Great place for takeout for cheap local sushi We ordered the specialty combo of the 10 special rolls for $90. Overall, the rolls were great, but I did notice that the fried shrimp roll options had a ton of breading so I may be would stick to one or two of those rolls. Shumai were standard. Would recommend for cheap pick up sushi

Great special rolls with very unique options such as crushed pistachio and octopus, a roll stuffed inside a grilled squid, and fried oysters. They also have awesome specials when you order lots of rolls so this is my go to for catering for parties. The staff is also super nice and the place is very cozy and cute.

The six of us had lunch here at Ginza in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. I ordered the lunch special with spicy tuna, tuna avo, and salmon avo along with the sweetheart roll. Got the salad with ginger dressing. Had the bottomless hot green tea. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Took care of dietary restrictions and gave free dessert to the kids. Not busy at all with customers. Just the way I like it. Quiet inside dining with few other customers. No frills ambiance, which is fine.

I came here with 4 of my friends on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. I have seen this place before but never gotten a chance to try until. We did family style (ordered to share) of appetizers and rolls. For the amount of food we ordered, it was very good and filling. The service was good (we didn't have to wait too long for our appetizers but a bit of a wait for our rolls) By the time we finished our appetizers, our sushi boat was ready. The place is a good size for small or medium size party. I would definitely want to come back to try their lunch special (from open 'till 4pm).

Ordered their takeout Sushi lunch combo, and liked it. Read some Yelp reviews and decided to get their Sushi rolls as its highly recommended. Sushi tasted just about the same as other Japanese restaurants, but the size of each roll were huge in size compared to other places. And for that this reviews deserves my four stars rave. Price is decent for combo special as it comes with a side salad. Will try their bento box next time

Quickly becoming our favorite spot in the neighborhood. Fresh, well priced, always prompt & courteous, and accessible. Favorites: 1. Scallop roll- mini pricey but u get what u pay for... delish! 2. Trifecta per usual: salmon is always fresh & succulent, yellowtail- you havta get used to their chopped style and tuna- requisite 3. My go-to anywhere doesn't disappoint here- mackerel sushi. Honorary mention: squid is fantastic here and eel avocado also an almost always must. The photos are over many weeks- enjoy! We clearly heart u Ginz!

Wesley roll on the bottom, cucumber skin roll on the top. Both are rice free options!

Here's my TLDR review, for the efficient, busy, and fast-acting sushi lovers out there: Ginza is a no frills, very fresh, and very tasty Japanese restaurant. You'll be in and out of there in 30 minutes, but certainly will not leave hungry or broke. The food is very reasonably priced, especially when you catch $2.50 happy hour sushi (which runs the whole day, literally, and includes 22 standard rolls). I grew up in the area so I have been coming here for probably 10 years, and the food (including cooked dishes and sushi items) has been consistently good for as long as I can remember. Here are some more deets, if you have a little more time and attention span: The Shtick: No frills Japanese. I wouldn't say that this place has a particular "shtick," but the "happy hour" deal ($2.50 per roll for 28 rolls on the menu, all day) is a pretty huge differentiation, especially in a city where sushi is often the higher priced dinner option. The Product: The food here never disappoints. I love that there are so many rice free sushi roll options, which are my personal favorite, and all rolls are thoughtfully composed for ultimate flavor and textural combinations. The Cucumber Skin roll is my favorite, which has tuna, salmon, white fish, tamago, and avocado on the inside, and is wrapped in cucumber. The three fish pair very well together and the tamago adds an excellent element of sweetness and texture to the roll. The avocado is always fresh and creamy, and the cucumber skin wrapping adds the crunchy textural element that this roll needs. The cooked food is also tasty, especially the chicken fried rice. Other honorable mentions on the menu are the gyoza, beef negima, tuna tataki, tuna or salmon tartar, yellowtail jalapeno appetizer, wesley roll, and the chirashi. The Space: The restaurant is cozy, a bit dim, and has a very cool mirror ceiling that will keep you and your friends/family occupied until your first course comes (which takes approximately 95 seconds). There are booths and tables in the front of the restaurant, and additional seating in the back. You can also sit up at the bar and watch the sushi chefs prepare your meal! The Staff: No complaints at all here. I have been coming here for many years with friends and family, so the staff have all gotten to know me. Whenever I come back, they ask about my parents, sister, and various friends I have taken there for lunch/dinner over the years. They are a bit fast-paced, so they might come over to your table quickly once you are seated to see if you are ready to order, often stop by to ask if there's anything you need, and will ask if you are finished with something as soon as you put your chopsticks down. That said, I never got the feeling that I was being disrespected or rushed, but rather the wait staff was very attentive (which I would consider to be a good thing). Price/Value: Can't beat it! $2.50 for half of the sushi rolls on the menu is basically unheard of. Though some of the special rolls can be pricey (upwards of $10), most of them are reasonable priced, and the hot dishes are all under $15. The Chirashi is an excellent bang for your buck, because at $12 you get 12 pieces of varied sashimi along with seasoned rice. Plenty for a full meal, even if you come hangry.

    Favorite special rolls!

Our favorite sushi place for many years now. Due to covid we just have them deliver or we go to pick it up! Service is always great. Food is always fresh.

There're a lot of various Asian fusion restaurants that serve sushi in the Sheepshead Bay area but…read moremost of them sell affordable but low quality sushi made of frozen, not fresh fish and other cheap ingredients so despite large quantity of such places, it's really difficult to find one that would offer delicious, first rate sushi and seafood products. Hayashi opened up many years ago and still seem to maintain a great reputation by serving delectable sushi made out of premium quality ingredients and other staple Japanese and Asian dishes such as hibachi, pad thai, donburi-delicious Japanese rice bowl dish consisting of either fish or meat, various veggies, steamed together and served with savory sauces. My personal favorite is Unagi don-steamed white seasoned rice topped with grilled fillets of eel covered by a sweetened soy based sauce and garnished with Japanese style pickled vegetables that compliment the sweet, slightly smoky flavor of the fish and add an interesting crunchy texture to the whole dish. Anyways tonight we ordered Sushi Pizza and it was true flavor and taste explosion-perfect combination of grilled eel, avocado, masago, cream cheese served on a scrumptious, crispy pancake and covered with a few different sauces. 10 out of 10-delicious, filling, portion big enough to share and very satisfying. Spicy Salmon tartar definitely didn't disappoint as it was made with the very fresh chopped salmon, mixed with an amazing spicy mayo type of sauce and addition of masago caviar plus quail egg perfectly married all the flavors and textures-10 out of 10, spectacular, definitely will order again. Hayashi salad had a combo of 4 different salads in 1-kani, spicy tuna, fried salmon skin and a seaweed, was served on the bed of avocado and overall tasted great except for 1 minus-mediocre quality of a fried salmon skin which wasn't consistent, some pieces were deliciously crunchy and very tasty while others were overly dry and practically impossible to chew- 7 out of 10, they definitely need to work on improving the quality of salmon skins. Finally we wanted to try a Hibachi style noodles and it was great-yummy, not oily or greasy, full of that unique hibachi flavor, had perfect veggie to noodles ratio and was generously sized. Overall very satisfying dinner experience, fabulous raw fish and seafood dishes, delicious noodles, definitely recommend Hayashi to everyone as they have a vast menu which would satisfy any craving or dietary preference.

Been coming here for years!! Highly recommended. Yummy…read moresushi and really good hot food
