This tiny place known for their namesake mini patty melts on homemade brioche has gotten bigger and…read moreexpanded the menu. But the beef is still the reason I come. Butter is collateral (and arterial) damage. -- Snappy Pattys: Thin patties of beef get griddled and placed between slices of bread no thicker than your finger and no wider than a KFC biscuit. You'll taste the condiment configuration of choice (I like the Texan for its zippy bacon-laced melted cheese), but you'll taste butter first and foremost, which can be daunting. The surfaces of the bread don't get much browning and the beef was less beefy and less seasoned than I remember from a few years back. Although these never blow me away, they're a nice little novelty that's always worth a taste. -- Patty Melt: The full size format offers a third of a pound of beef (looked thicker) between larger slices of the same type of bread. Not much outer texture or browning, but the interior was moist. Minimal beef flavor, with butter again on overdrive-- much too much of it-- but this time mitigated by the complementary flavors (according to the menu, roasted chili & bacon sauce, tomato, iceberg, blue cheese & avocado aioli). Still enjoyable, though the lack of browning (on bread and beef) and the veering of the ingredients from traditional (no caramelized onion, no rye) kept it from scratching that patty melt itch. Nice place, and I've enjoyed previous visits. And the fried chicken as well as the namesake mini melts. But the quest for the elusive killer patty melt continues.

The chicken was very moist and tasty. The waffles are a little sweet for me, and a little clumpy consistency, but the chicken made up for it.

Two of us got the roots burger- bacon, jalapeños, cheese sauce, tater tots and the usual burger toppings. Love the toppings and the flavor combo. The burger itself was ok. I've definitely had better but it wasn't bad. It's silly they're served with chips and baked beans or Cole slaw instead of fries. Really didn't end up needing either in the end barely finished my burger. The milkshake was a good finisher I took most of it home and finished it later on but it as a good milkshake. And they have really extra milkshakes that have like three in one dessert vibes lol. They sound good in theory but it's a lot. Overall a decent burger place in Boston!

I LOVED my gravy train burger- the cheese curds were thick, salty, and had a nice bite and smothered in gravy with a thick patty. Our service was great too! Super welcoming workers and shout out to our waiter Ryan. He was really friendly and I couldn't be happier with our experience. A cozy spot in Davis Square, and it has me already thinking of my next burger!

It's only open for brunch on Sundays, which combined with always being seated immediately makes it feel like a hidden gem. The back patio is quiet, shaded, and sheltered from wind. The food shines. Of course the egg scramble and the Benedict's were fantastic, but every piece of every plate feels deliberate and done with intention--nothing is an afterthought. - Their home fries are my all-time favorite--thick, well-seasoned, soft on the inside with some crisp on the outside. - - The English muffin toast has a crunchy golden surface and soft inside. - The whipped cream on the French toast feels luxurious. - Oyster shooters are a fun treat, as a lover of both fried clams and bloody Mary's. - They were kind enough to accommodate us with a half order of their (outstanding) French toast for dessert I'd note there's no espresso drinks on the menu, although I did enjoy the black coffee. I like trying new spots, but if the question is Sunday brunch then Avenue is always my answer.

We ordered the Double Smoked Bacon Brisket Burger, the Truffle Mushroom Swiss Burger, and Smash Fries. The Double Smoked Bacon Brisket Burger ($12.39) looked SMOKING good. From the bite I had, I never had brisket inside my burgers before, but they sure matched well and tasted so flavorful! The Truffle Mushroom Swiss Burger ($7.09) was a burger I've had my eyes on the first time I saw it, and while it may look kind of sad and dull, the FLAVOR was absolutely deeeelish! Unfortunately, the truffle mayo is not as abundant as I would have liked so the parts that the beef patty missed were kind of dry. But trust me, that swiss cheese and mayo with the mushrooms is like striking gold. You'd have to try this for yourself. The Large Smash Fries ($4.59) are for sure one of my most favorite fries. They are thin and not too potatoey, which I like, and the garlic, olive oil, and especially rosemary bits offer so much flavor to them. Sadly, they did give us un-fresh ones that were under a lamp before we even arrived, so they weren't as warm and crispy as I would have liked. Everything was still amazing though! You can guarantee I'll always consider Smashburger for a tasty fast food option!

When asked about a refund, I was told to contact door dash even though I ordered through Smashburger website. Door dash could not assist, employee said "that's what we are told to do by the manager, call door dash." The order was ready 30 minutes later and the chicken was horrible! It was rubbery and inedible.

We had an unexpected trip to the area that morning to visit a local store…read more When we were done, we noticed it was just about lunch time and decided to find a place to eat. There were many options to choose from but we do like to try places that are not always traditional. Hoping for a local favorite. Right on the corner, it is easy to find and with street parking easy to get to and enjoy a good meal and probably a late night gathering with friends. Rustic looking, it definitely put off the vibe of the local establishment for Arlington. We were the first customers that early afternoon. They were literally unlocking the doors when we arrived. The menu offered enough options to satisfy our dietary and personal preferences. Meats, chicken, fish and veggie options. You can find something. Staff was very friendly and attentive, but we were the only guest that early in the day. The crowd did pick up as we ate our meal. Large windows allowed you to sit and people watch on, what I would imagine is the Main Street for the town. It was Sunday so a little quiet so not a lot people watching today. Food was great and the presentation was a lot more than expected for a tavern. Full bar options and a good list of local craft beers. I love trying local beers when possible. A lot of space for seating during the day and I can only imagine the evening bar scene. Based on the number of people who did walk in while we were there to recover their credit card from the night before. Sounds weird but it totally gave off the local vibe. Love it. Very clean and tidy for a Tavern. Respectful place. Plenty of TVs to watch your favorite game so I enjoyed a chance to see one of the Sweet 16 games that day. So, if you are in town, give Town Tavern a visit.
