I'm not usually one to review same place again and again but damn this spot is good Did a birthday party and ordered few party trays. Sushi was fresh and delicious. Great selection too. Love inclusion of premium sashimi and sushi in some party trays - uni, amaebi, fatty tuna, salmon belly etc. even salad w wasabi dressing was a huge hit thanks Look Deer Sushi for delicious and memorable trays

Love this hidden gem of a spot for some quality and affordable sushi. Their fish is great quality considering the price and they also have more premium offerings like toro, Hokkaido scallops, Wagyu and more! The sushi deluxe special is a great deal considering all the good pieces you get. I also come here often for their 3 roll combo deal which is a steal! You can pick any three rolls for only around $12.50. Their fried squid is another favorite of mine. Perfectly breaded and not too heavy! The spicy mayo it comes with is the perfect pairing. I'll definitely be back for trying out the other items on their menu like the dons!!

I haven't been her in a while but I noticed that this is a new name. I have deep history with the restaurant that was in this spot, tucked away right under the train. So this was the place that I got introduced to sushi about almost 20 years ago. It was also the very first restaurant where I had a solo meal for the first time. I was in the area with my family and wanted to bring them here as my nephew has now taken on my love for sushi. We walked in and I noticed that the decor is beautiful and bright. I'm not sure if it is affiliated with the previous sushi restaurant but it was kind of dark lol. Brightness is welcomed to me lol. I was so happy that the food was AMAZING. My family and I were not disappointed. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I had a California roll with a Spicy Yellowtail and it was sooooo delicious, fresh and just the right amount of spice. My son had the pork ramen which was really good and the noodles were amazing. Even the fries were good. I will definitely be back soon.

Such a hidden gem in this neighborhood! The fish is so fresh and at a great price point! The service was very good as well! Friendly staff! I was so impressed and will definitely be coming back!

Saw it was new and highly rated so had to try it! The location can be either good or bad. Good in that it's near the train station. Bad in that it's sort of a weird location behind the train station. Upon walking in, it was much smaller than I expected. It's fine because we made ourselves comfortable. We ordered edamame, seaweed salad, uni special, torch sushi (wagyu, toro, salmon, scallop). I finished that relatively quickly and it was good but not amazing, but it is also fresh so I would order again. The ramen looked good and was quite good for the price. They also load it up with pork, so def worth it to have this quality in this area. I'd highly recommend this place.

My new favorite local sushi spot! The sushi quality here is always on point and I've been back multiple times now! I've only gotten takeout from here and never have to wait more than 15 minutes for my food. The sushi deluxe is always my go to along with the 3 combo roll. This is definitely a hidden gem in brooklyn and conveniently located next to the train station. The staff here is always extremely nice as well. Will definitely be back soon!

The food was okay, just wanted to get a quick lunch in so it did come out quick. The tuna roll that I got though the pieces were stuck together unfortunately The server was super nice and really attentive no complaints on that end. I went in during lunch and there wasn't much people. All tables can easily see the chefs as they prepare the sushi which is nice.

We ordered take out from this new Japanese restaurant. All dishes were fresh and tasty. Salmon fried rice was surprisingly good with very big portions. Every single rice has absorbed the salmon oil. Salmon bento box is a healthier option, it included edamame, mix veggies, a taste of sushi roll and a cup of soup on the side. The salmon was crispy on the skin and soft inside. Lastly, if you like eel, their eel on top of rice is amazing. They use the middle portion, the thick and tender part of the eel. I will definitely order again.

Order delivery here often through Ubereats and I love them. The sushi always fresh and good portion size. Sometime they include ice pack to keep sushi cold during hot weather and I appreciate that a lot My go-to is the salmon lover set

Was near the area so decided to stop by. Definitely did not disappoint. Everything that was order was done nicely. I got those roses and they were sweet and tasty. Will come back often! Officially my favorite sushi spot.

10/10 lunch deal. Very friendly service and delicious fresh fish. $8.95 for 2rolls. Not only bento box, their ramen, sushi, sashimi, and appetizer CANNOT beat. The location is very convenient just next to the train station. My daughter's birthday party is coming up, I definitely will order the party tray.

Special Sushi & three roll combo

A gem in this neighborhood. Fish was fresh & had great presentation! They don't skimp on the fish either! Service was attentive and pleasant. Will be coming back!

We only had to wait about 15 minutes before getting seated. They definitely get crowded though, so it's best to have a reservation! During "lunch" hours, the place is brightly light. Once "dinner" hours comes around, they set out candles on the tables and dim the lights for a different ambiance. The service was a bit off at first, since we waited a while to get our appetizers. This might have been due to the change in staff between lunch and dinner. The hostess noticed and checked on our appetizers, and got them right out. Afterwards, we had different waiter and he was very friendly and attentive. We did the Pick 3 appetizers: -Kyuri (cucumber): love the mix of flavors with the onions, vinegar and salt. The kyuri has a good bite to them -Kimchi Mushroom: the mushrooms also had a good bite to them. Not too spicy of a kimchi sauce, which I liked as it did bot overpower the mushrooms. -Shishito: I enjoyed the saltiness of the kelp with the char of the shishito. I went for the Tsukemen, which I loved at the Brooklyn location. This was just as good! The noodles had a good bite and the right thickness for the rich broth. I like the lemon on the side to help cut some of the richness. The egg is well marinated and perfectly jammy. The Hassaku Grapefruit Juice is a nice non alcoholic option. Very grapefruity and too sweet. We ended with the Tokyo Banana, which had a deliciously bruleed banana. They wrote Happy Birthday on the plate and had a little candle on the side. We only put it in the reservation, so it was nice of them to do. Overall, a great ramen spot to check out!

I got the Spicy Tan Tan Ramen because I love to have spice in mine, but wish I was able to adjust the spice level. It was definitely super creamy, thick, and filling. I really debated which one I liked more!

After reading all the glowing reviews, I had to try it for myself and Kohoku-Ku did not disappoint! Walking in, my first impression was small but cute, simple, and cozy. Since I dined early, it was delightfully peaceful. My server was incredibly warm and friendly, and the food came out impressively fast. I ordered a bowl of their signature Kohoku-Ku Ramen and an order of Takoyaki. The Kohoku-Ku Ramen was packed with flavor, totally unique, and deeply comforting. It completely hit the spot. The Takoyaki was cooked perfectly! A huge plus was that it wasn't buried under a mountain of bonito flakes like at many other places. As the evening went on and the dinner crowd rolled in, the atmosphere picked up a pleasant energy, but the noise level stayed remarkably comfortable that you can actually have a normal conversation without shouting across the table. The sweet potato tempura was really well done, one of my favorite appetizers not too oily but good with beer. The namesake ramen is loaded! So much tempura with soft shelled crab, shrimp, and even the enoki mushrooms! If you're a spice head you'll love it, because it's on the spicier side of ramens in NYC. If not... well good luck at the end. It's a pretty cozy place, so not a lot of seats. Service was good albeit a bit sparse, think 1 person was waiting every table so it was a bit slow at times. It's not my favorite ramen in NY but given the distance to my hotel it was a solid option for party members who want other stuff besides ramen.

We started with the pork belly appetizer which was recommended and stated on the menu indicating it's their featured dish. It was the biggest disappointment as it was extremely fatty with large chunks of fat, while the lean portions were dry. It didn't look very appetizing. The dumplings were just okay--they had decent flavor but I was hoping for a crispier texture. I ordered the Zebra Ramen. The noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, but the broth was much saltier than I would have preferred. The pat of butter felt unnecessary and made the broth overly rich without adding much depth. The chashu was on the small side and also quite fatty and I assume it's the same as the appetizer but was sliced instead of in large chunks. The marinated egg had good flavor, although the yolk was a little more cooked than I typically like. Another thing is the pork belly appetizer came with an egg. I wish the server would tell us so we didn't have to add it to our ramen with an extra charge. The nori was also completely soggy by the time it reached our table. Overall, the noodles were the only highlight of the meal and the rest were very underwhelming. It's definitely not a place I would recommend.

This spot delivers the kind of authentic paitan that reminds you why people used to line up on cold sidewalks just for a bowl. I ordered the Paitan Ramen Deluxe, and it genuinely lives up to the name. The broth is silky, rich, and comforting without being overly salty which is exactly what a proper paitan should be. The bowl comes loaded: tender shredded chicken, seared chashu, marinated soft-boiled eggs, fresh scallions, bamboo shoots, and a sheet of nori that ties everything together. Every topping tastes intentional, not just filler. The texture balance is what really stands out fatty chashu that melts, shredded chicken with real flavor, and noodles that hold up beautifully in the broth. You can taste the care in the soup base; it has depth, not just heat or salt. If you loved Totto Ramen back in the day, this feels like its modern successor same spirit, new precision. Toribro isn't trying to reinvent ramen which they're just doing it right. And in NYC, that alone makes it worth a visit.
