Went here last night to grab a bite to eat. All ordering is done at the counter and you leave your name. When your food is ready, a waitress will be wandering the restaurant yelling your last name like she's calling turkeys, until the person responds. Anyway, my wife ordered baked ziti. What she got was a disgusting mess of wet pasta and watered down sauce. Water was literally pooling in the bowl. She was supposed to get a piece of garlic bread with her meal and that never came, even though we asked for it twice. I ordered a dozen wings. When my wife's food came out, they brought me spaghetti. I said I didn't order this I ordered wings. The waitress looked puzzled and walked away with the spaghetti. Literally 30 seconds later, another waitress arrived trying to give me the exact plate of spaghetti. I again said I didn't order this I ordered wings. She took it away again. Even the people sitting across from us and laughed and said "you're gonna eat that spaghetti whether you like it or not". Finally, 20 min later, after my wife was tired of trying to eat the disgusting food she was brought, my wings came out. Ice cold and with no blue cheese. I asked for some blue cheese and never got that. I'd stay far away. This may be the most awful service I have ever received anywhere. Left no tip because the service was terrible, the food was terrible, but if I have to order my food standing up in a line that I had to wait in, I'm not leaving a tip. read more

I tried to order a eggplant Parm sub large I ended up getting a small small one that could be a mistake, but I did ask for extra eggplant on the large one and they said we can't put extra eggplant on the hero. Ordered takeout for three people. Order 1) the wings were supposed to be extra crispy, they were barely cooked order 2) came was ordered with blue cheese, which was warm (ew, and also unsafe) order 3) was supposed to be chicken parm WITH SPAGHETTI but was served without it. When I called to ask about the mix up, the woman who answered the phone was very rude, and I'm always nice to people in service jobs, especially those who touch my food. Said spaghetti was no longer served with chicken parm, that it was by itself, and if i wanted to add spaghetti it would be $26!!! Said she explained it to me during the ordering process, which she did not. She explained you could no longer get partial orders with stuffed shells...I said just the spaghetti would be fine. Stay away, far away. ordered a Chicken Parmegiana and a vitamin water, food was delivered and when I opened in my hotel room, NO DRINK, NO FORK, NO KNIFE, no napkins and at the end, the pasta sauce was so bad, old and tasted really terrible, the garlic bread was soaked in oil, I had no way to eat, I tried with my fingers and simply tossed all the food into the garbage, what a waste, I should have given that money to the poor instead, 30 Dollars wasted this restaurant does not deserve to be in business at all. So placed a large pepperoni pizza order for delivery. The girl on the phone said it will be 40 min they are busy . I said ok that's fine. I waited 1 hour and 10 minutes, then I called and ask what's going on? So the girl said let me check your name and the. Came back on phone then said let me call your delivery driver. So a min or 2 went by then she said we don't have a delivery person right now . I said to her well you could have communicated that to me. I waited well past an hour. I've ordered from here three times and I have been disappointed every time. First time I ordered cream cheese poppers with our order and received cheddar poppers. Second time ordered a salad with our order and never received it. Third time ordered our pizza crispy and again received a soggy pizza. The rest of the order was bland. It's sad that I would recommend the maple city bowl food over an Italian restaurant. Not to take anything from the bowling alley because their food it delicious. They have great food, when they get an order right. We order from here weekly... every single week, and every single time they forget something. Usually they mess up my daughter's sub, she's 8 years old and only wants extra lettuce on it, and they repeat it back right yet make it wrong every time. They forget the ranch for my sons tenders, or even though it says ranch on the receipt, they give him blue cheese... they forget extra marinara when we request it.... it's just a s*** show. And we spend 50-75 dollars a week there. We complained finally, after multiple times of them making mistakes and we could overhear the girl complaining to a coworker about how we wanted free food. We weren't even requesting a replacement, we just wanted the mistakes to stop!!! We hope this review makes it so that people double check their orders before they leave when picking it up. I wouldn't get it delivered or you'll be screwed like we were multiple times. read more

I was visiting a friend in Hornell and we happened to pass this restaurant which was open on Sunday afterrnoon. We stopped in and found it was a wonderful place to eat. We had Lasagna and meat balls with garlic bread sticks served with marinara sauce. The food was delicious and servings were generous. We will return. Food is absolutely delicious but their ranch dressing the past 2 times I have gotten it was like white water poured over my salad. Extremely watery with no thickness or substance at all. I will have to bring my own dressing from now on. No complaints otherwise. read more

A great experience. Had the veal parmesan. Came with a side of spaghetti that was a meal on it's own. No table service until 4, which is understandable given that at 2, only 4 tables were occupied. The veal is pounded in house, super tender, and the sauce just the right àmount of sweet Seasoned bread sticks and cups of marinara were brought first. We were staying overnight at the Days Inn and wanted good local food. We were extremely surprised to find Giovanni's. The place was exactly what you would picture for a local pizza spot. We ordered the mozzarella garlic bread which was crazy good. Great marinara with it. My daughter ordered a sausage calzone and it was huge , hot out of the oven and filled with cheesy goodness . I had the eggplant parm which was also very sizable and tasty. Our waitress Michele was super upbeat and friendly . She was very busy but made every table feel important. That service is slow, but the slices are great! This looks like an old convenient store, it doesn't really have that Pizzeria feel to it. There salad bar has fruit, but the whole thing looks absolutely horrifying. The guy that took my order seemed like he was in pain because he had to take my order, then a kid working there interrupted the guy taking my order so he could get some change for god knows what. pretty unorganized pizza place, come on people learn how to run a business! read more

I felt as if we had stepped back in time and we were sitting in an old Dairy Queen. This little place had some pretty descent pizza and the chicken wings were really, REALLY good. I went to Giovanni's yesterday for the first time in seven years. It had only been seven years because I moved away, but they still have the best stromboli in all the land. I walked in and made my order to go and my food was ready 25 minutes later just like they said even though the dining area was half full. I used to live on the same block and eat there on a regular basis even when I was really poor. I doubt they recognized me even though more than half the people working there now have been working there since before I moved. The staff were friendly and focused on their jobs, not chit-chatting nor goofing off. I didn't tell them how far away I lived now but I enjoyed my food on my 150 mile drive home and just finished the leftovers. I will eat there any time I'm in the area while they are open. The prices are fair and the food is great. They never skimp on the cheese like most places do. If you live in or near Hornell they are definitely worth your time and money to check out. I only wish they had a facebook page so I could support and promote them from afar. Giovanni's chages help ALOT. Than in itself says alot to me. They do not have set prices for delivery prices for delivery. I HAVE ask for one at no avail. Often deliver. old and soggy food. They also tax each and every item separate ly. When the get the orders right I do like the food. read more
