Super clean and super friendly people! We got our two year old kitty from them today and we will always look here first from now on for animals!

Another wonderful animal sanctuary! Good variety of cooking classes, and we left with wonderful, healthy recipes to try at home. The goats are so sweet! Gift shop items are a little pricey, but it is for a good cause. There was plenty of parking when we got there. They have compost in addition to the trash and recycle bins which is great! One thing I might suggest changing is making the restrooms fragrance free so more people can experience the sanctuary. Their directions in their email were very helpful and easy to understand. I highly recommend taking a tour of the shelter to everyone. Plus all of the animals are looking for loving homes, so bring friends with yards/farm land! :) Thank you Pasados!

We just took a vegan cooking class here and had a lot of fun. This is not a restaurant but they have plenty of cooking classes and one that jumped out to us was a vegan cheese class. They did four types including cheesecake, Mac and cheese, a cheese spread, and a nacho cheese. All of them were good and it's always nice to know how to make them on your own especially since cheese trends to be a hand thing to give up when people transition to eating more ethicaly. Side note- They seem to take great care of the animals

This safe haven in one word is: COMPASSIONATE. I went on a tour back in December 2013. I literally cried my eyes out hearing the animal's stories and how much they suffered at the hands of humans. The tour offered delicious vegan chickn strips and field roast with a delicious gravy. The tour bought my journey of veganism full circle. Hopefully people see how much animals suffer for the sake of humanity's appetite and change how they persee animals -- and not just companion ones we keep warm at home.

When I read the reviews I was taken by surprise, then I looked at the dates and noticed that most of these horrible reviews were from 2 years ago. My experience was quite different so if these were true I can assure you this is not the case in present time. To make a long story short I recently started fostering a Foxhound from Pasado's. Chuck was one of 72 Foxhounds that were rescued partly from Pasado's. These dogs lived in terrible conditions and were neglected and abused. Chuck will never be a "normal" dog but I'm sure going to work with him and make him the best he can be. Pasado's has spent thousands of $$$ rehabing these dogs so that they can be placed in home. If you have ever been there the place is huge with so many different animals all from different situations. It probably cost a fortune to keep things up. To give you an idea of how much these people care, for me to take Chuck home it wasn't as easy as going in talking a couple hours and walking out with a dog. It took about a month for the process to go through. First off I was interviewed and they explained what I was getting into. Then I was introduced to Chuck and I came to visit several times so he would get used to me. Pasado's came to my home and did an inspection to make sure Chuck would be safe at my home. The day of arrival to my home Chuck was checked by the vet once more and lightly sedated so he could make the trip to my home. They provided me with food, 2 kennels, a harness, and collar. They never once asked for any $$ from me. They were so happy that I was opening my home to him. I have personal cell phone numbers that I can call at anytime if I have a problem or question. This hardly sounds like an organization that doesn't care for animals and are using funds inappropriately. As for Rio, I can't answer to what happened and why. But I can tell you that there is always two sides to a story. Unfortunately, there are people out there that stretch the truth to make the story more shocking. And I would never listen to what an unhappy employee or volunteer has to say. Maybe Pasado's was cleaning house and decided that some people no longer fit in with the program. In closing I highly respect the people at Pasado's and what they stand for. I'm so happy to have Chuck at our home. Please consider adopting your next pet from them you won't be sorry. And if you have been to Pasado's and had a great experience please share it here. Susan

I adopted a kitten from Pasado's and couldn't be happier! She came from a hoarder home so the beginning of her life was rough but the awesome team at Pasado's rescued her and her siblings and gave them the medical care they needed. She is now very well adjusted in her new home :-) THANK YOU for saving her life!

I've been to several shelters in the past year to adopt and it's been up and down. I went here on a Saturday after work and brought home my fur ever baby girl. I'm a proud happy fur mom . This is the happiest day of my life . I cried so many tears of joy when I was able to adopt my new female dog. I named her Sasha. Previously known as Oldsmobile. Sasha is the absolute sweetest girl ever. Sasha is what my heart needed. As a puppy she is very smart. Introducing to crate has been fairly well. Eating wow this girl can eat, run, do sprints around the house, yard and is super excited. I am too lol. Potty training is going very well in the morning she wakes me up with kisses to say she has to go and stands by door we go out. We have a routine. Totally recommend Homeward Per adoption to everyone. I was in a pretty helpless position as I was not due to be home for several days. My son came up with a great idea and checked online to see if our dog had been found and turned in to the RASKC. Sure enough, she was there. My wife went down the next morning, paid the fee and picked her up. She had been well treated, and we are very thankful that they found her and gave her a good safe place until we could come get her. My son said that she was so excited to see him. She cried and whined, and fell asleep in his arms in the car. Thank you very much

I know that you are underfunded but really--why is this so bizarrely inept and broken? Just make a PAPER LIST and call us, like a restaurant hostess would do. Some people manage to get pre-approved for pets but there is no way to do that on the website, which is confusing. The bad: Seattle Humane listed a dog as no special needs. We took time off work, prepared to visit and apply, we were ready. First in line, the volunteer told me before we met the dog she's undergone 3 operations - 2 for cancer- since arriving. Also she had a major bladder operation and requires special food and no treats, recurrence is likely. None of these are deal breakers for potential adopters w a big budget for operations, but why wasn't this in the description. We met the dog and she was cute, but we didn't get a room- we got to go in her little kennel and squat down (avoiding the urine) and try to get to know this dog who is still wearing a big plastic e-collar. Poor pup! Also meeting her first me, then my husband (as volunteers handed out peanut butter on bags as enrichment which she wanted badly) was chaos. I know these places are busy, and smaller animals are in demand, but for the sake of the dog's success in a new home please be more up front about medical problems AND reward our time outside in the cold lined up for opening by giving us a place to visit where we could both meet the dog without her bumping her plastic head protector on us. Last spring my husband was first in line seeing a dog- they sat him in the kennel w a dog who never came out from the divider in back. They interrupted his visit to say "sorry someone was ahead of you, you need to leave". This was another odd case of a successful dog family being treated like we're really not welcome nor do they care if we adopt. Our last dog lived to be almost 18, our last two cats were 18 and 19 when they passed. Our dog and one cat we're both special. Medical needs. I've trained and shown dogs and I volunteered with animal rescues for over 20 years. I've been on multiple boards of directors for shelters. Adopters are potential donors and supporters and I wish Seattle humane took that more seriously. We were very sad that the dog we had hoped to adopt and arrived. Prepared to apply turned out to have medical needs that were never disclosed. That little dog could've been taken home by the wrong family who really doesn't understand the scope of her medical needs because they didn't find out until they got to the counter and already had their heart set on her. That is the wrong journey for the dog and the humans.
