I was in the area and came here again. This time, it was for two people and we got a table right away on a Saturday evening around 7pm. I tried the seekh kebabs from their grilled menu this time. The kebabs came out sizzling and very tender. Portions were slightly on the smaller side but it came with a naan. I also got the regular size chicken biryani. It came with two pieces of chicken and perfect portions for two people to share. Service was excellent, staff were so friendly and attentive. They do pre-add gratuity to the bill but it's only 10% and they don't even give you the option to increase or add more tip. There's a tip box at the front host desk to give additional tip (which we did because the service was genuinely so good!).

Our servers were very accommodating and friendly and explained a lot of the menu items to us. There's a lot of variety and something for everyone -- spice lovers (and those who prefer mild like myself). Here's what we ordered for 10 people: * Chicken biryani * Zauq special bulochi karahi * chicken tikka masala * Mongolian beef * Paneer kurchan * Puri Paratha x2 * Garlic naan x4 * Mango Lassi x4 Everything was super delicious and not too spicy. After tax and tip it was about $31 per person -- super reasonable and great value for what we got. We even had enough leftovers to fill 5 takeout bowls. Note that they don't take reservations for less than 6 people!! Lots of free parking in the plaza where it's located. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Just two bathroom stalls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 20251026

After having visited their original location many years ago (and I still remember the experience to be a wonderful one), the moment I saw a new revamped location, I knew I had to try it asap. Visited on day 1 and was not only impressed from the moment we walked in, but left happy and pleased with the service and food. Other people who were with me had health concerns and cannot tolerate any excess oil and spicy food. The waitress was patient with us and gave us their best recommendations based on our needs. Additionally, food prep didn't take too long. We ordered the paneer karahi, chicken stuffed paratha and the fried rice. The food was excellent, but the only thing I noticed is that there wasn't much chicken added to the fried rice, and it felt more like eating a veggie fried rice thus it was either wrongly made or advertised on the menu. Portion wise, everything was very generous and it lasted us 2 meals. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the attention to detail put in the decor and design/aesthetic of the resto.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They've also got a secret garden at the back for small groups, and a prayer area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would come back over and over again. It's a nice spot to take guests and loved ones alike, for a special night out. Food is delicious too. I enjoyed their karahi the most.

My family loves going to Zauq with friend and family as well as any celebration meal. The atmosphere is beautiful and aesthetically so pleasing. Its got a modern rustic vibe to it. You serve yourself water, cutlery and plates - everything is provided in advance. The service is great and quick, and the food is absolutely delicious. We always leave there so full yet still have many leftovers. You can also bring your own cake and they'll provide additional small bowls for serving. Overall, highly recommend. We specifically enjoy the keema, masala fries, nihari and karahi.

Came here on a Friday night and it was surprisingly packed! As soon as I walked in I could tell from the aromas that the food was going to be good. We tried the chicken karahi (which they're known for) and it was great, and we also really liked the chicken biryani. The dum keema was alright, we asked for it mild though it would've been good with a bit of spice. Overall was a very solid spot, and the decor was unique / interesting too. Would go back again!

I really enjoyed Zauq! First off when you enter the ambience is so warm and cozy - you are drawn in to a lovely experience. They have lots of seating, many tables for different sized families. I liked the plating and cutlery as well. Service to take the order was prompt. Waiters were friendly. Food did not come out super fast, but everything arrived warm. Food itself was quite delicious! I ordered a butter chicken, volcano chicken, and Nihari. Volcano chicken was my favourite - it has great flavour. Oh and also ordered a cheese naan too because why not. Total came to $78 including tip (btw they often include the tip in the machine total so just check for that so you don't tip twice!) Would definitely come back for some delicious Pakistani eats in Mississauga!

The restaurant had a nice atmosphere as they had some wooden panels to separate the large tables. All tables sit 4+ people. There are two walls with faux grass on it which had a nice appeal. The service was okay and the washroom needed a lot of improvements. The men's washroom door was hanging on by the hinged. The ladies ran out of toilet paper, no new roll to be seen. Two water jugs left on the floor - somehow!?! We ordered the beef samosas. Crispy and it had a spicy kick to it. Yummy!! The sizzling plate of beef ribs was well marinated and I enjoyed this dish very well. The chicken curry was too spicy for me!! The chicken got too dry and hard at the end to chew on. The naan bread - I lot it. The chewiness was there! Overall it was a decent Pakistani food experience. However the following day, both my partner and I had tummy issues in the washroom. You figure out the rest.

Restaurant: Ambiance: I have to say they have done a splendid job. The establishment is covered in greenery. Almost like a garden oasis inside. Each table comes with their own stand (get your own plates, cutlery, water, even entertainment for children- crosswords, & sauces). Great place for a date night or family time. Food: Chicken Lollipop: delicious, great tasting appetizer seasoned well Chicken 65: very tasty Chicken Karahi: this was spicy, portions for half was great to be shared with 3 people Bihari kabon wrap: this was tasty, the paratha was a little oily Butter chicken: I would have to say this was my least favorite. It was on a sweet side. Chicken Biryani - good meat to rice ratio Haleem - this was the star dish, it was very flavorful. I would just had hoped they would include the sides with it (lemon etc) Sheekh Kabob - tasty & flavorful (not dry) Salad - average salad (lettuce, cucumbers) - dressing not provided Naans - Fresh Channa Masala - very popular, this did have a bit of kick to it Nihari - I found it it bit on the oily side but it was delicious regardless. Service: despite us showing up wifi a large crowd, they were accommodating and the fast arrived quickly. The server was very knowledgable about their menu. Catering: I have ordered catering from Zauq twice now and both myself and my guests were thoroughly pleased with the food. The process was fast. You fill out the online form, the package of your choice & they will be in contact for confirmation. The pricing for catering is decent.

    10x piece lollipop chicken

I cam here for lunch with a friend who was really craving curry. We got the 10x piece lollipop chicken and the channa mazedar curry. The person working there had informed us that the curry was enough for two people. When I first saw the dish, I was a little hesitant to believe it, but after about 3/4 way through the meal, we were both already pretty full! I also really liked how, when I asked for a "mildly spicy" option (as I have very little spice tolerance), the level of spiciness was perfect for me! The lollipop chicken was also well-spiced and very delicious. The service was also great. There were many dishes that I didn't know what they were, but the person helping us (his name is Nowaz and he explicitly said he would love to have his name shared if we left a review onlnie) was extremely patient and helpful with all my questions. His customer service was absolutely superb and I noticed he made a point to talk to every customer as they were starting their meals and before they left. I would definitely come again!

Came on a Friday night, it is very busy. There are a lot of options on the menu. The menu is divided into 3 main sections, Pakistani, Indian and Chinese Hakka. The service was pretty good and they were all attentive. We ordered the Zauq bbq platter, there were different types of meats and naan. All tasted really good, and very flavourful. I would suggest you come with more people, and that would give you a chance to try more options as there are a lot of options on the menu.

I have been to Zauq a handful of times, separated by years. Most of my visits were before joining Yelp. Back in 2011, I had a student intern who worked in my department. She was from Switzerland and was 19 years old. There was an older male colleague who had asked her to lunch. She got nervous and asked that I join her, to make sure that all went well. I agreed and became the third wheel. The student intern became my friend. Both of us didn't have boyfriends then. We do now. Back then, Zauq had a more simplistic look and feel to its decor. I want to say shabby, but it wasn't as nice as it is these days with chandeliers dangling from the ceiling and nice upholstery. I recall ordering the butter chicken and tikka chicken in the past. Both were tender and flavourful. Back then, we didn't have any issues with parking. We also worked at our old office. It took longer to get here. At our current office, it takes us five minutes by car to get here. On Friday, I drove a couple of colleagues to Zauq. One of them was concerned that I didn't have my GPS out. I was good. I've been here before. Parking is crazy in this lot. I managed to nab a spot further away and we walked in. We were a party of six and got a booth. My three other colleagues came in a bit later. We all got the lunch special. You get to choose one appetizer, one starch, and one protein from three separate lists. I went with lollypop chicken, biryani rice, and chilli chicken, respectively. You get two pieces of lollypop chicken. They were hot from the deep fryer, but not hot to the point where you lose the skin off the roof of your mouth. They were delicious and juicy. I loved them! The biryani rice was perfect. It was fluffy and yummy. I loved my chilli chicken. There was a bit of heat, but the spices made the dish. My colleagues loved their food, too. I want to try the fried fish as an appetizer. They looked good! It was nice coming back here after years had gone by. Obviously, this restaurant serves yummy, quality food. Otherwise, it would have folded by now. (240)

Walking in, we were greeted with a smile. The interior of the restaurant was spacious with a private feel since they had areas sectioned off from one another. We ordered the Japchae (5/5), Boneless Yangnyum Galbi (4/5), Pork Belly (4/5). Japchae was delicious with a hint of smokey flavour to it. The noodles were chewy and complemented well with the savoury flavours of bulgogi. The vegetables added a nice crunch to every bite. The mushrooms added a chewy and fun texture to the dish. Boneless Yangnyum Galbi was so tender. Its marinade was on the sweet side which we weren't really a fan of but we still enjoyed the dish. Pork Belly was also tender. It was thinly sliced which was quite a let down since we typically prefer pork belly sliced a bit thicker. The BBQ we ordered came with two bowls of rice and lettuce (non-refillable), ssamjang and sesame oil with black pepper and salt for dipping, and some side dishes that were refillable: kimchi, bean sprouts, cucumbers and sweet potato. The overall quality of the ingredients, especially the meats, were great. It was pretty telling how much the cooks enjoyed prepping and cooking the dishes. This place is on the pricier side which is reasonable for the quality of their food. The portions are also reasonable for their price-points. I'd come back on a special occasion and/or when I'm craving japchae. The servers we had were attentive, checking in every so often to clear our dishes and change our grills.
