed decision. I'm happy with my dog, the rescue was easy to work with, and I would adopt from them again. read more

I have adopted 2 puppies from Ginger's pet rescue since 2022. I found them through 2 other friends who have adopted pets from them. I adopted my first one at an adoption event in Renton. Adoption process was easy, we filled out an application, got interviewed by Sian and took the pup home (kennel, harness and non-retractable leash required). Sian checked up on our pup by phone call twice and texts after the adoption, she gave us lots of tips with our first dog. It was easy to tell they really care about their work and the pups. We would send photo updates to her as well since I'm sure they would love to see the pups living their best life. I found my second dog through their youtube reels, he wasn't posted yet, but my husband I knew he would be a great addition. Sian was once again very responsive when we reached out by phone. We gave a deposit through the phone, and picked up the pup after his flight from Korea. Each time we reached out she has been very responsive, gave us clear instructions and directions. Everything went smoothly. Both of our dogs were adopted at 5 months. They're korean jindos, 1 is shiba inu mix. We've learned a lot about korean jindos, their personalities and traits and now we're a fan! They're super smart, loving, and easy to train. I know some people are upset about communication and lack of response, but I personally haven't had that experience. I would also like to add that this is a volunteers ran place. People are doing this with their free time out of the kindness of their hearts, and love for the dogs. Give them some grace as they are very busy. read more

We were able to adopt our boy Boris quickly. Ginger emailed promptly and answered all of my questions. So happy he was saved from the hell of the Korean dog meat industry. I think some of these not so nice reviews I have read about her are people who have unrealistic expectations. My boyfriend and I just adopted our first puppy on Saturday from Ginger's adoption event at Sierra Fish and Pets in Renton. Our new member of our family was a rescue from Taiwan, and I must say has already stolen our hearts. We absolutely adore him! We had such a great experience with the volunteers and rescue team! Everyone was extremely friendly and so passionate about saving the lives of these dogs. I really wish we caught the name of the woman that was helping us. She was nothing short of amazing. My boyfriend had an eye on the pup named "Grayson" and not only did she take him out of his kennel, but she let us hold him, walk him around the store, and gave us tips on how to ease him into getting to know us. Without her help and care we would've never known what a great personality this puppy has! Jennifer who looked over our application was pretty wonderful as well. She was very thorough in making sure that Grayson was going to a good home and would be taken care of. She had all of his paperwork from Taiwan and an updated vaccination record for him along with a pamphlet that covered the basics for us. She even left us her number in case we had any questions later on. We couldn't be any happier with our adoption experience and applaud the whole team at Ginger's Pet Rescue! The website says the dogs are $450-$900, yet Ginger requested I pay crazy amount of money over $2000. It cost $400~500 to bring a dog from korea to usa and it's crazy for her to charge this type of *adoption fee*. Because, all the dogs are required to get vaccines and everything prior to being sent off. I've read another review, where this place *faked* giving vaccines and microchips to their dog and charging people. Ginger is the Carole Baskin of dogs. Avoid this place at all cost. read more

Let me start by saying I think what Ginger's Pet Rescue and its volunteers do for these dogs. Going to other countries and rescuing them from horrific situations, taking time out of their weekends to help get these dog adopted, taking the dogs home at night while they await a foster home or an adopter... It's wonderful and commendable, and it's why I'm giving them 4 stars. That said, I think that if they are going to have the volunteers do things like microchip these dogs, it's important that they learn how to do it properly. More on that later, though. We happened upon an adoption event and met "Ben" (now Earl), a dog rescued from Korea. We were immediately drawn to him and went back to visit him three times before I finally inquired about fostering him (we have other pets at home and couldn't take the "adoption plunge" without knowing how he'd do here). Ginger responded almost immediately saying we could foster Ben, so we went back and picked him up. He was matted to skin, so he couldn't get microchipped before we left. She said we could foster him for the week and after a week if it didn't work out, we could return him at the next adoption event. Anyway, the dog is a joy. Especially coming from the terrible situation he was in... you'd never know. He is sweet, easily trainable, and gets along great with our other dog. We absolutely adore him. That's all attributed to the good nature of dogs and this dog in particular, but I'm grateful that GPR was able to introduce him into our lives. I'm very thankful that we had the opportunity to give him a "test run" in our house to see if he meshed well with our lifestyle. Ginger is very good at corresponding via email and answering any questions, and Patti was also really helpful via email (though I don't think I ever ended up meeting her.) We did a lot for "Ben" during the week we were fostering, and she was open to taking it off his adoption fee at the end, which was nice. When we brought him to the event to return their crate, pay his adoption fee, and get him a microchip, things did not go so well. I have to say Ginger is lovely, and there was a volunteer named Dawn that was very helpful. However, the woman who claimed she could microchip "Ben" had no idea how to hold the dog, the skin, or the syringe. Watching her attempt was extremely upsetting. After two attempts (two bleeding holes in his neck and no microchip) I had them stop. Then the male volunteer who was "helping her (by wrapping a shirt around the dog's head and doing absolutely nothing else to restrain him) then said "Oh, he should go to the vet to get this done; they can sedate him." This is a 26lb dog with a ton of extra skin on his neck who flinched a bit when a needle was shoved in his neck. This is not a dog that needs to be "sedated" for something like this... I was standing there the whole time. This was not the dog's fault. This was human error. I know how to chip a dog and would have done it myself but I wrongfully assumed that they knew what they were doing. I would suggest if they give you the option to have your new buddy microchipped at the vet instead of the rescue, get it done at the vet. Ginger and Dawn both apologized for the experience (and as I said were both very helpful through the whole thing), and in the end we now have Earl as a permanent member of our family. So all in all, they do deserve a 4-star review despite some bumps. Thanks for all you do to help these pups! read more

Adopted our two boys last week. Extensive application and discussion with Ginger and the foster to ensure that this was the best fit. Initially we inquired on a dog we'd seen pictures big when i explained we really wanted 2 that were bonded to be forever friends ginger suggested we meet our boys. She was right. Great fit. The fosters were awesome with meeting and spending a good amount of time to see if it was a good fit and allow us to bind. Everything we were told about the dogs checked when we went to the vet the next day to get them all taken care of. Clean bill of health updated their records with shot information and got them squared away when it comes to next steps. Today i received a call to just check on us and let us know they would be transferring the microchip info into our names. Explained the process and made sure they had the names and phone number, email and address correct. They thanked us for adopting and extended an invite to call with any questions or concerns. This was an amazing experience and we are happy to have helped these boys come to our home. I cannot say enough good things about the experience. read more

Consider all the existing negative reviews. While there appear to be many committed foster homes and volunteers, the head of this place Ginger is extremely combative and abrasive if you question any of what is going on at the rescue. I could have been turned to a foster and volunteer, but instead I was shocked by how people interested in adoption were treated and - most important - how willing they seemed to pawn dogs off on anyone who comes to an adoption event. I was looking for a dog for outdoor adventures and had event directors ardently trying to convince me of dogs that simply would not have been a good fit. I found a dog that I was interested in and was approved to adopt him as soon as he arrived, but despite following up multiple times after receiving the green light he simply disappeared from the website and I didn't receive any response to my subsequent inquiries. Instead, I was repeatedly told to come by the adoption events then practically harassed about taking a dog home THAT DAY. I was told that many of these dogs are 'exactly the same' as the one I was interested in and that I should free up a space for that dog to come over. I'm sorry to say it and wish this could not be possible, but Ginger's feels like a scam. When I asked for additional information re: where in Korea these dogs are housed prior to being shipped and how they are freed from meat farms, I received very vague and non-specific responses. I wasn't able to find any proof that they are indeed coming from outside of the country. A Korean friend of mine looked at the site and actually laughed, she said there is no way some of these breeds would even exist in Korea, let alone in the meat industry. I did some more digging and found the owner's name affiliated with an animal abuse case in Montana for a rescue under a different name. WHAT?!? I see that someone else also mentioned this in a review and she responded that they were not found guilty, but - I'm sorry - any rescue that has been brought up on animal abuse charges is not something I would touch with a 10 (000000000000) -foot pole. How horrifying that someone like this could have built a situation where she is in charge of so many innocent lives. After interacting with this rescue several times and digging into the details when things just didn't seem right, I would highly recommend that people considering adoption do their research on this place. This is clearly a 'adopt as many dogs as possible and collect $1000 - $2000' kind of place. If they cared about dogs they would put more emphasis on matching dogs to homes that are a good fit (I could have walked out with a dog same day without even showing ID?!?) and less on collecting $1k+ checks for puppies that appear to be poorly cared for. I ended up with a pup from Seattle Humane and feel very confident that I have supported a good cause. Saving Great Animals was another rescue I reached out to, but they were quick to let me know that the dog I was interested in probably wouldn't be a good match for my situation (imagine that...) read more

My Fiancé and I adopted Rue (used to be Cookie) a little over a week ago from Jenny at Ginger's Pet Rescue. After seeing her profile online we fell in love and submitted our application. I liked how in depth the application went because I could tell they cared about placing the right dog in the right home. Jenny (Rue's foster mom) got in contact with me and we set up a time to meet her and have our other dog meet. The meet and greet went smoothly and I enjoyed how much they already cared for her. We fell even more in love with Rue and adopted her that night! When we brought her home she was healing from Kennel Cough but took a turn for the worse 5 days into having her. Ginger's Pet Rescue was more then willing to help and paid for her vet bill. Rue is already feeling much better with the new antibiotics! With the price of $495 it may be a price shock but with all the love Rue has already brought to our home it is more then worth it! We also like that with a more expensive price the money can go towards helped with other rescue dog's medical needs. We also received all records of her previous vet bills!
