Every single item was excellent. The flavors were authentic, the portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The mojitos were refreshing and complemented the meal perfectly. Unfortunately, I visited on a busy Saturday and was short on time, so I opted for takeout and ended up eating elsewhere. Because of that, I can't fairly comment on the table service. Copied my review from google: Honestly so disappointed with this place. Placed an order for literal SOUP and after being told it'll take 20 minutes I get there in 30 and still had to wait like 15-20 minutes being told it'll just be 5 minutes like 3 times. As reparations they gave me extra crackers (thanks?) but seriously just be truthful and stop wasting your customer's time. Then when I'm leaving a guy chased me down saying I didn't pay when I did - and I showed my bank account to prove it. Absolutely ridiculous, such a frustrating experience overall, I kind of liked this place but I'd rather go somewhere else now. Adding on the owner called me the next day and dropped my 2-star review to a 1-star. He basically tried to call an explain why it happened, which just sounded like poor management to me. Plus he mentioned he saw the camera footage and doesn't think I'm lying - this statement irritated me to no end because why are you even commenting on the validity of my story? Focus on apologizing to a paying customer instead of making excuses for your poorly managed establishment - I've worked in customer service so I know how these things can be handled and this was overall handled so badly. read more

We were visiting from the US and were at ridgeway plaza when we came across Ginsoy. Literally took us back home to pakistan! The hot and sour soup was really spicy but delicious! In the US , nowhere are you served fish crackers with soup. The only feedback I have for that is that the soup should automatically come with fish crackers, and customers shouldn't have to buy. We got the egg fried rice and chicken chow mein which were both delicious. Chow mein was exactly how you get in pakistan! We also tried the ginsoy special, black pepper beef, and sczechuan chicken. Keep in mind the items that have a pepper next to it are indeed very spicy . Only change again , i would have is , the black pepper beef should be more dry and not gravy. We've been coming to Ginsoy for years, so this was honestly really disappointing. On May 17, we came in with our family for a birthday dinner. There were around 18 of us and we spent over $600. Some of us even drove all the way from Oshawa for this dinner because we were expecting a nice family celebration. We brought a cake and planned the whole evening there. Instead, we ended up leaving hungry and taking the cake somewhere else because nobody was even enjoying the food. To be fair, the soups were good, the fried rice was decent, and the wings were probably the best thing we ordered. But the chowmein was honestly horrible. The noodles smelled weird as soon as they came out, were completely overcooked and mushy, and tasted old. One of my cousins literally spit the noodles out after trying them because they tasted that bad. Some of the gravies also tasted sour and off, and people genuinely stopped eating. What made it worse was how everything was handled after. My uncle calmly explained the issue to the manager, Nikita, and instead of listening, she stood there with her arms crossed looking irritated and kept saying that nobody else complained about the chowmein. But we WERE complaining about it because it was bad. We were honestly taken aback by Nikita's behaviour. The way she spoke to us and handled the situation was so unprofessional that we genuinely could not believe she was the manager. The part that really got us was that nobody even apologized. Not once. No "sorry about that," no attempt to fix anything, nothing. Just defensiveness. We understand restaurants can have off days. It happens. But when a family spends over $600 for a birthday dinner and leaves disappointed, hungry, and taking the birthday cake somewhere else to finish the celebration, that says a lot. Really upsetting experience, especially from a place we've been to so many times before. We definitely will not be returning after this. UPDATE: After posting my original review, the owner called me personally. Instead of apologizing or trying to understand why an entire table of 18 people was unhappy after spending over $600, I got what felt like a detailed replay of what he saw on the security cameras, what his assistant manager Nikita told him happened, and a full rundown on the restaurant's refund policy. At that point, I honestly had to hang up because the conversation was becoming frustrating and completely missing the point. The issue was never whether we spoke to the manager or how long the conversation lasted. The issue was the food quality and the way our concerns were handled. The chowmein smelled bad, tasted old, and was so unpleasant that one family member literally spit it out. Some gravies tasted sour, multiple people stopped eating, and we left a birthday dinner still hungry. What disappointed me most is that even afterward, there still seemed to be more focus on defending the restaurant than acknowledging the customer experience. I've been hearing about this place for an extremely long time and finally found my way over here It definitely did not disappoint, the hot and sour soup, the chili chicken were the absolute Stars I can't wait to come back and try more of these dishes It was unlike other restaurants that I've been to because this is Pakistani Chinese fusion restaurant. Several restaurants were recommended to me based on demand. This was one of three. The first one entered was empty so we decided to check Ginsoy out and found it somewhat busy. You'd think that's a good sign, right? The restaurant is spacious though some of the tables near the back wall are too close together. It's where we'd be getting seated. Asked if we had reservations, we did not. Sat down anyhow and immediately served light, airy chips with a green chutney. They were good. We ordered an appetizer to start, dynamite prawns; thickly battered and deep fried. Not what we were expecting but tasted decent and heavily sauced. Kindo supreme chicken and mix chow mein followed next. The dishes arrived quickly as the place had not yet filled up for the later dinner rush. The kindo chicken had no taste. The mixed chow mein which included chicken, beef and shrimp also had no taste and was super oily. The struggle to eat was real. I had to drench my food with various sauces in order to consume. This is never a good sign. The flavour was a 6 out of 10. I asked my friend to rate their experience and they too said between 5-6/10. Service was good and quick. Friendly servers, promptly responded to requests. What was shocking was the amount of people in the restaurant. It was packed to the brim. I'm not even sure why. The food is subpar. Please make a reservation before you head to this place. This was my third time here and but the wait times are insane. They usually have a wait between 1-2 hours. So keep that in mind. We started with the Dynamite Prawn, Manchurian Soup. I loved both starters, but the soup was my favourite. For our Main course I got the Mix fried rice, Mix Chowmein, Classic Beef Chilli Dry, Spicy Garlic chicken and Spicy Schezwan Fish. Loved the fried rice, mostly because it was not greasy like other Hakak places. The Fried rice with Garlic curry was a great pair. Noodles had good flavour too. What amazed me was how large the quantity was. They are generous which is good because one dish costs $25. My only complaint would be the time taken to get our food to the table. We got our mains after an hour, which was very ridiculous. I had to ask the server the status of the food because no one came to update us about our food, which got me and my guests a little annoyed. If the restaurant can improve on serving the food faster I would definitely recommend everyone to try this place. read more

Ginsoy chain is very popular abroad has opened up a location here. On arrival, at this time it's all about luck, they are extremely busy, you may or may not get a seat. With everything, eventually it will calm down. Currently they have shortened Soft opening menu which I added a picture for. Eventually, the menus will include a lot more options. Decided to try the dynamite prawns. These were perfectly battered and fried, crispy on the outside, the sauce it was paired with really added to the flavour. Kindo Chicken, this was delicious, full of flavour. We added a noddles as our carb dish and paired with both this was full of flavour. Had dinner here last night. We ordered several dishes to share among 5 of us. We walked in and were seated within 5 minutes. Our waiter was fast and attentive. There were plenty of waiters you can wave down and they were very attentive as well. Food came out quickly and portions were generous. Everything was true to flavor. They use white meat chicken. Healthier than eating out at a hakka restaurant. We found the food very spicy, the kind that is too hot and takes away the flavor of the food. For a Chinese food, that is such a let down because we couldn't enjoy the real flavors of the food. The service was sub-par too. It took about 30 minutes to get our food on the table, for a simple Chinese menu! The waitresses were not too welcoming. It seems they couldn't take the order properly. We waited for half an hour for the food and they didn't even give us our drink. It's like the attention and connection with the customers are lacking.
