Service is great. Staff is friendly, but this is not fast food, but quality food so if eating in, expect a wait. If ordering takeout, I would call ahead. Pizzas are made after 5:00pm (as of Aug. 9, 2024.) There are 2 tables and a counter inside for seating. There is some seating outside for smaller parties. Pizza is hand-tossed so we ordered one thin crust personal pizza (14 inches.) Meat lovers pizza is loaded and delicious. We ordered nachos which were piled high with lettuce, beans, cheese, and sour cream. We added chicken and they were so yummy! The fries are standard and served piping hot. The fried chicken sandwich was tender pieces on a bun, but was tender and juicy. Delicious food. We will definitely be back! read more

We wanted to order from Angelos but kept getting thr voice mail when we called so I thought they were closed. I was bummed when I drove by and saw they were in fact open. We ordered from Giovannis. We ordered a large because they said the small was only 12". The large was supposed to be 14" but was more like 16". Wish we would've ordered the 12. There was a good amount of cheese and pepperoni and the onions were sliced nice and thin. The only complaint I have was the flavor of the "Italian Sausage" it did not taste ANYTHING like Italian sausage but more like some kind of Indian food spice. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Indian food but just not on a pizza, hence, the only 3 stars rating. I would order again if Angelos was closed but just don't get the Italian sausage. read more

This little joint serves Mexican and Italian food, which made me a little skeptical. Do I get pizza or tacos? Will it be any good? It is a hole in the wall. The very nice lady at the counter recommended the fish tacos and they were fantastic. Very lightly breaded, crispy. Baja style with pico, cabbage, chipotle sauce and lime wedges. Tortillas were warm and soft. Had the gazebo and view of the canal to myself (late lunch during the off season). Will definitely be back next time I'm in Buxton. After finding many restaurants closed or not open for takeout, we settled on Giovanni's. I was dying for some seafood, so I ordered the shrimp po boy. My heart sank when I discovered they were only making pizza and apps. I literally almost threw a tantrum... because we stopped at 4 restaurants by then looking for seafood. So to be turned down again, I said " nooooo... why can't I get any seafood...." The guy behind the counter said ."ok I'll make you a shrimp po boy but it'll be 20-25 minutes." I almost wanted to cry!! It has to be said, not because I wanted seafood so bad, but honestly it was the best shrimp po boy! Chrispy shrimp in a slightly spicy creamy sauce in a perfect Jersey roll. I have to give them 5 stars for a multiple of reasons 1) The Pizzas were amazing. I have to admit I did not realize how big they are. Much bigger than your chain pizza larges. We ordered The White Pizza, The meat lovers, and the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. All three were very good. 2) Service. We came down to the island on Saturday and by the time we checked in to the house got unpacked it was to late to cook, so we called around and Giovanni's was the only pizza restaurant open. We drove down and placed our order and they told us 1 hour for pickup and 3 for delivery... So we came back and waited... At the one hour mark, we returned and they told us that one of there pizza ovens had broke... We waited and waited. A little after 11, we finally received our pizzas. Now some people would be mad and angry at the wait time. But in this case I have to give them credit. They stayed hours past their posted closing time to ensure my family was fed. They could have easily told us sorry, here is your money back and went home. They could have made us half-ass pizza and called it a night but they did not. They gave a us a quality product despite all the issues they had to overcome. So that is why we will be ordering from them every time we are on the island. read more

EXCELLENT beef tongue tacos 10/10, best we have had! I'd give the pizza a 8.7/10, this crust, hot, no complaints. The brisket tacos were also very good, 9.5/10. Wow. Super impressed with the taste and quality. For a little pizza/taco place in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, it was a gem. Was able to pick up quick(they have delivery but it would be a time to get in the OBX). Everything was hot and ready when I arrived for my order. The girls working their were nice and polite. Excellent tacos! We ordered about 75 tacos in their recommended flavors--steak, chicken, and pork for a late-night munchy at my wedding. We had the tacos delivered toward the end of my reception and all of my guests were so excited and they ate nearly all the tacos within a matter of minutes. I got raving reviews from everyone and the sauces and toppings were delicious! My husband and I were very pleasantly surprised with the food based on the reviews. We had a long drive in & a cranky/worn out (but won't sleep) toddler. We looked up the only place that would deliver on Sunday night. We ordered a little before 7pm, they delivered a little after 8. I'm sure they were extremely busy bc we were told an hour. But the food was hot when it got to us. The delivery lady was friendly. AND THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD!!! We got a large Pepperoni & banana pepper pizza, antipasto salad, & cannoli. We don't eat a whole large, we hoped to have leftovers for lunch. We didn't have leftovers. & the cannoli was by far the best we have ever had. Like incredibly good. This place was awful. We were told we would have a bit of a wait. We ordered, paid, and sat down. We waited for 2.5 hours! A bit of a wait was an understatement. Why wouldn't you tell someone the reality of the situation so that they could make a decision on whether or not they want to actually wait that long??? We saw delivery orders running in and out and I get that you should do things in order, but if you have guests sitting there waiting to eat...maybe shift the priority for a second especially when you said a bit of a wait and we asked three times how much longer and each time got a bogus answer. read more

Placed pizza order for delivery at 6:58. Waited until 7:58 and then called for an update, they informed me the driver left "a while ago" so we assumed it would be there any minute. We waited an additional thirty minutes, and called again and they said he would be there in five minutes. Finally our driver arrived at 8:45 looking a little stoned; with cold pizza and a young girl in the car. Granted it wasn't the restaurants fault for him taking the pit stops to pick her up and toke up a little, but the manager didn't care when we called to make the complaint and just brushed it off. read more

The pizza isn't too bad but the business is run very unprofessionally. We went in and ordered a large pepperoni pizza(not delivery). It took 40 minutes. There were only 3 people there waiting on orders. There was hardly any pepperoni on the pizza. They were out of a good deal of stuff. People were coming in for orders they'd placed online or called in. Their orders weren't ready. The guy behind the counter had no clue what was going on. So while the pizza wasn't bad it was certainly nothing special. For what we got I thought the pizza was overpriced. I don't say I'd never go in again but it certainly wouldn't be my 1st choice. If you are looking for a commercial pizza like from a big chain, this is not the place. But if you love NY style pizza, packed with flavor with a tasty crust this is your place!
