A few years ago I learned I needed to cut out gluten and whilebthat has been helpful health wise it means not being able to do simple things like just order a pizza. I was told about the Giovannis chain so gave them a shot and its great. I get grilled buffalo chicken pizza once every few weeks and it is fantastic. I am not sure where the gf crust comes from but its much better than tye UDIs brand many places use. I spend so much money at this place and I'm sick to of being treated like garbage. Ordered a pizza and for the second time in a row the toppings were all to one side spilling off the pizza, first time I chalked it up to them being busy and rushing, it happens but tonight after paying tip, delivery fee and price of my food, I wanted what I paid for and asked to get a new one. I wasn't being picky, the toppings were off 3/4 of the pizza and all in the box. Driver said he would send a new one. After hearing anything back or getting a new one I called and the driver never said anything to the store. Had to convince the manager just for him to send me what I paid for then got hung up on. Really nice sub and pizza place. So far, I've always ordered online for delivery, which comes fairly quickly and on-time. My favorite sub is the egg salad, which a lot of sub shops don't offer. Ordered from the Malden location which we had success with in the past. Pizza, burgers fries and rings. When it arrived two large orders of fries were like cold hard sticks . The burgers which were usually really good were in a word edible. Overall a significant portion of the order found itself in our trash. This is our new go-to place for pizza! We love that they offer gf pizza. The crust is good and it's nice n' cheesy. We no longer miss eating pizza thanks to Giovanni's! My husband (not gf) usually complains there's not enough meat on the meat lovers pizza. No complaints at Giovanni's! He gave them a big thumbs up. The owner is very friendly. Ok we literally ordered a few times in the last weeks and it was great... Then last night was ugh, pizza was all over the place, steak was WAY over cooked! Rice was flavorless. So if ordering go with a plain pizza, or the calzone that was insane good. They have tons of sides and those have all been great as well! So stick with the easy things and you should be ok!!! Yikes, first and last time ordering here. Ordered the calzone, which is not at all a calzone. I thought they gave me a small pan pizza by mistake. This is basically a grease saturated pepperoni pizza with some cheesy dough thrown on top. I had one slice and my stomach is paying the price. I hate waisting food, but this is inedible. I used to come here all that time. It was decent food. Looks like the owners changed hands. Stopped in today to try the pizza, bowl and pasta dish. Pass, pass, pass and run Nothing was fresh. All canned vegetables, soft and soggy right down to the rice. Pasta was mushy and not much flavor. Pizza had no sauce and crust was dried out. The food and service is simply not the same since the establishment changed ownership. The last three orders I placed the cashier didn't know the special and I had to reclarify I order a number of times. Today, I ordered a junior Roast beef special. When I went to pick up the order, there were no fries prepared for the special. When I asked for a substitution with chips, they said it would be ready in a minute. When the order was remade, it was still wrong after waiting 20 minutes. The roast beef sandwich is delicious, but the pizza is over cooked. I recommend the owner train the cashiers in the specials so that orders are taken properly and to be more flexible when they make mistakes. Bad food, bad service means no more Giovanni's for us after being loyal customers for nearly three years. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with Giovanni's. I love about 90% of the things that I have tried there, but the terrible things I had were enough for me to knock a whole star off. The first time I went here, I got one of the combos that were advertised on the window. You get a fish sandwich, fries and a drink for like $6.95. I felt like I was back in the 1990s somewhere and I figured the food would taste subpar, but that was not the case at all. The sandwich was huge and delicious. I didn't know you could change the limp, tasteless shoestring fries to tasty, delicious sweet potato fries at the time, but I found out later. Since my first time there, i have ordered a ton of things: Steak and Cheese Calzone Slice Chicken Parmesan Calzone Slice Combo Salad w/ Steak Tips and Chicken Combo Salad w/ Steak Tips and Shrimp Steak Tip Salad Clam Chowder Chicken Wings Chicken Tenders Hamburger Combo Steak and Cheese Sub Cheese Pizza Chicken Sandwich Combo Shrimp Rice Bowl (Yes...I am greedy and I clearly order from here a lot) While most of that was good, the chicken wings were the pre-battered random kind I could have purchased from a random store and fried myself. The chicken tenders would have killed me on the spot if I had blood pressure issues (they were salty as sin). The shrimp in the combo salad were ridiculously salty too. Despite their shortcomings, I have ordered that damn fish sandwich at least 4-5 times, I keep getting their steak tip salad with extra feta and I happily order a Sprite Zero, Diet Dr. Pepper, Fresca, Diet Ginger Ale or Sparkling Water to go with my meal. This may not seem like a huge deal, but it is for someone who silently cringes when Diet Pepsi and Diet Coke are the only available sugar-free options. Knowing me, I will be getting food from here plenty in the future. I may as well buy stock in this place...sheesh. Oh yeah, order on their website instead of using one of the food delivery services since you have more customization options. The combo specials are also not available when ordering online unless you head to the official site. While you are there, make sure that you look for other coupons in the specials section and rejoice when you place an order and the tracker provides up-to-the-minute details on your order. First of all, their pizza is good all the time(1 out of 4 instances was bad, I'm guessing they have different cook working for them during weekends and I assume that's why there was 1 bad pizza) However, the reason why I put 3 stars, simply because of a wasted time. I've put a pickup order via Grubhub at 12:30 and was told that my pizza will be ready by 12:50. I arrived at 1:05, to pick up my pizza, but I was then told that they don't have Chicken and offered me to pick something else. So once again, I have submitted the order at 12:30 and was told that my order will be ready at 12:50. When I was en route, I haven't received a single call that they are out of chicken nor any statement that is my order can't be completed. When I arrived I was told that they are out of chicken and that I have put choose something else as a replacement. Obviously I was hungry and decided to wait extra 20-30 minutes until my replacement order was being cooked I understand this could be a simple error or mistake, but please don't waste you clients time for free. Or if you do, please make sure to notify your client before or provide some kind of reimbursement/discount, whatever it takes to make your client happy! I am sorry for this rant, but you have to understand me as a client. read more

He also was rude on the phone and couldn't find my house but kept hanging up on me when I was trying to give directions. I emailed the corporate office regarding this but they never responded. We had a pretty big size order for a kid's birthday party, with many different pizzas and toppings, calzone, fries and chicken fingers. At first we were skeptical about this place due to its not so flawless Yelp reviews, however our family convinced us to give them a try.. And boy I'm glad we did.. We are very happy with the service and quality of the food. Vinnie's had always been my top pizza joint in Malden, but with its quality declining now Giovannis will be the go to pizzeria for us in Malden for sure. read more

They took 45 min to deliver new food, asked for the wrong food back, and refused a refund. The "manager", Roman, was the most incompetent and rude manager I have ever dealt with. Because my family wanted to give the pizza another try I gave it a go. Since ordering again out of the 4 orders I have made NONE of them have been correct.
